Medical Intuition: The Power of Dreams and the Near-Death Experience

Medical intuition is the ability to see beyond the normal levels of perception. Our desire is to see more clearly and to have this intuitive power available to us moment by moment. My background as an allergy-testing technician gives me the framework upon which I base my instincts. I believe that a clear, detoxified body sees, free of poisons, allergic substances and toxic overload, feels and thinks more clearly. Many people, after they have removed allergens from their bodies, can and do have vivid dreams which can be very revealing as far as health is concerned.
After a seminar, a woman came up to me and shared how she'd had a dream revealing polyps in her colon. Tests showed that she was right. Her polyps were removed and thanks to dietary changes, she remains healthy.
Another woman reported that she had been shown a large basket of bread in her dream. It was clear to her, through the dream, that she should stop consuming bread - consequently her Crohn's disease, an inflammation
of the intestinal tract, improved.
A young man named Saul spoke to me after a workshop. His dream saved his life. Saul was employed in a lumber mill. Every night for two weeks, he heard a voice in his dream, which said, "The green bug is going nowhere!" He woke up each morning wondering what this meant, and every night he had the same dream. The green bug is going nowhere? What could this mean - the green bug? For days he looked at bugs, dead and alive, and none of them were green. Two weeks passed and one day after work, one of his co-workers at the mill asked Saul if he would drive with him to the local bar for a few beers. He had just completed the repairs to an old Volkswagon beetle type car. The young man agreed and waited while his friend drove around from the back of a building. As soon as he saw the car drive up in front of him, he realized the significance of the recurring dream. He was staring at a green bug. Just then, a sinking feeling came over him and he knew that he was not to get into that "bug." He hastily made up an excuse saying he had left his jacket in the building and that he would meet his friend later at the appointed bar. Two miles down the road, his co-worker (and the green bug) took a curve too wide, veered off the road, and plunged down a cliff.
Dreams speak to us in symbols. Most of the symbols, pictures, ormessages are garbled and make no obvious sense. Psychotherapists tell us that dreams are the inner workings of the subconscious, releasing the clutter of the mind. But the symbols of dreams can be instrumental in understanding emotional blockages, assisting with physical healing or in foretelling the future.
How to Analyze a Dream
Immediately upon waking, make a note of all the images in the dream. Write down your impressions quickly to get a sense of each dream sequence. Never mind if they are random and undecipherable. Usually the symbols in a dream are aspects of ourselves and they speak to us in a
language we will hear. Twenty-five percent of dreams are said to be precognitive or foretelling of an event to come.
You may wake up from a dream where you are being chased or persecuted. This usually represents a part of you that is trying to get your attention or a part of your personality that is attacking you. As we clear out the buried emotion and cleanse the physical body, we rarelyhave these kinds of dreams.
A vehicle, car, or boat usually represents the physical body.
A bridge or boat can mean the passage from one physical or emotional place to another.
A baby in a dream can represent the birth of a new project, notnecessarily a physical birth.
Water in a dream can refer to the subconscious.
As you note down each image in the dream, ask yourself what this could mean in your current situation; or find a person who is skilled in interpreting dreams.
I have a "dream buddy," a friend who assists me in interpreting my dreams and I with hers. There are many useful books to help decipher a dream's message. I recommend The Mystical, Magical, Marvelous World of Dreams, by Hilda B.Tanner, (Sparrow Hawk Press, 1988).
There is no right or wrong way to interpret dreams.
The questions you want to ask yourself are, "What does this dream mean to me?" and "What is the deeper, subconscious part of me trying to communicate through this dream?" Ask for clarity regarding an issue in your life to come through a dream. Your desire is to be strengthened not weakened by the experience.
A friend of mine was choosing an apartment. She liked the first apartment for rent that she saw, but it was facing north and she figured that it would be quite dark and gloomy. That night she asked for a dream regarding whether or not she should take the apartment in this very
sought-after building. She awoke from her dream having seen a large stop sign, overshadowed by an eagle surrounded by light. She interpreted this to mean that she should not take the apartment but that something better would become available. The dream, which tapped into the deeper unconscious part of her that knew what was best for her, had revealed its wisdom.
Two weeks later, another apartment, with a west-facing orientation, and in the same building, became available. She was glad she had trusted her instincts and the symbols in her dream and waited. Her new apartment, filled with light, looked out over the trees to an eagle's nest.
In 1995, I awoke from a dream foretelling a life and death situation. I dreamed that I was attending a function (an event or experience) at a church (source of spiritual wisdom) and I couldn't decide where to park my car (vehicle, physical body). I was told that I could park my car next to the minister's car (God, higher authority).
In my dream, I quickly evaluated that I was not worthy to park my car next to such an important person (not ready to go to God or merge with a higher spiritual power) at that time. The other option that I was given was to park my car in the graveyard (physical death). I could see people stepping out of black cars that they had parked beside the gravestones. I didn't feel comfortable parking there. The third option that I was given was to park next to a grassy ditch. I decided to park there.
