Throughout time, humanity has sought the quickest way to achieve ascension and go for the gold. In the esoteric world, "the gold" we speak of is known as the Philosopher’s Stone or the Heart of God within each human being bearing a soul. Dr. Homer Curtiss and his wife referred to the Philosopher’s Stone as the "Diamond Heart of God," in The Divine Radiance and in medieval days, it was called the Quest for the Holy Grail. The process whereby we transmute the lower fires of shadow and form into the higher understanding of the spirit within, leads to the discovery of what has always been right under our noses…that God is our co-Creator and we are one.
It continues to mystify me, on so many levels, that many of my clients ask the same question, "Who is my soul mate? Or, "Do I have a soul mate?" They ask this question often after discussing, most intimately, their belief that they have been brought forward in this lifetime to do great work or fulfill a divine destiny. It is a "message" I hear from so many that I am sure it is one of God’s most critical test questions whenever They consider opening the doors to ascending levels for any of Their children! I have been faced with this thought myself on many occasions. It is clear that we understand that our purpose is interwoven with God’s Plan but, somewhere along the road of life, we forget who the love of our life is and even forget our destiny.
About five years ago, I was asked to perform a wedding ceremony alongside of a conservative, Baptist minister because my client, the groom, preferred my philosophy and wished for his sacred union to be blessed with balance and meaning. As I had been raised among Southern Baptists, I had no fear of a competition of words but, I did have a difficult time trying to pin down the right message for my part of the ceremony. You see, I did not wish to ruffle feathers yet wanted to bring home to everyone present that the wedding was taking place in each and every heart simultaneously with the bride and groom. That like the Tin Man from Oz discovered, we were all earlier recipients of a Divine Heart.
I sat in the old church in the front pew while wedding decorators went about their work, asking God for a word or phrase to get me started. As I looked around the church, my eye was caught by two, thirteen foot panels located on either side of the front altar. I can’t tell you what was written upon the second panel on the right but, on the left-hand panel was written, "Thou shalt have no other God before ye." How I failed to notice these panels 40 minutes earlier still amazes me but, written in the words of the First Commandment was the sentiment for which I had been searching? By listening to "my" voice of God within, not the voice of Gwen the human, I recognized the real truth behind that great law manifested by Moses. The only God you will ever know is the one mirrored to you by every living thing and it will never be about the God of another, but, always about what you can see directly in front of you.
Two aspects of wisdom can be gleaned from this story. For me, it was the eye-opener, which had obviously been sitting before me all my life (How many times have you seen Cecil B. DeMille’s, "The Ten Commandments?"), and, I had only now noticed and comprehended the path to the Philosopher’s Stone…my gold. The only God you need to be one with is the one that is front and present within you. IT is the only One you can ever comprehend and fall in love with. For when you "get that," you begin to sparkle and glow like the gold you are becoming. It is important to contemplate a God that cannot be outside of you but, expresses Itself through your Divine Plan.
Secondly, I realized the path to ascension requires me to "hear" with my eyes and "see" with my ears. In other words, the Path or the Way must be felt. No amount of formal religious education or sermons from the pulpit or even esoteric study can help you on your Divine Quest until you are ready to listen with the Diamond Heart of God. Transmutation of the fodder of the human experience must be accomplished with every step along the road of life.
The Knights of Arthur’s Round Table entered The Forest Perilous, all from different entrance points but, all roads led to The Grail Castle. Their adventures were diverse, their characters were archetypal but, they all quested to find the gold. They all wanted to experience the sheer ecstasy and awe of coming face-to-face with their own true love. The divine reflection of their own God. For who could ever meet our total expectations, the ideal beauty and exact understanding of who we are but, God?
As we walk these roads together, much as rays of sunshine emanate as one to provide light and warmth, may we remember that the pursuit of our eternal soul mate will always attract a path of friendship, love, wisdom and growth. The Philosopher’s Stone of legend is a work in progress, stops along the road, not just a final destination. When you love you enough to worship the God within, to obey and honor Their commandments and seek joy through enhancing your own understanding of loving relationships, you stretch the mind and heart of the universe. But, you must listen first with your passion, not your chaotic thoughts.
Set up your great quest today, without delay. Acknowledge your golden possibilities, listen to the road map as it guides your every step and remember the burning bush of Moses.’ The golden flame of God is your comprehension of who you really are. Moses carried laws that he had created with his ancestors and his own Divine Plan. He was a true alchemist because he pursued and trusted the God he reflected, transmitted and walked as one with to the edge of the Holy Land, Canaan.
It is no small wonder, that after thousands upon thousands of years, gold still remains the element of the Divine Father and has not lost its value upon the currency market on Earth. Somehow we all know that the gold we seek represents riches far beyond what we can accumulate here on the earth plane. Why else would Jesus have attacked and thrown over the tables of the moneylenders? Like me, sweating over the wedding sermon, they could not see what was clearly right under their very noses. The power of The Philosopher’s Stone, the true reflection of their hearts and minds standing right before them.
