Using Green Bells of Ireland Flower Remedy to Make Contact with the Nature Kingdom
|
|
|
by Donna Cunningham |
|
|
While I was teaching flower remedy classes in New York city, Steve Johnson of the Alaskan Flower Essence Project suggested Green Bells of Ireland to help people tune into the flowers and the devas. I began been giving it to students, and it definitely enhanced their learning.
One remedy class received a mixture of Green Bells and Australian Bush Essences' Cognis Essence at their first class, as the first essences they would take. Manhattan folks live in concrete and rarely see a tree, much less an uncut flower, and it produced some startling reactions.
Some found themselves absolutely riveted by cut flowers at fruit stands, others found they absolutely had to take long walks in Central Park, and others experienced deep grief over the environment. One professional woman with a successfully established practice found herself suddenly obsessed with the idea of leaving New York and moving to a rural area like where she grew up. Another student had a major quarrel with her live-in lover because she felt it was time to leave New York and he wasn't ready to do so.
The students did, however, learn the remedies better, faster, and deeper than earlier classes. At each session, they chose one remedy to take, and then at the next session reported back on the results. Their reactions were sharper and clearer than in earlier classes.
I myself had not taken Green Bells, because I was a homeopathic patient and felt it unwise to take remedies and possibly muddy the symptom picture. However, when I was getting ready to go to Australia, with a stop off in Hawaii, I took Green Bells, as I wanted to deepen my experience of these exotic plants.
I was blown away by the Australian and Hawaiian flowers and felt very close to them. On one ride with a woman who was admittedly insensitive, I experienced a physical shock when she would yank the flowers off the trees. I felt she should have asked their permission first, but put it down to my studies of native American culture--or to just generally getting weird.
Upon returning from the trip, I found myself unable to buy cut flowers. At first, I thought it was satiation, having seen so many lovely flowers in Australia and Hawaii. Then I thought perhaps I was depriving myself in a mean-spirited way, since I always buy myself cut flowers. Finally, I realized that cut flowers, having suffered violence, bothered me--a result attributable to Green Bells.
That spring was thoroughly intoxicating. After nearly twenty years in New York City, my travels enabled me to experience a number of the remedy flowers "in person" for the first time, and I was so joyful and excited to see them.
For those who have never seen the charming, old-fashioned garden flower called green bells of Ireland, also known simply as bells of Ireland, they are approximately the color of this background. They are cone-shaped and arrayed on stalks like gladiolias but smaller.

Donna Cunningham,

Donna Cunningham is an internationally respected astrologer and the author of 13 books on metaphysical topics.
Donna Cunningham has a dual background in astrology and psychotherapy, with a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University and over 30 years experience as a professional astrologer. She considers doing the astrology charts of children to be a sacred trust. It is a way of knowing who these Indigo children are on their own terms rather than as their families, teachers, and society expect them to be.
In these sessions, she focuses on typical childhood concerns such as family and peer relationships, the best educational approaches, and the child's special gifts and abilities. She can be reached for consultations at (503)291-7891, by email, or at her web page. Ask about her special rate for children's charts.
Donna is also co-editor of Vibration and a frequent contributor. She has written fourteen books on astrology and other metaphysical topics, including her Flower Remedies Handbook. Astrologers who want to know the special considerations involved in doing children's charts can read the chapter on this topic in Donna's text, The Consulting Astrologer's Guidebook.
Listed in several Whos Who volumes, she has given seminars on astrology around the world and won the prestigious Regulus Award at the 1998 UAC.
