The Fear Factor
|
|
 |

The fear discussed here today is the fear that overwhelms us, puts us out of balance, and sometimes makes us lose that sacred connection we have within ourselves. If we take a step back and realize that fear is simply an energy, perhaps we can look at using fear as an instrument that helps generate and implement change and transformation.
Fears can be big or little, at times feeling insurmountable, but know that all fear has its roots in helping you to expand into the new spaces you are avoiding. Historically, we like to have an external enemy or adversary to whom we can assign the origins of this fear; but what if these roots actually lie within us. Perhaps there is an experience or a lesson we need to undertake or learn and the optimal way for us to proceed is on the wings of fear.
THE WINGS OF FEAR
We have given so much power to fear that this little four letter word has generated its own enormous life force. There is much fear on the planet: within ourselves, our families, our environment, and our global community. Many are aligning themselves unconsciously with the frequency of fear and this continues to grow at an alarming rate.
Fear can and does move swiftly, and at times, if unabated, seems to have a wingspan that can cover our life, our being, and our world. It is often accompanied by despair and hopelessness: expecting the worst to happen and quite frankly sometimes it does. But the question is: is it fear that has manifested the outcome or is it solely your belief that has?
Some fear in our life can and does have a healthy impact. It can keep us safe. It can be an initiator getting us to move if we’ve been in one place too long or have started to edge towards stagnation. We become divorced from ourselves when fear starts to smother us and leave us feeling helpless and alone. For some, brought up in an atmosphere of fear, it’s almost like fear kept growing until it reached the point where it dictated the decisions made, directions ventured to, who they allowed themselves to be.
LIVING IN THE SHADOW
Whether fear creates a shadow that looms over your life in an ominous way, or whether it only creates wrinkles, the power you have with fear is the same power you exercise in so many aspects of your life. It is having the knowledge that you can use the energy of fear to create, manifest and change your world and your destiny.
Fear and what it represents can bring those repressed feelings to the surface. Sometimes when we are feeling stuck, a little complacent or stagnated, fear can revitalize the situation. It can also house a network of belief structures that can be quite detrimental. Fear can lead us into battle but we may soon forget what we’re battling for and become consumed by the chaos and negativity of the situation. Fear can tie us to the past and immobilize us in the present.
At different points in our life we have or will experience fear. Sometimes this can be genuine life threatening fear. Many times it is indescribable, an unknown factor, but somehow it is charting a course for us. When we walk blindly with fear allowing it to become a comrade in arms, the tables turn in our life and we are no longer directing our own lives… fear has somehow taken hold of the controls and is in charge. It can make us drop to our knees and question ourselves unmercifully. The curious thing about fear is that it is rooted mainly in make-believe because much of what we fear does not truly exist.
BEFRIENDING FEAR
Fear can handcuff us to the status quo. Let’s look at it through a different prism. What can fear bring? The opportunity for change. What we mean is by consciously creating with fear, not creating more fear, but using those fear moments or spaces that we all encounter to become aware that fear can be approached and used in a positive manner to create positive changes.
As we select learning devices for what we need to undertake, most of us would not willingly or consciously choose fear as a partner for new learning. Instead of seeing it as an adversary in our life, one of the best ways of dealing with fear is to look upon it as a friend.
What helps us learn is not necessarily fear but the experience that fear brings. It is clearly an accelerator through our journeying to whatever destination we are making our way towards.
Many times we can become tangled up in the ways of the world. Clearly, there are moments when fear will have an overriding power in the course of our life. It is especially important that we take full advantage of the promise of this situation. Yes, I did say promise, because within fear or the moments of fear some extraordinary changes and transformations have occurred in each of our lives.
FEAR CREATES YOUR REALITY
So much of our experience with fear has nothing to do with the reality of the world we live in. We invest much time, energy and money in keeping these fears alive. Many spend time scaring themselves with things that never come to fruition.
Instead of terrorizing yourself with what might happen, or putting all your energy into being fearful about the worst case scenario, you redirect your focus to the positive and now consciously approach this energy in a new way.
We spend much time in focusing our energies on what we do not want or what we fear will happen, and then like magic it appears. Is it really that simple? I merely think about it and I manifest it? If you’re really honest with yourself, when you fear something be it a person or situation, your thoughts just don’t lightly touch on it, you’re thinking about it all the time, you’re focused on it, you’re chewing it up, you’re reliving it. You’ve inadvertently put a tremendous amount of energy and focus into manifesting it. You’ve actually earned the situation for yourself. That’s the bad news.
The good news is we’re going to change how you look at that situation. Instead of continually creating situations of pain and loss, you will now create situations that revitalize your life and your life force. The magic in this formula is very simple, the magic is you.
Once you have discovered how to befriend fear, next would come neutralizing your fear by turning it into part of your manifesting tool. This requires you to begin thinking in a different way. Being the conscious creator that you are, when these fear pockets come into your life, you will now devour them and use the energy to energize your life or your goals with a view to a very different outcome.
It is beginning to understand that endings are never true endings; they are in fact just a different facet of life.
You reeducate yourself to widen the parameters in your world. Part of the solution is learning to use fear as a catalyst instead of a block or barrier. You begin to widen your vision. Always expect the best. Learn to trust and understand that the universe will work with you in manifesting what you have set out for yourself or something even better.
Instead of fear being a negative and self sabotaging energy, you have now created an amazing tool to help move you forward.
