Creating Bridges: Spirituality & Philosophy:
The Path of Wisdom and Love
What if you were already
perfect, exactly as you are?
by Dr. John Demartini |

Chances are that at least once in your life, you have said or heard the expression, "Nobody's perfect." It's a very common statement that most people accept as true. The irony is that this widespread cliché maybe one of the greatest and most pervasive myths of our time.
But what is perfect anyway? Most people imagine perfect to be positive not negative, happy not sad, kind not cruel, or sweet not bitter, but with these one-sided definitions of perfection how could anyone be perfect, since we are all two-sided beings. What if perfection though was simply a balance of positive and negative, happy and sad, kind and cruel and sweet and bitter...? What if perfection was a balance of all the complementary opposite traits? Then perfection would be inescapable for each of us since we experience a balance of these two sides throughout our lives. So the idea of our imperfection may be simply a common myth.
This falsehood is so well accepted that at this very moment, millions of people all over the world are feeling inadequate as a result of their comparison of their balanced two-sided life to their mythical one-sidedness. Some are beating themselves up for what they misperceive as a mistake that they made due to their false or unrealistic expectations. Others are giving up on their dreams or misbelieving that they can't accomplish what they are here to do. Regardless of how successful they are or how much satisfaction they have in their lives, most people think of themselves as less than perfect. They do not see their divine magnificence or balance.
The truth is that you are perfect, exactly as you are right now. The word perfect means "complete in all respects." Since you are a full quantum being, you have an equal balance of positive and negative traits, thereby making you a work of perfection, both in body and in mind. This is what I mean by your own magnificence.
