We are indeed moving into the Age of Synthesis quite rapidly now. So it's getting harder and harder to take a one-sided stance against the patriarchal era we've been immersed in for the past 200 years. The misuse of feminine power and psychism runs throughout our history, too, just as has the misuse and imbalances of masculine power. Think of the stories we hear about the old Matriarchy! Science, logic, analysis, and objectivity do have their place. Without the Masculine principle alive and well in each of us, we'd be lost in feelings and murky psychism, not supplemented by the reflection and rational insight that culminate in wisdom. Where wisdom reigns there is no conflict between thinking and feeling. And where synthesis reigns there is no conflict between the masculine and feminine principles. They live harmoniously inside us as two opposites being one. A perfect symbol for this is the Yin/Yang of Chinese philosophy.
Seen from a bird's eye view, we can sight the Masculine/Feminine Principles each "doing their thing" just perfectly, era by era, Twin Souls that they are! Every era we pass through reveals its dark side to us so we can see our extremes and heal the shadow. This is the divine purpose of extremes and of any kind of two-ness. On this planet, unfortunately, we learn through "the nots." So we must actually experience things to know them. If we were never to explicate the extremes, we couldn't know what we're dealing with or how to create balance and loving relationships.
During this patriarchal era, the divine archetypal Feminine brought us to the place in history where the female went subservient, got abused, and let the male have his way with her, all for a sacred Purpose, to show us the shadow side of masculine power. Fortunately, this era has about completed its purpose here. Over-reactivity toward "the poor woman" and needing to bash males no longer works, either, however. This can be viewed as having a "hardened masculine" living inside a female, which displays the very patriarch we're so desirous of smashing. Since all humans contain both a masculine and feminine principle inside them, this over-reaction toward male power can be the sign of a disowned or wounded masculine principle in a female. So we must be honest and clear about where our hostility is truly lodged. Who wounded me in this lifetime? How do I deal with my own power? What unrealized potential in me is crying out to be expressed? What am I projecting upon the entire masculine population?
Gender issues, we've outgrown. Most people, in fact, are getting very bored now with male bashing and gender wars. Any imbalance in the Masculine/Feminine pole will always simply point to where we ourselves are not healed. When carrying this part of the shadow, we will burst out in projection against the opposite sex, just to show us our wound. Seeing it is how it starts to heal. Take a moment now, and reflect on what shadowy patterns come through your own family chain. And when you recognize a pattern, you can redeem it by making it conscious, for yourself, for your gender, and for the world. What got me so "hooked?" you can ask yourself anytime you have an over-reaction. Looking at one's own "stuff" around this instead of criticizing someone else is good shadow work that will help heal us all. And yes, because She can read people with amazing accuracy, the Feminine Principle can be quite manipulative as well. The Feminine archetype is both the dark and the light. Her closeness to nature enables her to walk into the dark with no fear of its awesome power. The Shadow as an archetype takes hold of us and invites us to apprehend something beyond its usual plane of experience and thought -- to a profound meditation -- to a spiritual exercise. This, the Feminine knows well, while the Masculine can bypass the Shadow in complete silence, because logic forbids something to be both black and white. So the Feminine Principle is the one who holds that part of the unconscious and darkness that gives birth to illumination. The new Feminine can be both the moon and the sun. She can change tears, sorrows and all our disappointments into the wisdom of experience through the light of understanding.
Bonding with other "wounded women" without some balancing force present is also quite dysfunctional and can exaggerate the problem. It is a trap that feeds on itself. Many women today are "getting over it," and owning their part in how they have given their power away to men or to female authority figures who carry a hardened masculine energy. Some are still just really mad, though, and that's okay, as long as they are willing to own their anger and what it symbolizes. This healing unfolds in its own time. From now on, though, we must strive to never perceive the feminine as "a victim." I'm sure you realize you cannot be a victim without playing out its opposite as well. Victim/perpetrator live on the same pendulum, two sides of one lesson. The warlike victim stance of needing to bash males and be a savior of all women is an enormous lack of respect for the Feminine Principle.
As She emerges now in this Age of Synthesis, the new Feminine is strong, and stands alongside the Masculine in equality, knowing Her qualities are sorely needed today. She is consciously receptive, all-inclusive, highly clairvoyant, and openhearted. Because She can see the big picture the divine Feminine does not get caught up in either/or warlike win or lose dynamics. She can help us heal our world. The modern Feminine Principle is clear and stands alongside the male in Her rightful strength and compassion, consciously awake and active both day and night. However, the new Feminine never shows us all our pitiless, discrete faults in the harsh, glaring light of day. She'll use the moonlight instead, where She will magically transform little things into big meanings, and soften all colors, blending them into an unsuspected unity. For instance, it takes a very moon-like feminine consciousness indeed to hold a large family together, in spite of all the individual differences, so that the harmonious relation of all the parts to the whole is not disturbed, but rather, is enhanced.
The new Feminine is not a part of the devouring, atavistic "Old Mother" archetype. She's not part of the past at all. She is a solar archetype, not lunar; the new Feminine is coming in from the future. Having passed through the matriarchy, which gave us clairvoyance and subjectivity, then, the patriarchy, which gave us science and objectivity, our egos are now "quickened" to meet the new Feminine Principle and take Her in as a natural part of ourselves, regardless of gender. We can now become intuitive scientists in the spiritual worlds, birthing a new kind of clairvoyance that doesn't just unconsciously "ooze around" loving the drama in an undifferentiated manner. And hopefully, we're about to birth a synthesis that honors the subjective as well as the objective life as valid. The new Feminine brings order to unnecessary chaos that can continually tear things up for no reason. This order already resides inside each of us, just awaiting its recognition.
The Masculine power rides on the back of the Dragon lashing out at his opponents with a raised sword. The Feminine power rides on the back of the Dragon, tickles his ear and whispers loving messages to him. He so adores her, he settles into a watchful protector who rarely has to strike.
Once the Masculine/Feminine Principle balances in us, there is no longer a need to be dramatic and reactive in any type of war. We identify as one Humanity, a group of souls working toward synthesis.
Ultimately, to ever be whole, we must each undergo the divine Marriage of the inner Royal Couple to fully individuate as our true Self. It's this inner way we're called to focus on now instead of the outer way of projection. You may be a Bride preparing for your own Royal Wedding. If so, this kind of inner work preoccupies you, and makes you very joyful, able to see both sides of every polarity from a wider view of true compassion. The marriage of the Masculine and the Feminine within us is our final step in standing tall right here in this world as our whole Self.
The healing and balancing of our own Masculine/Feminine pole is our responsibility as we enter this coming Age. Otherwise, how are we ever to achieve harmony within ourselves or between the sexes? As our egos quicken and look upward, our soul takes this Initiation, and we expand. I believe this initiatory task is happening for many today, not only personally, but globally as well. And right now, the Shadow is up in all its extremes to be recognized, integrated and healed. This new Feminine is so badly needed in today's war-ravaged world. Let's make calling Her out our prayerful Invocation!
