Healing America's Real Crack Problem One Person at a Time
What is it about death that puts our life into perspective?

I have decided to put my smart-ass on the back burner and put my heart on my sleeve instead. BUT don't get to comfortable. I'll be back next month to talk up the Big But!
The other day I received an email from my friend Karen. The email was called "The Little Things" and I am sure that it must have circulated the world-wide-web to millions of people. The Little Things is a short list of persons who were late for their jobs, in the Twin Towers on the morning of 9/11. Reading this amazing forwarded email, inspired me to reminisce and to change the topic of our October 2001 newsletter sent monthly to our friends and clients.
On the morning of September 11th, 2001 I woke very early to the sound of my phone ringing off the hook. I was living in Los Angeles and all of my friends and family lived on the east coast. As the people I loved experienced the tragedy of a terrorist attack first hand, they called me to leave their tender messages of love.
My best friend Debbie called first, speaking through her tears about how much she appreciated our friendship. Mom called to say she loved me and to be sure that I wasn't actually on a plane that morning. Another startling call came from an associate who was actually in the other tower when the first jet crashed. Dozens more calls rolled in that morning like waves on a beautiful yet rocky coastline.
The calls didn't stop there. We experienced hundreds of calls pouring into our office and we issued a newsletter inside the same week for our clients, friends and loved ones. The following is an excerpt from that newsletter.
"Greetings Friends and welcome to our last newsletter of 2001. This issue is closing with tremendous contrast in our nation, especially since 'the occurrence' on September 11th, the day that changed everything. Since then our office has been flooded with calls, emails, and fax transmissions asking the same question. 'What can I do to contribute to the healing of our country?"
The reply is more simple and powerful than you might think. Instead of getting swept into the momentum of fear caused by this horrible and tragic event, choose peace, wellness and connection to Source.
PEACE "It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart."

Turn the other cheek. Meaning, choose to look at what you desire. Observe inspirational conditions that make you feel good. Project this inspired God Essence from your heart to all human beings. If you've attended Soul Awareness workshops you know the Universe is absolute, unconditional love. You also know that God is good and only brings humans more of that which they choose to observe, to contemplate or to imagine.
As humans, our Soul Point of communication with the Universe is through the feelings we project from our abdominal area, (a.k.a.-The Solar Plexus Megaphone)
In short, choose Love, Well-Being, Happiness, Freedom and Joy.
As humans choosing to contribute to the over all wellness of our planet, it's imperative that we radiate the essence of GOODNESS. Again, God is good and says YES to what we focus our attention upon. Think peace, beautiful interactions between people, understanding of differences, and clarity of thinking. It may sound crazy to love thine enemies however it is the only way to make positive change. Send compassion. Terrorism comes from ignorance, hate from a lack of love. We can't fight irrational people with rational thinking. That would be like trying to negotiate with the Germans speaking only Portuguese.
Friends, we've been given the freedom to pick thoughts and feelings that serve us. Let's use our full Human-Soul potential to create what we do want instead of what we don't want.
One solitary human focused on a simple act of kindness is more influential during this time of contradiction and conflict than all of the people in our country and across the world who are fighting for peace.
If watching negative images in the media makes you feel vulnerable and fearful, your Soul's Essence is encouraging you to shift your impressive focus to something that uplifts and internally strengthens you. When humans feel wellness they're greatly contributing to the truest essence of world peace.

Thank you for holding the VISION that ALL IS WELL. Dear Readers, We hold each of you near and dear to our hearts. We enjoy being part of this huge ENLIGHTENED family of human beings reaching for the STARS and achieving our DREAMS. We honor your unique spiritual contribution and wish you a joyous month.
The Little Things
After September 11th, as companies were able to regroup, one company invited the employees of other companies that had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share their office space. At the first morning meeting, the head of security shared the stories of some of the survivors.
As you might know, the head of one company was delayed because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike caused by a fender-bender.
One of them missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One's car wouldn't start.
One went back to answer the telephone.
One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.
One couldn't get a taxi.
The one that struck me the most was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, but before he got there he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. And that is the only reason that he is alive today. A blister saved his life!
Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss the elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone, or any of the other little things that annoy me-I think to myself, this is exactly where God/Love/Universe wants me to be at this very moment.
Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, or you hit every traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated; God/Love/Universe is at work watching over you. Feel blessed, you are!
May God/Love/Universe continue to bless you with all those annoying little things and may you remember their possible purpose.
Let's not wait until things are going wrong before we decide to appreciate. Or wait until someone we love is hurt or in dire straits before we let them know how much we love them. Since that September day, three years ago, I write at least one letter or thank you card each month to my friends, family and peers. I want them to know today why I am grateful they're in my life and appreciate them for the little and big things they share with me.
Choose to stand in your present moment and shine your true, authentic light to all people and to all things that you adore and appreciate. And while you're at it, be dang sure to include your radiant, wonderful self on that list of people receiving your compliments, well wishes, and loving words of encouragement.
"One kind word of genuine appreciation can change a life, a community and a nation when spoken from the heart."
