Psychic Feelers
As children we’re all born quite psychically aware, but as we grow up all too quickly, our minds are filled with external influences, from teachers to parents and of course the media. It’s our intuitive right side of the brain that gets used less and less, as the left side (the more analytical side) starts to take over. The result is that we pay less and less attention to our intuition to help guide us, and rely more and more on our physical senses to make decisions as we learn to rationalize.
Fortunately though, we’re all uniquely different and possess our own individual “special gifts” and talents, from artists, teachers, builders, admin assistants, to musicians, and even authors. The same can be said for your psychic ability. Each and every one of you will receive information in different ways, depending on your specific psychic strength.
After studying psychic awareness for many years, I’ve learned that we all have one or more psychic ability. In this article, I want to focus on the most popular psychic ability-which is known as: Clairsentience.
It’s quite natural that some of you will be more proficient in one area over the other. If you think your individual psychic aptitude is to become a feeler, then you should work to strengthen that ability before you try and move on to developing the other psychic senses. I’ve noticed that many students who participate in my workshops (as they are often beginners) believe that seeing is the best way to receive psychic information. Being a good feeler can also produce excellent results. With time and practice, and some patience, it will be possible to use all three primary psychic senses, so they work in unison. But, as you’re starting out, I want you to discover and work with your strength. This is the best way to begin building a solid foundation with your own individual psychic self.
Now let’s explore and understand the workings of this ability, and discover how you can tap in to it anytime you wish!
Clairsentience or Clear Feeling
This is the inner sense of knowing. Clairsentience is one of the more familiar psychic strengths, and relatively easy to develop and access. For example: Have you ever walked into a room where an argument has recently taken place, and you just feel it? Do you know why? It’s when the energy lingers on and you end up sensing the emotions that lead to that argument through your clairsentient ability. In other words, you’re feeling the turbulent, negative energy of that recent argument. Here’s another example. Let’s say you’re introduced to someone for the first time in a social gathering and you immediately get that uneasy feeling. It’s not so hard to grasp what you’re sensing. You just know you’re not really going to bond with that person. What’s actually happening is, you’re receiving thoughts and feelings from that persons’ aura, which are then transmitted through your solar plexus, the abdomen area (which is one of the chakras, which I describe in detail in chapter six), resulting in what we so often call “that gut feeling”, which in this case is a form of clairsentience. Sometimes, we rationalize it by saying. “I don’t think we have anything in common at all.”
Indicators of being Clairsentient:
· Are your feelings hurt easily?
· When sitting in a room, do you feel when the furniture is not positioned right?
· When meeting someone, you just intuitively know that something is wrong, even though they appear happy.
· When you’re driving, do you sense when you should take a particular route, only to find out later that there was a terrible traffic-jam, had you taken the original route.
· Are you the person that everyone goes to when they’re feeling down, when they need to get something off their chest?
These are all potential signs of a clairsentients’ sensitivity. Many people who are feelers will also receive other people’s stuff and by stuff, I mean, information from outside themselves. If your natural psychic inclination is to feel, it’s also quite probable that you’ll pick up vibrations from other people, which will have an effect on your own outlook. There’s a cautionary note that I need to make here. If your temperament is usually one of an upbeat personality, and for some inexplicable reason you start feeling down (even though there’s nothing happening around you to cause this), try approaching it from a different angle. Instead of asking yourself, “What’s wrong with me?” try asking yourself, “Who is wrong with me?”
It’s often the case that you’re actually tuning into feelings or the vibrations from someone else, without even knowing it. Your psychic ability can and wants to help you. Next time this happens, stop for a few minutes, focus on your solar plexus area and ask yourself, “Whose feelings are these”? As you do this, see if an image of someone comes to mind. It could be anyone, from your mom, a best friend, neighbour or even a co-worker. Try calling them and ask how they are? You may be surprised to find out that they’re the one who’s feeling down. If you are clairsentient, it’s likely that you will pick up other peoples’ emotions whether happy or sad.
