In Ancient times, Citrine was carried as a talisman protection against snake venom and evil thoughts. Citrine is a warming, energizing and highly creative gemstone and considered one of the stones of "Abundance". It is also known as the "Merchant Stone" and symbolized light heartedness, happiness, joy and represents the 13th year wedding anniversary.
Natural Citrine is considered rare. Often heat-treated Amethyst is sold as Citrine and Topaz resembling Citrine in color have been misrepresented with exotic names like: Brazilian Topaz, Citrine Topaz, Gold Topaz, Madeira Topaz to the more expensive Topaz.
Madeira Citrine is most valued by collectors; it is the darker orange shade after the color of wine. In modern times many people prefer the bright lemony shades, which mix better with pastel colors. Citrine crystal can easily scratch and permanently changes color if left in the sunlight for several hours.
Citrine is a transparent crystal, available in cluster, single and double terminated generator crystals, large geodes, and gem quality cut and faceted, polished and tumbled stones.

Color: Shades of golden yellow, yellow, orange, brown, golden brown, burnt amber, smoky-gray brown
Hardness: Measures 7, less in the cryptocrystalline form

Romans - used Citrine for intaglio and cabochons during the 1st centuries after the birth of Christ

Romantic Period of History 1837 to 1860 - used Citrine as a gemstone in jewelry
Greece - used gemstones since the Hellenistic period, end of the 4th to the end of 1st century BC

Myths and Legends:

Indian Mythology and Ayurveda:

It is also called the Merchant Stone, placing a cluster or a crystal in ones cash box has produced more income. It raises self-esteem and confidence and removes destructive tendencies. It enhances concentration and revitalizes the mind.
HEALING: It stimulates digestion, the spleen, and the pancreas. It negates infections in the kidney and bladder, helps eye problems, increases blood circulation, detoxifies the blood, activates the thymus and balances the thyroid. Citrine relieves constipation and removes cellulite, as an elixir, it is helpful for menstrual problems and menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, balancing the hormones and alleviating fatigue.
Citrine Connection:
Citrine as a "Merchant Stone" was one of the stones I opted to be used in the creation of the Raven Antahkarana Grid, which we personally use for Raven Crystals. The Antahkarana symbol is multi-dimensional, being made-up of three sevens on a flat surface. Three sevens represent the seven chakras, the seven colors and the seven tones of the musical scale. These three sevens are mentioned in the book of Revelations as the seven candle sticks, the seven trumpets and the seven seals. From another perspective, this symbol appears as a 3-dimensional cube. Its energy moves from two to three dimensions that can be seen and continues up through unseen dimensions all the way to the highest dimension - the dimension of the higher self.
This symbol is directed by the Higher Self, it always has a beneficial effect and can never be misused or used to cause harm.
