Living the Sixth Sense

As a practicing intuitive and spiritual teacher for over 34 years, I’ve spent most of my life helping people on a psychic level to realize that we’re all spiritual beings endowed with six, not five senses, and, even more important, that we need that sixth sense, our psychic sense, to fulfill our life’s purpose and be peaceful and happy.
My mission began as a child in Denver, Colorado, when I started doing one-on-one intuitive readings at the age of 12 for people at my kitchen table. Formal training in the psychic arts followed by apprenticing for many years with two spiritual and psychic master teachers, Charlie Goodman and Dr. Trenton Tully. In addition to this private, specialized teaching, I spent 25 years studying in the areas of religion, language, and mysticism, including Western Kabala, Western mysticism, Tarot, and World religion, to help me better understand our soul’s evolution.
Through all my training and experience I have come to fully understand what I refer to as people’s “throwaway” sense and how to call it back into our lives. Our sixth sense is not a physical sense like the other five, but is rather a spiritual sense connected to our soul body and centered in the heart. Just as our physical senses keep our body informed and directed our sixth sense’s primary function is to guide our soul’s growth and keep us connected to our Creator, our spirit guides, and our angelic assistants, who guide us in our path and purpose.
Our physical senses give us our feet and keep us earthbound. Our sixth sense, our vibes, or inner gut feelings, gives us our wings and teaches us to soar. Sadly, few people realize we have such an important spiritual sense, let alone know how to access or listen to it.
The price we pay for ignoring our vibes is high. We live in fear. We feel inadequate and powerless. We make decisions that aren’t good for us and lead us to places other than where we want to be. We become anxious and addictive. We act aggressively, even violently at times; toward those we love in their fear, thus alienating ourselves even more. We become stressed, even physically ill, and enjoy no real peace of mind. Wandering around lost in the darkness of second-guessing and worry, fearing life and fearing death, we fight against life or get trampled beneath it and fail to achieve our purpose or spiritual goals, thus wasting, instead of loving, our lives.
As an intuitive and healer, I can assure you that listening to your vibes, your psychic compass cures this. It establishes a direct link to your Creator and your spirit guides and helpers. It guides you safely to your path, connects you to right relationships, assists you in learning your spiritual secrets, guides you in your profession, keeps you safe and out of harm’s way, and helps you realize you are loved and accepted just as you are. Your psychic sense, your vibes, supports your creativity, helps heals your emotional wounds, and calms your anxious and uncertain heart. Through direction from your angels, guides, and Higher Self it brings you peace of mind and shows you how to live a higher, more harmonious, way.
Those who trust their vibes have several things in common. We listen to our helpers, spirit guides, and angels, those light beings devoted to our growth and healing and show us our proper place in the Universal scheme of things. We pay attention to and respect what we feel at all times even if it doesn’t make sense at the moment. We think, feel, and act on our vibes without question or hesitation unlike those who don’t. Listening to our vibes we are as attuned to the unseen world as we are to the physical one, maybe more so.
In fact I believe there are two species of human being on the planet right now; five-sensories-those who live in their ego and ignore their vibes, and six-sensories-those who live in their spirit and listen to and trust their vibes implicitly. Six sensories allow their vibes to lead day by day. Generally speaking, they are more creative, resourceful, and successful than five-sensories in every way. What I have observed most of all as a healer and guide is that six-sensories enjoy life more fully than those who are five-sensory.
Above all, six-sensories realize that love is the magic potion that gives us our wings. Trusting our vibes brings with it an innate sense of security, confidence, and courage that those stuck in a five-sensory paradigm fail to have. We know that our spirit lives on after death, so we do not fight against the tides of life, fearing death, and getting caught in the undertow of mortal anxiety. Rather, we surf the waves of life gracefully and with faith because we know we have help behind the scenes and we are eternal.
My mission has always been to serve as a teacher and bridge to others to lead them back to their inner psychic navigational system. There is a way to open up to a six-sensory life. You begin by making small decisions that teach you to listen inwardly instead of seeking direction outwardly. Practice listening to your inner voice until it becomes the primary voice that guides you by making these four most basic decisions.
1) Be open to your vibes. The minute you open your heart and mind to your vibes you become receptive. Like a radio broadcast, they are there. It’s your attention that needs to tune in. Once you open to your vibes, you tune in to their broadcast.