We live in a society that’s less prone to hugging, touching or embracing each other. A clairsentient needs to touch and feel things physically. This benefits your psychic ability. The hands are wonderful receptors of energy. The next time you meet someone new, look into their eyes, reach out and shake their hand and make a real connection. Equally, when you meet a friend, give them a big hug. Just being aware of your clairsentience and the subtle ways you receive information, will help you in so many ways, and provide a wonderful tool to help find the answers to those unanswered questions.
Exercise
When you’re about to make an important decision, whether it’s about a new relationship, buying a new car, a home, or a business decision, then focus on your clairsentient conduit your solar plexus and try the following exercise.
First, find somewhere quiet and comfortable to sit.
Close your eyes and hold your hands over your solar plexus area. Imagine this area of your body is slowly filling up with beautiful yellow light. When you feel settled and comfortable ask yourself, “How do I feel about this decision?” or, “How do I feel about this person?” See if a feeling or an image comes to mind. Ask yourself, “Does it feel positive or negative?” If you feel uneasy about what you’re feeling, then ask again, “Why am I uneasy?” The more specific the questions, the more specific the answers may be.
Now that you have a better understanding of clairsentience and know how to access this ability, experiment in any area of your life you wish. This ability can become highly tuned or if necessary, you can turn it down to decrease your psychic sensitivity. Just focus on your solar plexus and imagine the yellow light getting smaller. Once you’ve practiced working with your clairsentience, try going for walks in the country and open yourself up to feel the outdoors and all its beauty. Since everything is made up of energy, you will quickly learn to feel it all.
PSYCHIC TIP
RELAXATION
Relaxing the body will assist you in stilling your mind and tapping into your intuition. Find a peaceful place to sit and take a slow breath. Close your eyes and imagine a brilliant white light entering your feet from the ground. Let the light travel up your calves, your legs, your back, your head, down your shoulders, your arms, and out through your fingers. Let the light relax every part of your body. Use this technique anytime you’re feeling tense or stressed.
Affirmations:
“I AM beginning to develop my clairsentient ability.”
“I safely receive and feel only what is best for me, as well as others.”
See you next month for our continuing journey of discovery. Do something wonderful today for yourself you deserve it!

John Holland is an internationally renowned psychic medium, who has been lecturing, demonstrating and reading for private clients for over 14 years. He is dedicated to an ongoing development of his unique gift and takes his work very seriously. John says, "If I can help people connect with someone on the other side, and bring peace, comfort and perhaps some closure, then I've done my job."
"Mediumship is more than just delivering messages", he says, "it's about the confirmation that once our physical body dies, our 'spirit' lives on, and how the spirits of our relatives, friends and loved ones are still connected to us."
John, author of best selling BORN KNOWING & PSYCHIC NAVIGATOR is keen to promote the difference between being a psychic and a medium. In Psychic Navigator, John teaches the reader the mechanics of their inner awareness in a new way. PN includes many fascinating exercises from Johns popular workshop series, as well as an accompanying meditation CD. John believes that it is essential to understand how to integrate ones psychic abilities, so that they help to guide the reader in all areas of their personal and professional lives, so they truly understand that they ARE spiritual beings with limitless potential.
As for the difference between being a psychic and a medium, a psychic can draw information from your aura, which can provide knowledge about both current and future events, whereas a medium is the conduit between the spirit world and the physical world - the connection, and as John so often calls it - a 'soul to soul connection'.
Using this linking process, spectacular results have been achieved, with clients throughout North America, Canada, Europe, and Australia. He is a regular guest on radio shows across the USA. His story was originally profiled on CBS "Unsolved Mysteries and the success of Born Knowing and Psychic Navigator has enabled him to captivate audiences throughout the world.
Johns public demonstrations provide his audience with a unique glimpse into this fascinating subject, which he delivers with a mix of his distinctive style of humor, together with a sense of pure intensity. As he loves to tell his audiences, they want to talk to you as much as you want to talk to them its crowded up here!
Many words have been used to describe John, from compassionate to insightful, humorous to tender, captivating to mesmerizing. His charismatic personality has become the trademark for his delivery technique, and his ability to link with spirit is a fascinating and breathtaking experience to witness.
