In today's climate of religious reformation and mud-slinging, it is refreshing to be reminded that thousands of years ago, the Earth was proclaimed as "Female," and, that She may turn out to be our doorway of rescue despite ourselves! There are many instances where mankind has unerringly known that our salvation on this planet and at what I call, affectionately, the University of Mother Earth, is dependent not only on the Son, or the children but, also on the Mother. Today we see this renewal in the resurgence of Druidic, Wiccan and Pagan ceremony, the work with the Kabalah and Shekinah as well as the revival of Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother and a whole host of female heroines throughout history. Now, if we can only show humanity the advantage "It" has in following in Her footsteps, we will create that brave, new world we have all been talking about since Day One.
You see, the ancients knew that there was only one Mother God and she had many, many faces. Faces like yours and mine. Over time, the Mother God was called by many names. Gaea, Isis, Mary, Shiva, Juno and so many more. But, we are those faces as well and some within the general populace are beginning to realize why. This is the time for our Mother to do what she does best. It is time for healing and only Mom can kiss our hurts and make them go away. It is time for forgiveness and everybody knows only Mom can truly forgive us and help us to become whole again. And of course, only Mom can love us best, so, it is finally time, once again, to pursue the wisdom that keeps on ticking and keeps on giving, the wisdom of Sophia.
There are many legends connected to Sophia (Greek for wisdom), who is seen in many circles as the highest source of wisdom we can penetrate in the mind-body-spirit equation. There are always "levels" to understanding but, like the hundredth monkey effect, once one of our little brains and hearts start to grasp this very ancient knowing, all of us will, in our time, be given a glimpse. Imagine that it is Christmas Eve and Mom and Dad have a big secret that you and I, (their children), won't be allowed to know until the next day...which happens to be the culmination of the Festival of Lights. The secret is so cool and wonderful that we can hardly wait to know it. So, in the fashion of energy-driven little kids, we start to play and argue and cry until our wise parents put us to sleep. In sleep (meditation, study, rest, compassionate action), we are able to walk through doors that our waking selves cannot adjust to easily. And, like the grand moment of waking up on Christmas Day, when we know the day will only bring excitement, pleasure and real love, Earth is slumbering in the expectation of what is next to come.
Many seers view what is happening on Earth as a cleansing and healing process borne of inner combustion, much like the Big Bang, that will hopefully resolve itself into a brighter, more cohesive whole through the careful focusing of many point of light throughout the world, in the future. Clients frequently ask me about how to use their many talents and I always tell them, "God, whatever that concept means to you, only needs to know that you are willing to share this next great adventure." In other words, in this current movie, the The Great Oz may be in fact, Sophia, hiding behind a very opaque curtain and waiting for us, one by one, to seek Her brilliance. I frequently watch "The Wizard of Oz" when it comes on the tube and have come to believe that all the main characters in the film are archetypes for earth to heaven travelers. Meaning, Frank Baum knew his little fairy tale was much more of an epic designed to enchant our little hearts and minds so we would not get caught up so with the witches and flying monkees but in fact, love the adventure. And, have you guessed the name of the Good Witch of the South, yet? Oh yes, it has to be Sophia.
While I have a very loving and warm picture of Sophia within, I know She has to be the Spirit of Our Truth here on Earth. So, She must be a tough customer as well as an ever-changing aspect of the GodHead, brilliant in Her Plans for us but, active and evolving as well. I also believe that like all good mothers everywhere, She is not complete without Her children in tow. Mom needs us to carry part of the burden of our own ignorance, lethargy and apathy. She cannot clean house without Her little helpers. If you have been feeling overly taxed, emotionally and spiritually, especially these last 7 years, know that you truly have been called upon to lend Her your light of mind and wisdom of heart. You see, She knows what you and I only pay lip service to...Whether you died yesterday, three thousand years ago or will not die until 2031, we are all still linked to this Eden we so love, called Earth. Whether in spirit or form or both as may be, we are working as One to promote the eternal promises of that Christmas Day to come. Just because you can't see who moves the strings behind the curtain doesn't mean She isn't on the job 24/7.
As we pursue the Golden Road of balance and moderation remember to ask Mom if you can be part of the wisdom of the Plan that is unfolding. In your affirmations and meditations, ask to be the Captain leading your ancestors today as we find a safer path to walk for generations to come. On this day as I write this article it is 9/11. We are reminded through imagery and memories that our beautiful Lady of New York Harbor is much more than an idea of one people's concept of true freedom. Like all good avatars, she represents the Beacon of Light you and I can become when we see through all aggression and hostility to the still, peaceful presence of Wisdom standing tall and strong, awaiting Her children's attention.

Dr. Gwen G. MacGregor is a nationally recognized intuitive life coach and metaphysical teacher with clients in 37 states and 7 countries.
She is also a Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist with a thriving practice helping clients modify addictive thinking through spiritual, mental and magical means.
Conducting seminars and Master's Classes nationwide, she travels several months out of each year to such cities as Charlotte, NC, Charleston, SC, Philadelphia, PA, Los Angeles, CA and Pittsburgh, PA, to name but a few.
Dr. MacGregor has successfully consulted with over 2,000 clients across the United States and abroad utilizing her skills as a gifted clairvoyant-life coach, hypnotherapist, tarot and palm reader. Dr. Gwen has also volunteered for the American Red Cross, and The Washington Home Hospice of Washington, D.C.
Dr. MacGregor is a regular contributor on radio stations in Washington, DC, Baltimore and Annapolis and has appeared as a guest on the "Art Bell Show." She has also appeared on "Inside Edition," "America's Most Wanted," and the New Age television series, "Strange Universe."
Known for her clear receptionand accurate spirit readings, she is often called upon to assist in locating missing children, and has consulted on Civil Defense Air and Sea Rescue Missions. Her work with angels and spiritual mastery led to a splendid article being written in The Washington Post.
She consults with medical doctors, acupuncturists, psychologists and chiropractors to assist in patient diagnosis. She has been teaching for Prince George's & Howard County, MD, Community Colleges,' Continuing Education Programs for over 10 years as well as conducting ongoing Master's Classes in Ascension Studies. Dr. MacGregor has a B.A. in Sociology (U of MD), an M.S. inSocial Work (U of MD), a Doctorate in Divinity (ULC-CA) and a ChT in Transpersonal Hypnotherapy (NATH).
Dr. MacGregor regularly takes her innovative approach to intuitivecounseling on the road presenting informative seminars at community centers, corporate board rooms, festivals and New Age Expos. Her individual spiritual consultations address issues such as personal health, success, loving relationships and self-empowerment techniques for corporations and individuals. She is a distinguished Reiki Master, and incorporates healing touch and esoteric ceremonial techniques into much of her work.
