Intuitive Message
at the Scorpio/Taurus Full Moon
by Julia Bondi

The season of mourning is upon us. Loss is in the air, sadness is in our hearts and deep fatigue is in our bodies. The clocks have changed, the darkness comes early now and the year’s ending is approaching. The year that began with catastrophe has been one of death and continuing horrors. Death and tragedy have stalked us across the globe.

The full moon of Scorpio/Taurus is the time to stop our activities, step outside our habits and to turn toward the darkness. Scorpio calls on us to mourn our dead and dying, to look squarely at the terror visiting our world and at the fear and loss that have consumed this year. Nature has brought us fierce and destructive storms, disastrous earthquakes, and a massive tsunami while humanity has continued to create wars, terrorism, policies based on greed, manipulation of the poor and vulnerable and endless deceit. Speaking truth to power is in scarce supply in our modern world. It is easy to observe this appalling deficit in our times. Yet our first concern must be to enter our own darkness – our greed, our self absorption, our deceit and our fear that what is happening to others might happen to us. It is both so easy and so painful to turn away. But do we then turn within and take responsibility for our darkness. This is the journey which prepares us to be fearless in the world and to fully give of ourselves.

Authentic mourning demands a cessation of doing, an opening to feeling, and a surrender to pain and trusting that healing and awareness will be revealed through this ritual. Grief, tears, anguish, ever more fear…..where is all this loss taking us. So many who hurt so much throughout our world…what is the awareness being forged through these seemingly endless disasters. Scorpio brings us to our knees reminding us in its powerful devastation that we are mortal, that we do have limits and that we are capable of doing great harm. We are also capable of doing great good. This year has shown us both sides of our humanness.

At this full moon Scorpio’s light is reflected to us through the Taurus moon. Taurus carries the truth of constancy, and calls on us to marshal all of our resources to care for those in need while Scorpio trumpets the profound call for change. Attachment to our ways of living, being and doing have reached a natural limit and the earth is speaking. The Taurus archetype reveals our attachments yet it provides the fullness of the life force which contains life and the creative potential of nature while Scorpio reminds us of the futility of trying to hold back change. Death is inevitable but how we live until we die is a choice. We are being asked to look into the face of all that we do not wish to see in ourselves and our world and to see through the darkness of Scorpio to the open third eye of Taurus illuminating the way forward. There is an easier, truer way to live in cooperation with each other and the earth. The true path to the light is through the darkness. This is the great wisdom of Scorpio/Taurus.
