Body Mind & Spirit
with John Holland
Internationally Renowned Psychic Medium

by John Holland
Your Loved Ones Are Just A Thought Away

Now that summer is upon us and the days are longer and the weather is warm and sunny, families and friends are coming together excitedly for long awaited vacations, barbecues, lazy days at the beach listening to children laugh and play, and to simply take time to relax and enjoy being with those you care for and love. Summer has a way of bringing us closer together, somehow making us feel hopeful, uplifted, and inspired to enjoy life. But amidst all the joy and celebrations during this special time, we can be acutely aware of our friends and loved ones who have passed and are missing these special moments in our lives. But I can tell you, in the many years that I have been a medium, people who I have spoken with and the messages that I have received from the Other-Side have proven to me that our loved ones are in fact – still with us!

I know it’s hard not to have them physically here with you. But they are right beside you in spirit and they try to get your attention to validate this very fact. Trust me when I say, they want to talk to you - as much as you want to talk to them! They try their hardest to let you know that they love you, are fine and well on the Other-Side, and are truly just a thought away. The truth is that we do receive communication and signs from our loved ones who have passed all the time through ADC’s (After Death Communications). Thousands of people around the world from all walks of life have experienced this form of communication.

ADCs come to us in many different forms. One of the most frequently experienced ways they may come to you is in your dreams. Because your conscious mind takes a break when you are sleeping, you are more open and receptive to information and messages you might subconsciously receive. However, not every dream you have of your loved one is an actual message, it could simply be your mind working through the bereavement process. When people see those on the Other-Side in their dreams, the message is usually fast and simple: “I love you.”, “I am fine.”, “Please go on and know that I am with you.”

But dreams are not the only way in which we receive ADCs. You may feel a loved one in your presence, or you may hear your name being called whether it is loud or simply a whisper. Sometimes it’s a touch, or smells such as your loved ones perfume or cologne, pipe tobacco or cigarettes if they smoked, or you may even catch the scent of their favorite lotion or flower. Many people who have no psychic or mediumistic ability will often have a quick glimpse of the person, and occasionally some are surprised to see them standing at the foot of the bed appearing very healthy and happy.

Another great way they will get you to acknowledge them is through electricity. Since everything is made up of energy and they too are in fact energy no longer within the confines of a human body, it is easy for them to make lights flicker, manipulate televisions, phones, etc. But please, I encourage you to stay grounded with this and make sure you check the light bulb and fuses to ensure that this is not an electrical issue. Not every flicking light or scramble of your television is going to be an ADC.

Another form of communication, which is also quite common, occurs when you are thinking of someone specific who has passed and suddenly you turn on the radio – and their favorite song is playing. All of these are signs to watch for and consider. Too many of us want those on the Other-Side to appear in the form and manner in which we are comfortable. Pay attention to the subtle signs, you never know… it could be the message you are so desperately wanting to receive. Always remember: When out of the blue you are thinking of a loved one who has passed, it could very well be at that exact moment – they are thinking of you.

I would like to share the story of a woman who came to see me for a private reading to illustrate our ongoing connection with our loved ones. This woman had lost her daughter and yet she is still connected with her child, her daughter continually makes her presence known to her. Here is the story of the “Pink Princess.”

She walked into the cabin that was serving as my makeshift office and sat down with her hands folded quietly in her lap. Victoria was a lovely 50-year-old woman who hailed from the Napa Valley where she ran one of those quaint shops full of trinkets and treasures. From the start, it was obvious that she was alone on the cruise and she looked exceptionally sad. Later, I would find out that life certainly hadn’t been easy for the single mother who had weathered hardships no one should have to face.

“Who is known for being an artist in the family? I have someone who has passed who was truly a great painter.”

Victoria gathered all her courage to say out loud, “Why, my sister Judy was an artist who loved to paint.”

“I also have your mom and dad here. They’ve been gone a long time.” Victoria’s hand flew to her heart and she began to smile.

“Mom and Dad want me to tell you that they’re here for you – and they’re here with someone else who is very special to you,” I said.

Victoria sat so still that it was as if she was a statue. She had attended this psychic cruise hoping it would be some sort of comfort after a year spent crying, mourning and whispering the words, “Why her?”

“I see a young girl who passed quickly – very quickly. In fact, she was moving at great speeds when she passed, but it wasn’t in a car. It was such a strange accident that it was in many newspapers.” At this point, I felt an odd stirring. “She hit her back, right?”

Victoria nodded, the sadness now consuming her face. In fact, her sorrow had been mostly a private affair in the last year and the single mother had plenty of empty space to yell, scream, and look up into the sky for answers.

“My daughter died last year,” Victoria finally blurted out and her face twisted into agony so strong that it was almost palpable.

“Whose birthday cake am I seeing? I see the number 22,” I told her in a quiet voice.

“She would have been 18 on the 22nd of the month she died,” Victoria said, composing herself because her natural curiosity was taking over in a big way. At that point, I knew that I found the biggest chunk of information that would certainly convince her that the spirit of her daughter was here.

“She died in the water and she was moving very fast. And now I feel tingling in both my back and neck. What is happening here?”

It was then that Victoria told me that the light of her light, her 18-year-old daughter named Quimby (Swedish for “life saving”) passed away on a school outing at a local amusement park. The honor roll student was looking forward to high school graduation and starting college the following fall. She knew her entire life was ahead of her and now it was time to just blow off some steam, which coincided in the happiest way with a school field trip to a local amusement park. Quimby and her friends always loved the water rides and since this was a hot California day, they chose to go down a massive slide, which tosses riders into a huge pool.

