AAs we gather under Heaven's illuminating Festival of Lights awaiting the winter solstice, we are much brighter and aware than we were a year ago. How do I know this to be true? Why, because you have chosen to forsake the solitary path of The Hermit and unite with others of your calling, to become a "world-server," as Alice Bailey so exclaims seekers of light to be. Your purpose in pursuing the path of mastery has probably been mentally and physically about how good it makes you feel at the end of each day - how strong and sure of yourself you feel. But, before you picked up the phone to enroll in your first esoteric class, before you ever met any teacher or "self-actualized," consciously, there was an impulse of God which pushed you towards completion of this higher understanding...the understanding that you can no longer stand by yourself in turmoil and darkness, but must join others in greatness and love. As we have done so many times in the past, we are going to reveal the true nature of our spiritual greatness - becoming one with each other for the purpose of revealing our God Nature to one and to all.
Yes, you have a God Nature as I do too, and it is not to stay hidden away for long. The more you reveal your passion, the more you reveal what obstructs that drive, what trips it up and what foils God's Plan unfolding within your being. There are two sides to the "Coin of Creation." As in mythology, there is a Creator God like Gaea and a Destroyer God like Shiva. All of us struggle at times to open up doorways of light within ourselves. Some of us fight harder than others because we can afford to be fearless now. Today, the fearless are fighting their demons as never before. The higher you walk up that ladder of ascension, the tougher the walk. Solomon became a powerful avatar because he faced off his demons and learned how to wield their power. In other words, he did not let the powers of darkness, fear, inaccurate visions and others' beliefs, trip him up. You might ask at this time, "how can I wield the power of the demons and still stay sane?" Let's look at that power for one moment.
There is a saying that the "greatest darkness always
precedes the dawn," which is a clever way of saying, that light and dark are inseparable. They are a matched pair, so get used to it. Solomon said, "Okay. I get it. They travel as one. Since I finally know that to be the Truth of God, how does God keep demon and human bowing to His Greater Wisdom?" The wise leader figured out that not only did every hero have his day from his father, David (of Goliath fame), buth he also knew the shame of Bathsheba and of his beloved brother Absalom, turning against his father in battle. It became clear to him that he could wield the power only if he could isolate the one aspect of God that could annoint him with protection and assist him to love more fully. He realized that their were Two Keys to the Kingdom and one was love. Solomon figured out that God's Balm, the second Key he needed to wield, was mercy. For with mercy, we can forgive ourselves and others our forays into darkness and ignorance.
It was mercy that so attracted the demons of old to Solomon's side. It was his power to forgive, to be merciful, to offer "The Light" once again to the followers of Lucifer that allowed him to become such a God-Man of wisdom. That mercy in turn attracted the female side of God to his arsenal, Sheba, and brought him great physical and mental abundance or "gold." Something like this also occured between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. All of this was brought forth from the Wisdom of the First Light - the belief in and follow-up to the God Impulse which propelled him and now propels you on a dark and windy road. So, where are your demons? Let us fight them together. Shall this be the winter we attract them together to expel them into the Light of the Ages? And shall we wield the weapons of mercy and love?
We shall ask for assistance with our demons because when we hold the power of light and dark within, meaning when we have a semblance of balance most of the time, we will be able to create all good things. This holiday season, let us create a powerful talisman together. The affirmation written upon the talisman will be wrapped up as a holiday present and may be placed under the Christmas tree, upon our altars or under the light of the sun and moon until December 25th. It will be up to each of us to maintain the "light" asked for in the talisman periodically, and I will speak to that as well. Be prepared to throw your demons into the light of this season. You will do it many times in the future as eternity is an awfully long road. But, the sooner we get the hang of it, the faster we will be courting pleasure, peace and abundance in our lives again. And remember, you can't do this all by yourself and ever hope to succeed. It is time for teamwork on the earthly and astral levels.
The affirmation may be written upon paper, cloth or wood. We need to declare our love of God and self in a way most sacred and respectful. In the affirmation written upon the talisman, ask for total illumination to light the dark places within you immediately. Never wait for tomorrow when you are forging an intention or affirmation. With light comes comprehension, new action and a more righteous path. And righteousness in this new age, like in the old, comes from within each of us. Then, ask that the Mother/Father God's love and mercy fill all our hearts at once. Seal your talisman by writing your full name upon it and announcing out loud, "God's Will Be Done, Amen." You may annoint the talisman with oil, salt, earth or water and place upon it a special symbol with great meaning to you. The light of the season becomes the fire aspect in this ceremony. Wrap your talisman in bright paper and be ready to "release" the Talisman into the world within and out, before sunset on December 25th, 2004. Do not destroy the talisman if you wish it to continue on vibrating the message it contains. A true talisman may only be destroyed by fire and why would we want to eliminate such a powerful, universal intention?
Take courage and join your fellow world-servers with positive intention and by wielding the great sword of truth you call the higher self . Accept the bittersweet path of righteousness once and for all. Let us learn to handle the twin powers of Mercy and Love together. It is the lesson of forever. It is the lesson of Solomon, Jesus and his beloved Mother, Mary. Let us watch for the Star of Bethlehem together like the Magi we are becoming. Have faith in yourselves at this time of light. Don't turn away from the very Light you have been seeking. Happy Hannukah. Merry Kwanza.
