Winding our way through the holy days of Spring, with all their profound glory and lessons of discipleship, it is not hard to see that the carefully monitored paths humanity's religions are following, have been continually reinforced by a Higher Plan. Throughout time the footsteps of the Creator upon the face of Earth have always been thousands of years before us. In esoteric circles we learn that the path of ascension begins with every spiral of transmutation, roughly a period of 2,300 years or so, which is enhanced by our remembrance of how the "Christ Power" - as Alice Bailey and other teachers entitled it - is empowered by human vessels of enlightenment. This Power, not only the power of Jesus, The Christ, but of Buddha, Mohammed, King David, Solomon and others, is brought to bear at a higher intensity at times of significant human evolvement when the consciousness of the Divine Forces on earth and elsewhere, must be upgraded. Because we do not always see the "forest for the trees," it is widely known that significant avatars and wise ones of the time hold the proper perspective for us through their teachings, books and activities. Let us discuss what has led us into this latest Age of Divine Consciousness unfolding within us.
Over two thousand years ago we are told a prophet and teacher without peer walked amongst the ancient world of the Roman Empire at a time of great upheaval and violence. He was marked by a virgin birth, born into the dregs of Roman society and his birth was recorded by the magi of his time. All such avatars come forward to us through history, mythology and the Will of God. The ancient schools of mystery describe over and over how these figures who carry the Christ Power number seven and bring forward the unfolding plan of the ages at critical times. Because of the difficulty of their path and the serendipity of human thought and belief, many never reach the age of delivery. That is why two thousand years ago, only two lived long enough to be recognized for their holy work. Now, lest we misunderstand the way "holy" is being used in this treatise, know that the words of God which straighten our minds and embolden our hearts can always be recognized by a heart of light. God's Plan does not require the education of man to receive it but, the heart of God within each of us to recognize it. Thus, in their time, Jesus and John the Baptist were known for their holy words. At a time when many of our ancestors were still no better than they had been during our historical Stone Age, the Face of God turned in a most profound direction; outward, from within the mind and body of man.
We all have read how Jesus and John were descended from this family and that family over thousands of years from the time of Abraham but, all we need remember is that the spirit line of Judah was linked to the Christ Power, always evolving and winding its divine way through our midst. We are reminded today through Mel Gibson's powerful portrayal of Jesus's last days that the path of an avatar is no easy task. The lives of Jesus and John were barely remembered or remarked upon during their time. However, they caused such an explosion of inner wisdom to be seeded in man's consciousness that we today are still grappling over the full ramifications of their sacrifice. I believe as many before me that this consciousness of God has its seeds within all of us and that these times of immense implosion open up doorways long sealed for our protection. Following the truth as related by Dr. Curtiss above, our little microcosm gets shaken up so we can explore new doorways of self-knowing and paths to paradise within. In the end of "The Passion of Christ," Mr. Gibson leaves us, appropriately, with the concept of resurrection or the dawning of God's Internal Light. If you believe in signs marking the end of an age, I think we should all take a good look at the one revealed in this movie for the ages.
When we find ourselves in the womb or the tomb, it is time to begin again. Resurrection brings new insights, the exploration of new worlds, allows us to begin manifestation of God's Upgraded Plan and increases our spiritual activity. It is now time to become one with the Plan or as Max Freedom Long so eloquently put it in his book, "The Secret Science at Work (1953),"
"The goal of the work is not only the healing of body and mind, or social and economic tangles, but a restoration of the lost knowledge of a way of life such as taught not only by the kahunas, but by Jesus, and by many initiates of the past under an ancient code of secrecy. With the breaking of this code the 'True Light' can be given to the world, to be known and used by all who have eyes to hear and ears to see."
So, what paths do we walk now? It is understood that the disciples walked twelve different paths of truth into the Heart and Mind of God. Whether you call it 12 Faces of God or Twelve Names, the concept of walking in the shoes of the apostles before us, may not seem so far-fetched. I believe that these avatars bring forward lessons for the future, not for their own time. If this is true, then the teachings of Jesus were never to be fully comprehended at the time of the Roman' expansion (or decline), but, gradually over the next 2,000 years. And not understood by all, for that is never the case with the Christ Power. Like the Marines, only the few really take on the mantle of the message. One of my professor's likened this idea to the fact that only one drop of white paint in a full can of black can make a remarkable difference in the shade. In other words, small reflections of the Inner Radiance of God can permeate our human consciousness and slowly turn us in the right direction. What drops of white paint or messages are still active today as they work their way into our everyday lives?
Jesus felt that the way to receive God's attention would most likely come through the heart of a child. It is the return, may I say even the hope of innocence to the planet, that allows for miracles to continually occur. Where you have the heart of a child, you will also find the heart of the Mother. In Mel Gibson's movie, three women play significant roles; Mary the Mother, Mary Magdalene and Veronica. Of the three, two are most closely associated with the passion of the living Jesus. I suggest to you that after hearing the gospels of most of the male disciples for several thousand years, it is now time to hear the truth from the women who so loved the innocent child that also held the Christ Power. With all respect to the men who fought and died for their beliefs, it is the women I look to for our present salvation.
For the past five hundred years the Cult of Mary has transformed the faith of millions of human beings. Even as the Holy Roman Catholic Church is going through such hardship and turmoil today, the sight of Mary reassures us that truth and love will prevail. She is credited with being Queen of the Angels. And we all know angels are messengers of God who are known by their deeds. Through history and stories and mythology, Mary has become an earthly conglomerate of many facets of the Mother God, Sophia. Mary's faith, her belief in everlasting life and her absolute love for the God that was within and without her, is a lesson without comparison for us today. Throughout time she has been called by many names, but Her truth remains the same. There is only one Mother but She has many faces on earth. Compassion and love will get you into Heaven.
In the past twenty years, Mary Magdalen has begun to surface as the disciple held closest to the last Living Christ. She caught sight of him first after he transcended death. She bathed him in expensive oils in preparation for the end of his life on Earth as we know it but, she had no fear. At a time when women were not respected nor allowed to speak the holy words in their own tabernacles, she stepped forward out of her time and took on the cloak of innocence. Disciples through the ages have several things in common. They are misfits for their time, hold balance from their male and female sides, do not bow to the truth of tyrants and their words echo through eternity. Magdalen brings to us today the lesson of inner healing, humility before the truth of God within you, mercy and forgiveness. I believe her words echo the wisdom of Sophia and her actions reflect the way of the peaceful warrior. We do not have to look far to see her resemblance in many of our alternative healers, intuitives and global teachers. It is as if Mother Earth Herself is telling us, "I am the manifestation of the Living Light and now you are beginning to come home to Me once more."
Once again the few seek peace, enlightenment, global healing and a growing oneness with all life. We are back to reflecting upon the microcosm that Dr. Curtiss describes, openly teaching the Qabala to the few and reclaiming the planet for God's children. Is there any doubt as to why our most sacred symbol in America is the Statue of Liberty? It well may be the right time for the lessons of Magdalen. Go in search of her mercy. Ask for her forgiveness. Learn how to love others while maintaining your own innocence and reflect always upon the Inner Light of God that is now well within your reach because of the actions and beliefs of the last twelve. And most importantly, know that God's Plan is always in action, ever attentive and within your grasp. If we wish hard enough, maybe we can be one of the twelve for our time. After all, it is not everyone who goes in search of a higher purpose. We know there is something we are meant to do and we intend to do it. The time of divine implosion is right before our eyes. The Christ Power is always looking for misfits, inspired humans who need to do more, not stay at status quo - and we are looking for the few...