On this particular day, the girls wouldn’t reach the water safely. In a horrendous accident, the slide snapped in two while the girls were rushing down it at speeds up to 70 miles an hour. Quimby was the only one who was killed that day although many of her classmates were in critical condition with serious injuries for many months.

“She was a princess – your princess. And for some reason she’s surrounding herself right now with the color pink,” I told Victoria and then I stopped to listen for a minute to Quimby’s spirit before I said to her mother, “I keep hearing the name ‘Girly Girl.’ What is that all about?”

“My daughter liked pink frilly stuff. She was very feminine. It was a wonderful part of her personality. I also called her Girly Girl. She signed her notes to me, ‘Love your Girly Girl,’” Victoria said, fighting back the tears, but she couldn’t hold them in for long.

“Your daughter wants you to know that she’s in no pain. She didn’t even know what was happening during the accident. It happened that quickly and she felt none of it. She also wants you to know that she has been sending you warm greetings because you don’t like to ….what does this mean? You don’t like to turn on the heat?

With that Victoria actually laughed because she knew exactly what I meant.

“The one and only thing my daughter and I fought over was the fact that I refused to turn on the heat until November 1. I wanted to save money on the bills because I was a single mother. Well, Quimby was always freezing in September and would try to sneak downstairs and turn it on. When I’d sneak down and turn it back off, she would walk around the house in her winter coat as a protest. Well, last September after she passed, I came down on the first chilly morning and the heat was on. I live alone now and I know I didn’t turn it on.”

“Mom, your girly girl is laughing now. She also wants to tell you to be happy. She wants to give you a hug and tell you that’s she’s fine. Quimby also wants you to inform your ex-husband that she will visit him, too, when his cold gets better.”

“He always used to get colds this time of the year.”

“Most of all Mom, Quimby is so proud of how you’re trying to help other kids not get hurt at amusement parks.”

It turns out that after Quimby’s death, Victoria began spending several days a week denoting her time to hospices and also working to pass stricter safety laws when it comes to aging California amusement parks and their dangerous rides. Quimby says, “Way to go Mom, and keep up the good work because everyone deserves a mother just like you. She feels lucky that of all the Moms in the universe, she got the best one possible.”

“Quimby also says to start writing your book. You should do it now,” I said. “Your daughter says so.”

It was true that Victoria had always planned to write a book, but in her grief over her daughter’s death, she felt paralyzed. “Now knowing that Quimby is safe and her spirit lives on, I can go on,” Victoria says. “I’ll do it for my Girly Girl.”

Psychic Tip

DREAMS

Our subconscious continuously speaks to us through our dreams. Dreams are an excellent way in which our intuitive mind communicates with us. I strongly encourage you to start keeping a dream journal. Before you go to sleep tonight, ask your intuition a specific question that you need answered. As soon as you awaken and before your feet touch the floor, write in your journal what you dreamed of during the night, what stood out in the dream, the people, places, but most importantly - the emotion you felt in the dream. Try to interpret what your dream is telling you, and look for intuitive symbols and answers to your question.

Affirmations:

“My dreams speak to me nightly and I will retain the information.

“I am opening myself up and want to reclaim my natural intuitive abilities.”

See you next month for our continuing journey of discovery. Do something wonderful today for yourself – you deserve it!

Internationally Renowned Psychic Medium,
Teacher & Author

John Holland is an internationally renowned psychic medium, who has been lecturing, demonstrating and reading for private clients for over 14 years. He is dedicated to an ongoing development of his unique gift and takes his work very seriously. John says, "If I can help people connect with someone on the other side, and bring peace, comfort and perhaps some closure, then I've done my job."

"Mediumship is more than just delivering messages", he says, "it's about the confirmation that once our physical body dies, our 'spirit' lives on, and how the spirits of our relatives, friends and loved ones are still connected to us."

John, author of best selling BORN KNOWING & PSYCHIC NAVIGATOR is keen to promote the difference between being a psychic and a medium. In Psychic Navigator, John teaches the reader the mechanics of their inner awareness in a new way. PN includes many fascinating exercises from John’s popular workshop series, as well as an accompanying meditation CD. John believes that it is essential to understand how to integrate ones psychic abilities, so that they help to guide the reader in all areas of their personal and professional lives, so they truly understand that they ARE spiritual beings with limitless potential.

As for the difference between being a psychic and a medium, a psychic can draw information from your aura, which can provide knowledge about both current and future events, whereas a medium is the conduit between the spirit world and the physical world - the connection, and as John so often calls it - a 'soul to soul connection'.

Using this linking process, spectacular results have been achieved, with clients throughout North America, Canada, Europe, and Australia. He is a regular guest on radio shows across the USA. His story was originally profiled on CBS "Unsolved Mysteries” and the success of Born Knowing and Psychic Navigator has enabled him to captivate audiences throughout the world.

John’s public demonstrations provide his audience with a unique glimpse into this fascinating subject, which he delivers with a mix of his distinctive style of humor, together with a sense of pure intensity. As he loves to tell his audiences, “they want to talk to you as much as you want to talk to them – it’s crowded up here!”

Many words have been used to describe John, from compassionate to insightful, humorous to tender, captivating to mesmerizing. His charismatic personality has become the trademark for his delivery technique, and his ability to link with spirit is a fascinating and breathtaking experience to witness.

2005 sees the publication of John’s third book, entitled:

“101 WAYS TO JUMP START YOUR INTUITION”