In my dream, I noted the dryness of the earth, the dry rugged grass, and the yellow dandelions in the ditch. I awoke not realizing that this dream, sequence by sequence, would foretell of an automobile accident that would nearly end my life. Two days later, following that compelling dream, I happened to be making a left turn on a busy country road. As I put my signal on to make the turn, the thought crossed my mind that this was a dangerous place to be, stopping.
Just then, I looked in the rear view mirror to see a blue truck approaching very quickly and I knew I was going to be hit. At the moment of impact I heard a loud booming voice saying, life is short and very precious! I was in complete surrender, knowing that this could be my last breath. As I gripped the wheel and the whole scene lit up with searing white light. In a nanosecond, I saw the meaning and purpose for our lives and how life works. Cars were flying in different directions, the truck was overturned at the side of the road and somehow I managed to end up, upright and unhurt, in the same grassy ditch I had seen in mydream two nights before.
On a spiritual level, it was probably one of the most dramatic and revealing experiences of my life. Where I was taken and what I was shown at the moment of impact was beyond time and space. I wish everyone could have this experience. No one would ever disrespect their bodies again, nor would they ever say a mean thing orcommit an unkind act. It is true that life is short and very precious.
In that one brief moment of time, I was able to feel the anguish of what it would be like to die and not to have completed my purpose on earth. No wonder I'm such a zealot now! This anguish of an uncompleted purposeis hell.
Hell is not the fiery furnace we're told about in Sunday School. Hell is what it feels like to be born for a reason and not taking full advantage of the opportunities given to us during our earthly life. We all have a purpose. I immediately saw that I must rededicate myself fully to my purpose and that there was no time to be lost.
In this brief second, I also was shown that it was a privilege to have a physical body. I could feel many souls pressing in on me and I could hear them telling me that they would dearly love to be in physical form, to have another chance to complete their mission here on earth. These felt like senior citizen souls who would give anything to have one more round on the earth plane. Apparently, according to them, we are lucky tobe alive and should banish depression and despair.
The next concept that I was shown was that everything has weight and importance. Every "good" thought, word or action is noted and carries weight, as does every "other" thought, word or action. Nothing is without its price tag. Understanding this concept was life changing forme. No secrets are hidden and everything is recorded on the etheric plane.
In this thirty-second experience, I was also given the insight that we are only here to love and to serve. It doesn't matter what kind of clothes we wear, it doesn't matter what our house looks like or the type of car we drive or how we look. We could be fat or thin, young or old, plain or pretty. What matters is that we are in loving service thumanity.
As that scene lit up, I could see that all of life was interlinked. Man, nature, and the cosmos at that dimension appeared to be thousands of brilliant sparks of light - touching and interacting with each other. Everything seemed to be pre-ordained. I could sense divine intelligence pervading the entire scene. At this level, you could see forever.
The whole scheme showed me that there was a divine plan and it appeared that our little minds had very little to do with it. It was also clear that there is no pain in death. The moment that the body loses consciousness, it is free of pain. We remain alive in energy but not in physical form. At this level, it is true that the soul never dies. But we may experience shock because our physical death may have happened suddenly, without time to prepare, so that we have no idea how we got to this level.
Fortunately, at this time, we are surrounded by helpers: angels, radiant beings, and family members who assist us in making the transition from one world to another. There are no accidents, and everything happens for a reason. The good, the bad, and the in-between happens for our own growth. The earthly plane is about learning the lessons of life as quickly and impeccably as possible. We are here by grace, and our time is short. We could literally be taken off the planet at any time - it is simply not our decision.
Heaven, by the way, is not way "over there." Heaven, or the other side of the veil, is right here - just one millimeter beyond our nose. If you put out your hand, it is in the veil. We can be pulled into the veil or heaven and we can pull the veil through to us, just as we do in prayer, contemplation, or meditation. I saw no curving staircases, pearly gates or Saint Peter standing there taking tickets. It was not that romantic.
Several days after the accident, I happened to be watching a television program about a famous and influential woman who died in her mid 60's. I wondered if she had known that she was going to die at such a young age, would she have lived her life differently?
As a result of this life-changing catalyst, I became realigned to my spiritual purpose. To this day I have dedicated my life to assuring people that there are more than just the obvious reasons for becoming healthy.
From this dramatic story, you can see the symbolism of my precognitive dream. This out-of-body experience was revealed in each sequence. No, it was not the appropriate time to go to God or to park next to the minister. No, it wasn't appropriate to park my car in the graveyard. But the best spot seemed to be the grassy ditch - with my life intact. Now its time for you to take the intuitive reins work with your dreams and discover your own voice of medical intuition.
