Healing and Intention,
Part Three

by Ann Marie Judge
LFor the past two months, I've covered different aspects of how to do an effective healing and the mindset around being a healer. In August, I came to the conclusion that the effectiveness of the intention, and thus the healing, is totally dependent on the healer's belief that it was effective. Then in September, I elaborated on August's idea to say that what a good healer always has is that essential one item-toolkit: confidence.

This month holds the long-awaited answer to what's really going on when your healing still just isn't working.

When Too Much Isn't Enough

Obviously there is something bigger than you going on. For one, there may be an energy blockage on their part as a result of a desire to not heal. Or, there may be something even larger at work: if a person is meant to incur some kind of pain or life circumstance, your intent to heal will simply pass through them.

In a perfect world, if you tried to heal someone who was not ready for the healing or could not accept it, they would say, “Thank you very much for the kind thoughts, but I'm just not able to accept it right now for such-and-such a reason.”

Unfortunately, the world is not that cut-and-dried.

As was discussed previously in this series, here is no negative affect for an undesired healing. If you intend to heal someone of cancer and they simply have chosen that through this disease they will learn a very important life lesson, your healing cannot alter the course of that decision.

Yes, the person can decide for himself that he desires another path to learn that lesson, but that's a whole other column!

If you send someone a healing that seems to do no good, know that even if the person isn't aware of your good intentions, their angels have thanked you gratefully and your work has been acknowledged.

Part of being a spiritual healer is knowing that sometimes the “good” and “bad” of life—beauty/pain, dark/light, contentment/dissatisfaction—aren't such simple labels. And it's easy to say that the worst pain in the world can really be the best thing for someone, but if that person is close to your heart, the “guilt factor” starts to sneak its way in.

To be a healer requires the same amount of loving detachment as does the work of a parent; to raise a child, you pour your heart into teaching and nurturing the child until the time when they are ready to take their knowledge into the world. Then, you have to give them over to greater powers and energies, knowing all the while that whatever happens is perfect for them in every moment.

Faith in guiding energies is the grace offered to the healer. As it is with all of life for a spiritual human, there is a great deal of peace that comes along with knowing that when you have done your utmost, you can offer your work back up to the Universe and it will be put to use exactly as it was meant to be. No need for guilt at a “failed” healing, no need for fear if it will work or not.

There is simply your peaceful, confident intention that sends out a wave of healing energy; in the tiny moment it took for you to have that thought, the healing was either gratefully accepted or graciously allowed to pass through the recipient. Know that, no matter what, that energy was a tiny drop in the infinite pool of the Universe, and the waves it sent out bring every soul closer to the final goal of peace and serenity.

Ann Marie Judge
Crystal Child, Student of Life, Spirituality, & Writer

Ann Marie graduated from high school in 2005 and is currently at a crossroads in life. She is currently pursuing her love of photography and when she's not photographing, she spends most of her time doing internships and volunteering at local art galleries. In the fall, she plans to attend a massage therapy academy.

Not yet old enough for acronyms at the end of her name, she considers herself a student of life, and has been deeply involved in the spiritual community since her first awakening at the age of twelve. Since then, she has had much education in the metaphysical and spiritual arts by a wide variety of teachers and healers. She was very quickly recognized as a Crystal and Indigo child, as well as a clairvoyant and intuitive.

Because she was able to begin living for the spiritual at a young age, her dream is to reach out through her writing to other young people that are experiencing similar awakenings while still being within the educational system and a society that often does not recognize or nurture young, spiritually-gifted ones. Her vision is to form a community of spiritually-minded young people so that the younger generations will be prepared to be guides and teachers as the spiritual consciousness of the world continues to rise.

Though much of her life is still largely potential, she feels this time in her life is the first step in fulfilling her dream of becoming a published writer so as to serve the children and young people of the world that feel the spiritual stirring within. As well, she hopes to educate parents on how to nurture and understand what is going on in their children's minds from a young person's perspective.
