Creating Bridges: The Spiritual & Philosophical :
The BUT Doctor
Healing America's Real Crack Problem One Person at a Time

The BUT Doctor Identifies
and Cures New Virus:
Appreciation Amnesia
®

by Eddie Conner
Rejoice always, pray constantly, and in all circumstances give thanks.

- The Desert Fathers

I appreciate people who love discussing spirituality and deliberate creation techniques in their lives. While enjoying a leisurely lunch with my good friend Kathy, we immersed ourselves in just such a conversation. We talked about our futures, how they would feel and what they would look like. By the end of our three hours together we were zinging and zipping with pleasure about our desired destinies.

During our time together Kathy and I also discussed a mutual girlfriend's plight (we'll call her Dena). Dena's problem is that she works long hard hours in a poverty environment. While at work, she congregates with low-frequency, unhappy co-workers. Every day they complain about feeling trapped in their dead-end jobs, feeling unseen and unheard and even victimized by upper management. Despite her bad work situation, the other areas of Dena's life are amazingly fabulous. BUT if you asked Dena about the positive aspects of her life she wouldn't recognize the extraordinary beauty she has manifested. As a matter of fact, if she weighed out the hi-frequency positive aspects of her life against the low-frequency negative parts, there would be no comparison; all of the beautiful, wonderful parts of Dena's life would fill the Empire State Building and the negative aspects would fill only the first floor of the same building. Remember the song lyric, "One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch girl"? Well, that is true, but it can be difficult not to use the negative situations in our days as a lense through which we see our lives and our world.

After eating a huge and delicious lunch, Kathy and I decided to walk off a few calories. We strolled through the surrounding shopping arcade. And we continued our conversation about Dena, how could we be helpful to her? I was struck with a deep feeling of content, all around me were interesting and gorgeous things to look at, my belly was full of nutritious food, I was enjoying the companionship of my dear friend, I was in what is termed "the NOW" and life felt so full. It abruptly dawned on me that Dena was suffering from a common side effect of BIG BUT Syndrome! I turned to Kathy and said "Oh my goodness, Dena has Appreciation Amnesia®!"

I raced home, still swimming in the warm wellspring of insight. I bolted into my office, grabbed the dictionary, and researched each word in order to create a new definition for others infected with another side effect of Big BUT Syndrome. I discovered the following definitions and was able to create a characterization for Appreciation Amnesia.

Appreciate: 1-To be thankful or show gratitude for. 2- To admire greatly; enjoy.
Amnesia: 1- Partial or total loss of memory, especially through shock, psychological disturbance, brain injury, or illness. 2- Not to remember.

Appreciation Amnesia®: 1- Partial or total loss of appreciative memories. 2- To forget experiences one is grateful for. 3- To deprive oneself of thanksgiving. And I don't mean turkey and pumpkin pie.

My observation about Dena came from a sincere and honest desire to come up with new ideas that would hopefully make her feel good. The after thought of my conversation with Kathy; about Dena, was simple because I recognized a powerful pattern, a key of transformation that led to the guidance about lack of appreciation among many spiritual people. I've listed my personal points of clarity, regarding our lunch visit.

We were both in a hi-frequency conversation.
Both of us felt great while enjoying each others company.
We sent loving thoughts, pure prayers and our great desire for Dena's happiness.
We focused on the solution more than the problem.
We asked for guidance and received guidance in that moment!

It's my belief that had Kathy and I chosen low-frequency emotions, such as irritation, frustration or judgment toward Dena that we would not have come to our hi-frequency realization. I have heard it said that each moment someone feels good, the Universe expands a hundred light years, and when we share our good feelings with others that number soulfully expands exponentially. That is why I AM thrilled to share this new information with you.

Pleasantly acknowledging the good parts of our lives each and every day, successfully chases Appreciation Amnesia® away.

