Journaling from
all parts of you
|
|
 |
by Jackie Woods |
|
|
You are a composite of four bodies-physical, emotional, mental, and inspirational. All four of those parts have a right to a voice. In fact all four need to have equal expression or you, and thus your life, will be out of balance. Most people begin their journaling by giving one body a voice. For example, if your daily thinking leans toward the inquisitive, factual side of life then your journaling will be mostly an expression of your mental body. You will record the details of your growth process, your dreams, and events. It will provide the order that you need.
How will your journaling be different if your emotional body is the leader? For one thing, there will probably be more pages written, none of which will make any sense to anyone else. Writing time will be spent trying to resolve the last upset feeling. Journaling will support you not only in getting in touch with the full intensity of the feeling but it will also help you to clear it. For a person with a strong emotional body, giving your feelings a voice through writing is vital. It helps to give them movement, thus freeing a space for your heart to speak.
For those that think beyond what is going on right now, i.e., the inspirational body, journaling is important for letting each new possibility have its space. However, if you are one of these writers, you must be careful not to make final verdicts too quickly. It may take several days of writing just to give one exciting possibility a birthing space. Inspiration is often an unfolding process.
A physical doer will usually bottom line everything. Physical people get things done. If this is your living style, then more than likely it will be your journaling style. You will write about what you have done or intend to do. Don't worry, wordiness is not a necessity in journaling as long as you get to the "ah ha." The "ah ha" for a doer is when they become aware of what they are expressing through their doing, not just what is getting done.
How can you know if all parts of you are being allowed a space in your life? Following these three easy steps will help:
#1 Make sure you give equal space in your journal for each of your bodies.
#2 Start being aware of your weakest body throughout the day.
#3 Be creative in the ways you listen to each body.
To give equal space in your journal to the physical, emotional, mental, and inspirational bodies, you must give them equal space in your life. This means you will need to bring parts of you to a higher evaluation. For instance, if you find factual, detailed people boring then of course you aren't going to give that part of yourself much space. If emotional people seem too irrational, then probably you won't allow your feelings a very loud voice. The reason the physical dominant person writes less is because he/she sees the other three bodies as less important. If you see inspirational people as flaky and ungrounded, then naturally your judgment will keep you from letting possibilities enter your life.
Once the judgment is gone, you will be able to hear the previously untouchable parts of yourself. As you learn to listen to them throughout the day, you will be able to record their voices with honor. You will begin to see how each of your four bodies supports each other when they all have equal space. You were intended to be a team. Yes, each part of you plays a different role on the team, but each is equally important. It may require a great deal of creativity on your part to develop one of your bodies into a full-fledged player, but it will be worth the effort.
The temptation will be to only speak and write the language of your loudest voice. You must not give in to that temptation. Each of your four bodies speaks its own language. You must learn how to listen to those languages and how to write them. You will miss the glory of knowing all of you if any one of your bodies is left out.
Let's look at how these languages speak. The physical body gives life expression by bringing you into the tangible world. Its language speaks about what you are going to do and what you have done. The details of how you are planning to do something are the words used by the mental body. Your emotional vocabulary needs its own textbook. Feelings are right-brained circular expressions that add texture, shape, and color. They are not to be explained away by the logical mental part of your self. Last is the language of inspiration. It goes beyond what is known in the present to that of all possibilities. It is the place of fantasy, not because it is frivolous, but because it hasn't yet been chosen and acted on. It charts your destiny.
Giving each of your four bodies a space on paper will make them real for you. Giving each an equal space will give them a place on your team. Creativity will become your companion on this journey as your four parts become more adept in interacting. You cannot be whole without all your parts. Let journaling support you in your acceleration into wholeness.

Jackie Woods
Healer & Spiritual Teacher
|
 |
Jackie Woods' training in the "metaphysical school of psychic instruction" began with her first moments of life. She was born with a psychic gift, which became the vehicle for her training by three Spirit Guides and several Angels.
In her small Midwest hometown, people looked askance at anything that couldn't be seen, touched, or proven. Her mother gave Jackie good advice by cautioning her not to tell anyone what she "heard" or "saw". Jackie's gift grew until she was mature enough for its unveiling as an adult.
After much resistance on her part, the unveiling of Jackie's gift did happen. She finally surrendered to use her ability to see and work with energy. Jackie began her mission of bringing healing to the planet by lifting unhealthy energy patterns from people's auras, and by instructing them on how to find their heart's truth.
Jackie began her career as a healer and spiritual teacher in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1978. As news traveled that this woman could really change a person's life, people began coming to her in droves. By 1985, she had a three year waiting list. Over the years she has touched and changed the lives of thousands through her courses, seminars, and individual sessions.
In 1998, Jackie moved from Atlanta to Columbus, North Carolina, where she founded the Adawehi (Ah-dah-way-hee) Healing Center. This facility is used to support people in healing all four of their bodies (spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical). Alternative forms of natural healing are offered, such as Awareness Courses, Spiritual Growth Counseling, Energy Work, Deep Tissue Massage, Non-force Chiropractic, Color & Sound Therapy, Meditations, Classes, and Interactive Workshops. Jackie's Awareness Courses are also available via the Internet.
In December 2002, construction was completed on the Adawehi Institute. This 8000 square foot facility allows Jackie to take her teachings to larger audiences and to make available a wider range of healers and teachers.
As an author, Jackie has published two books; Journey to Ultimate Spirituality and Spiritual Energy Cycles; an audio tape, Meditation and Needs; a CD, Four Way Mental Communication and Emotional Sharing, and several magazine and Internet articles. She has been interviewed on television and radio, in Internet chat rooms, and by newspapers.
