Today we need to see ourselves as wandering Immortals not bound by much tradition. Free to roam in space and time, uninhibited by our past, with open hearts and a strong commitment to say “I am willing……,” we follow where the energy is moving. This stance of the Hero/Savior archetype “fires up” in us an impetus for action when something is finished or goes stale. This is the attitude of Divine Innocence, a form of continual humility in all our relations, a quality sorely missing in so many of our leaders today.
As things begin to change, we usually attempt to hold on to the ways of the past. Yet the message of any true Hero is to know “there is a greater life awaiting on the other side of the hill” and when to seek it. When we are willing to just “let go and let God,” we are indeed being willing to adventure in cavalier faith toward what is to be our next unfolding. We embrace the future with an optimism not deterred by fear or feeling bad about mistakes of the past.
When we are willing to release the chains that bind us to our old ways, we’re often surprised at what having a heroic experimental attitude can bring. The Hero/Savior archetype is always un-programmed by culture, tribe, and society. A compelling curiosity continually moves one toward the fulfillment of an ideal. Though aren’t we often surprised at how this comes about?
This is an important time for seeking guidance from within through prayer and meditation. It’s a time to anchor Divine Love and Wisdom on the earth plane to help bring our planet to its next rightful station on its evolutionary journey. No longer can we live in separatism and fear. Battling each other as though we are enemies violates the Law of Unity in Diversity, which bespeaks of our true identity. The Hero/Savior archetype looks like the Fool as we each become willing to let go of our old ways of thinking and dive wholeheartedly into a state of cosmic surrender, trusting that divine guidance will lead the way.
Here’s an exercise you can use to check out the concepts and opinions you hold in your mind: Spend a whole day just walking around using your Observer Self consciousness to watch your thoughts. As they flow in and out of your mind, remember that you are not your thoughts; you are the Watcher of what goes in and out of your mind. As you do this, two things can happen: you can rise to your higher stature as a spiritual being currently living in a human body. And you can also clean up any negative or useless, outworn thinking you may be carting around, unexamined and harmful to your growth.
Today’s awakening pilgrim can see the future coming through the innocent eyes of a child. Is this a time in your life when you’re being called to “pick up your knapsack” and move on? Perhaps this Biblical scripture: “Except ye come to me as a little child, you cannot enter the kingdom” applies to this archetypal Force.