Vow to yourself that you will choose to focus on appreciation. From this platform of consciousness you'll continue to create a skyscraper of hi-frequency greatness. Begin today to build your Empire of Desire. Every brick of appreciation cemented with the mortar of gratitude begins an empire of thanksgiving. With this formula, imagine for a moment the type of amazing people you will attract into your kingdom. Each person is of like-mind as they talk about positive aspects, beauty and strengths. Make believe that there is a community filled with loving people all working and playing together to create a SOUL-tion oriented neighborhood, then allow this invisible reality into physical manifestation. Make yourself a poster or get a bulletin board, write down something new that you appreciate every day. Use bright cheerful markers or crayons and keep this manifestation tool where you will see it each day.

Our BUT Blaster of the Month: Praying with a Pure Heart
Prayer is the soul's sincere desire

-- James Montgomery

Praying with a pure heart is simply praying with rich emotional energy that feels like the outcome for which you are praying. If you are praying for happiness for yourself or for a loved one, you want to pray beyond physical words and action. You want to pray with the highest emotional frequency the cells and atoms in your physical body can muster. In other words, do your best to feel what it would be like to have your prayer answered, and then in that feeling state, thank the Universe for already setting your request in motion.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon said, "Whether we like it or not, asking is the rule of the Kingdom." The purest form of asking is through prayer and authentic appreciation. Keep in mind that you are one with God Universe and that you are more nonphysical than you are physical. We are born with the wisdom, knowledge, power, and love of the cosmos inside of us. Our soul-self is made of infinite wisdom bringing our spiritual and human attributes together as one in order to fulfill our emotional frequencies. (Eddie, not sure what this means, can you clarify? What needs to be fulfilled in our emotional frequencies? Can we just end the sentence at "together"?) The most powerful prayers we send are the ones launched from a platform of feeling excited, happy, uplifted and connected to our whole soul-self. The higher we raise our invisible frequencies inside our physical bodies, the faster our prayers are answered.

Another secret of praying purely is to talk about, observe, and vibrate the solution, or SOUL-tion, of our desires. You may need to change your old prayer habits to include lighthearted tools that speak to your unique beliefs. If you tend to focus your prayers on what is wrong with your life and what you need, try shifting to what is right and what you have and ask for more of that. If you need money and you get a little money thank the Universe for it and ask for more. "Thank you God for this gift of money, I am grateful for it and request that you keep it coming!" I usually finish with singing a bit of the song, "We're in the money, we're in the money...then I hum a bit of the melody since I don't know the rest of the words. This always makes me laugh and smile and sends happy shivers down my spine. I imagine money raining from the sky or hanging on trees. It is great fun and it instantly raises my frequency.

I treasure my time with Kathy. Her words and vibration fill my senses to the brink with overflowing happiness. I now know, more than ever that each thought, every conversation and all the action that I have with someone either puts me on the path of my purpose or else pulls me off my purpose. It's always my choice. In fact, every mental and emotional thought that we have is an invisible brush, painting and creating on the canvas of our future. When we choose to feel good or to pray from a pure place of appreciating life, we are painting a brightly colored future on the canvas of our daily reality. Conversely, when we allow ourselves to feel bad we are using drab, dull colors that create a canvas of poverty, victimization and lack of wellness. It is imperative that we remember to take responsibility for painting our future-our destiny with the brightest colors, the warmest words and most delicious Soul Tools available to us

We work hard in order to live our purpose and to receive clear guidance for ourselves and those we love. I understand that communicating with genuine Soul Responsibility® both illuminates our purpose while we are consistently showered with angelic guidance and heavenly knowing. There are only two kinds of artists on our planet. There are hi-frequency "Artists of Appreciation" and there are low-frequency "Artists of Depreciation"? Which artist are you the majority of the time? Which artist will you choose to be this month? Happy creating!

* Next Month the saga continues - Kathy and I have a meeting with our wonderful friend Dena to share these techniques with her. I will keep you posted.