2) Expect your vibes to guide you. Expecting something creates a vacuum and the Universe abhors a vacuum. Therefore the minute you expect something, the Universe jumps in to fill the void. So when you expect vibes, you attract them.
3) Trust your vibes when they come. They way to do this is to carry a small pocket notebook with you for two weeks, and every time you get a gut feeling, an ah-ha insight or a flash write it down in your notebook. After two weeks you’ll have evidence that your vibes are trustworthy. And finally,
4) Act on your vibes when you get them. Don’t be a member of the woulda’ coulda’ shoulda’ club of regret. Take baby steps to act on your vibes every day. Do psychic sit-ups whenever you can, such as guessing the amount on the lunch tab, or which elevator will arrive first as a playful means to strengthen your psychic muscles. By doing this you’ll build confidence in your vibes one step at a time.
Most of all model yourself after six-sensory people you know. Do as they do, starting with enjoying your life. As a teacher, I love nothing more than to guide people to open their psychic lives. As a member of the human race, I feel it’s urgent that people wake up their psychic sense because without it we are making no sense at all. We are hurting one another, killing in the name of God, drugging ourselves in epidemic proportions, and living in isolated states while the world is overcrowding at record levels.
Trusting our vibes heals this because at its root it helps us see how we are all interconnected and interdependent, and therefore, “whatsoever we do to the least of our brothers that indeed we do to ourselves.” Being six-sensory serves as a great deterrent to the downward spiral of personal and global self-destruction we find ourselves tangled in today. When we trust our vibes we restore our balance and experience within. This ultimately leads to peace without.

Sonia Choquette is a world-renowned and highly spirited six-sensory author, story teller energetic healer, and intuitive teacher who specializes in helping others recognize that we are all endowed with a sixth sense that we can count on.
A masterful and humorous teacher committed to strengthening intuition in our daily lives, she is the bestselling author of seven books:
Diary of a Psychic,
The Psychic Pathway,
Your Heart's Desire,
The Wise Child, True Balance, Your Psychic Pathway to New Beginnings,
Your Psychic Pathway to Joy,
and numerous audio editions.
A highly trained six-sensory intuitive and life guide, with an extensive background in Eastern and Western mysticism, Sonia was educated at the University of Denver and at the Sorbonne in Paris, and holds a Ph.D. in metaphysics.
She says, "I am comfortably and competently intuitive because I was encouraged at all times to be awake, aware, and guided by my sixth sense. I grew up in an environment that treated the sixth sense as the first and most important of our senses. I view it not only as natural, but actually essential to successful navigation in life. Intuition is a gift that we all have, that we can all experience, that we can all trust and that we all need!"
In working with people for more than 32 years of almost daily one-on-one private consultations, Sonia insists that the sixth sense is natural to us all, but dormant in most. Whether we call them "hunches" or "feelings" or as she does, "vibes," everyone has them, but unfortunately most people dismiss or ignore them to their detriment.
As we try to adapt to the world we now live in, Sonia emphasizes that trusting our vibes, our sixth sense in action is "no longer optional. Awakening and strengthening our sixth sense is becoming more and more fundamental to our ability to live harmoniously with ourselves and others in the new world order."
Paying attention to the sixth sense-learning to listen to it, to trust it, to train oneself to call on its guidance-are the challenges facing six-sensory people trapped in a five-sensory culture.
Approaching human potential "from the inside, out," Sonia offers a unique brand of grounded and practical techniques for people to use in order to activate their most sense and let it lead their everyday life. Her mission, in other words, is to help people to "trust their vibes."
She guides them in how to build a psychic scaffolding to support their sixth sense so they can be more brilliant and effective than they've ever thought possible.
She teaches that our sixth sense's primary function is to guide our soul's growth and keep us connected to our path and purpose-without its direction, we lose our way.
In her first book, The Psychic Pathway, Sonia introduces us to our 'vibes." In her latest book, Trust Your Vibes, she shows you how to master them.
Sonia's own path has encompassed bestselling books published in more than 23 countries, speaking and conducting workshops around the globe, thousands of grateful clients, and a home in Chicago that she shares with husband Patrick Tully, daughters Sonia and Sabrina, and a poodle named Miss T.
