Divination Systems: Be Your Oracle
Make Your Own Harvest
|
|
 |
by James Wanless, Ph.D |
|
|

To be your own oracle means to fulfill your own prophecy. The "self-fulfilling prophecy" principle is so well known and widespread that I even heard it on Sports Radio the other day by a baseball broadcaster. Wow.
Self-fulfilling prophecy means knowing what you want and then taking action to cultivate that into a harvest.
We know this is true, but it sure helps to have a support group, allies who champion you and keep you moving. Just recently I found out again how important it is to have confirmation and motivation from others for your endeavors. This I re-learned as I did 40 five-minute Readings for a hospital's employee appreciation day.
I was totally amazed that despite all the many and wonderful activities being offered at the venue, we six intuitive Readers all had lines of people waiting for their Reading. They waited and waited, in the heat, all for a few minutes of personal attention.
I am almost in a state of shock that so many people (and these are nurses, doctors, secretaries, etc. of a really great hospital) were in such a high state of anxiety over their job and financial security. That these people need some kind of re-affirmation about their worrisome future shows me how few people are self-confident and life-trusting, and have the need to talk with somebody (outside their work and family) about their situation.
This is where we oracles come in. With a positive attitude and an insightful way of seeing through the cards or signs, a world of good can be done. It's so much easier than you might think. Most of the cards in tarot are optimistic (every classic tarot deck has 12 so-called negative cards... and even those have positive aspects), strong and suggest opportunity, so we can read the cards literally, and they always bring hope and new strength!
Wet tarot readers/consultants and seers have a great need to fulfill. I had always put down these quickie kind of five minute Readings, but not after the other day. It doesn't take much time. A lot can be said quickly and impactfully.
If you haven't tried reading the cards for others, please treat yourself to this way of finding serious fulfillment for yourself and others. What a service, what a legacy you can bring about.
Now, this being the month of harvest time, what better subject to explore than harvesting ourselves, our gifts, our work, our projects, our relationships.
I have created a few questions below which will help you harvest your life and receive the bounty you desire and deserve. You can use cards or runes or stones or bones, or even your own intuition without any tools, to answer the harvesting questions below.
Keep in mind that harvesting is about NOW. Get things done Now! And harvesting suggests work. It takes ACTION! By taking action on what harvest we want to complete, we do become our own oracle and self-fulfill the prophecy. We turn fortune-telling into "fortune creation."
What do you need to get done and complete with what action?.... (Sometimes we get stuck on the action to take and this is where picking tarot cards face down give us new insight and spark).
Now, I have always enjoyed writing, and because of my blog sites, I am writing more and more. I don't know in my judgmental mind if I'm so good at it, but since I like it, I'll do it! What we like to do is usually what we are gifted at, and the harvest time means picking and packaging the gifts of life.
What are action are you taking to harvest your "personal gifts" now?...
I always talk and write about the absolute imperative of "RE"... the ability to renew, reinvent, regenerate yourself and keep going. My secret is always looking for inspiration as the way for recreating myself, my relationships, my work. Inspiration makes things fly. And so, I've recently found new inspiration a vision of having people communicate and create a community of wholeness healers. (see http://www.journeyofwholeness.com/)
What action are you taking now that you have learned from life experience and that is paying off for you now?...
I remember through from my days of working in fruit canneries during the summer in San Jose, California that the apricots that fell to the floor and/or that were rejected were swept up. They became the jams and jellies that we savor. Turn your waste into your wealth. When the fruit falls, it putrifies. But compost your
negligences. Nothing is wasted.
What opportunity and works in progress did you let slip away from your harvest tree, with what action now can you use those droppings?...
We are so, so, so fortunate to be living as we are. I've always felt that the best prayer is to give thanks and to give back, share our gifts and our resources.
What in your life will you give back to show your gratitude and share your wealth?...
Thank you all for giving me this opportunity to share my gift of writing.
