Casting the Sacred Self Wheel of Harmony and Abundance:

Dear Friends,
We will continue our work with the Power Deck from last month (November 2004 issue).
CASTING THE SACRED SELF WHEEL OF HARMONY AND ABUNDANCE:
Card for the North on the Wheel of Harmony:
Force: Force lives in your will and comes from your intent. Life is a process of pulling back your bow, aiming your arrow, choosing a target, and shooting. The degree and quality of the force with which you choose your target and shoot determine your power and your success. Force is built through your integrity of purpose, your physical tuning, and your balance of spirit and mind. By naming your act of power, you create force. Follow your innermost passions in life. Empower your will and your strength of force by manifesting your secret dreams.
Reflections on the North Position of Our Wheel:
Do something right now, if you would, please. Go back to the teachings of creativity in the south of our wheel. Put that card side by side with the Force card in the north and bask for a moment in the beautiful synchronicity that comes with striving to live a life of harmony and balance:
Creativity in the south, in the place of manifestation -- You are about to go on a long journey; it is called your life. Define your own creativity and live that creativity in the world.
Force in the north, in the place of strength and wisdom -- Empower your will and your strength of force by manifesting your secret dreams.
Look at how the two cards sit across the Harmony Wheel from one another, reflecting the wisdom and beauty of each other from the place of balance which resides at the center between them. Can there be any lingering doubt that the universe intends us to live a life of harmony and of power? What amazing guidance these two cards give us as we move from the world of manifestation in the south to the north in search of strength and wisdom, then back to manifestation in the south.
If you could perform one act of power that would change your life forever, what would it be? Most of us do not know. We have lost touch with our own dreams, with that part of ourselves that helps us to manifest our true destiny in life. But the Force card tells us how to remedy that. The Force card tells us: Follow your innermost passions in life.
Follow your innermost passions.
Spend some time in prayer and meditation and find your innermost passions. Don't be afraid to let your inner light shine! That light is what life is all about.
Force is a north card in The Power Deck, home of strength and wisdom, the place within you where your adult self lives. It is also the place of spirit and of prayer.
By showing us the Force card in the position of the north on our Harmony Wheel, the Oracle of the Power Deck is telling us that to heal our wounded spirit and our wounded adult self, we should stay in the north and use the power of prayer, the power of strength and the power of wisdom. It is telling us that through integrity of purpose, physical tuning and balance of spirit and mind, we can inspire the power that resides within us, that perhaps has not yet been given life.
Force is a higher strength needed to endure the trials of consciousness and the tests of power in the north.
Card for the East on the Harmony Wheel:
Grief: Grief deepens you. It allows you to explore the perimeters of your soul. Grief is the only gateway to certain levels of consciousness, and it is a hard taskmaster. Through grief you can explore every aspect of your dark side - anger, pain, abandonment, terror, loneliness; and these are aspects of the sacred wound that in our daily lives we usually try to ignore. Grief forces you to look at those parts of yourself that are not yet healed. If you can look at grief as a teaching, you will grow. The pain of grief is not the only teacher in this life, but if looked at properly, with awareness and an open heart, it is one of the greatest teachers of all. The seeds of wisdom and enlightenment are planted within the wounds of grief. What is lost can only come back to us again in higher ways.
Reflections on the East Position of Our Wheel:
Wow! The universe so urgently wants us to heal, and it is using the Power Deck to show us how. The Grief card is one of the most illuminating cards in all of the Power Deck because, as the card says, it is the only gateway to certain levels of consciousness. It is true that grief is a hard taskmaster; it is also inescapable. What better, then, but to make grief your ally, which is what the Power Deck shows us how to do?
In working with the Grief card, there are critical things for you to know and assimilate into your consciousness. The Power Deck are cards of divination, but they are not for divining in what we would consider the "traditional" way. They are not cards of prophecy. There is no negativity, no death card in the Power Deck. Drawing the Grief card does not prophesy that there is some new grief or loss waiting for you around the next corner.
What this means is that we all experience grief in our lives, from great losses to minor bumps in the road that seem at the time to be so much larger than they really are. Yes, much of life involves suffering and loss, but great strength is brought to us through grief, through allowing ourselves to go all the way into the wound in search of the mirrors of illumination that are waiting there. One of my apprentices talks about how she experienced the sudden and unexpected loss of a brother. The weekend before his death, she had been doing work with the heart chakra and had come upon a passage reminding her that we are sent here to find love. During the ensuing weeks as she grieved with her family and her brother's friends, she remembered back to the teaching on the heart chakra and she realized, "Yes, my brother died much too soon by any of our reckonings. But in the greater scheme of life, he was one of the most successful people I have ever known, because he lived and died in love. Nothing he ever did in life was able to destroy the love people held for him, and nothing that life ever did to him was able to destroy the profound, innocent love that he held for this world. And that, my good friends, is successful living." And in that simple understanding, she found so much comfort and wisdom and healing.
Grief is the only place where we can find illumination on such a deep level, and it is a true gift to have it sitting in the place of the east on our Harmony Wheel. For east is the home of illumination! It is the home of creativity; home of the mind, the place of mental powers, often of wisdom. It is the place of the sacred clown, the one within who tests your existing belief structures to see if they are valid. And it is the place where the grandparent or old wise one within you lives. What safer place to experience grief than wrapped in the knowing arms of the old wise one.
Grief itself is a teaching of the west. I ask you once again to go back to the impeccability card which sits in the place of the west on our Wheel of Harmony. What profound mirrors these two cards are for one another - Impeccability and Grief. For what better way is there to explore our grief than from the place of perfection within us, the place of truth, responsibility, competence and intuition. Grief takes us into deep, reflective thought, delving into our unconscious life to find the strength to transcend. When we experience that grief from the perspective of truth and intuition, competence and responsibility, what amazing growth is waiting for us. Do not be afraid to learn the lessons that are to be found in grief; in every death there is rebirth and transformation. Sadness and grief are only one side of a double-edged sword. On the other side is peace, tranquility, joy and the understanding that we are all one.
We will continue next month with the final teachings in this Sacred Self Wheel. Ho!
In Spirit and Love,
Lynn Andrews
