Divination Systems: Be Your Oracle

Priestess Archetype

The next time you have a difficult decision to make or need to solve a problem, use your imagination. The great psychologist, Carl Jung, says that "active imagination" is a way of accessing what's below your conscious awareness, a way of getting to a deeper feeling within you. When you apply your mind's eye vision, you can tap the oracle within you.
Often when we consider "imagination," we think of it from the song that it's "just my imagination." It's intellect at play, no doubt, and it can be used with focus and intention to access our intuition. It's not just some crazy new ideas or visions. "Active imagination" is a tried and true technique.
A great method for activating your intuition through creative visualization is to picture a wise Priestess. The Priestess I am referring to for your imaginal and intuitive journey is a universal personality archetype in the tarot and found throughout human history. The Priestess is the archetypal "wise woman," an intuitive seer, counselor, healer. All cultures have this kind of woman, whether she is called a sorceress, witch, healer, medicine woman, psychic, clairvoyant.
When we imagine her, we are actually tapping into an ancient and universal source of wisdom and wisest part of you. Inevitably, without work on your part, you will naturally receive invaluable counsel. In a sense, the wise woman Priestess is in your DNA. She is ever present for any issue, any question, any decision.
See the Priestess and have a conversation with her about your situation and ask her for advice and counsel. Try to go deep with the conversation. By keeping at this process, you will get better at it, and you will have an ally mentor forever. The most difficult job is to trust, to trust the process and the information you receive. It's not "just" your imagination.
When imagining your inner priestess, see her in vivid color and light. Why do you think movies have such power? Not only do they present a captivating story, but are of illuminated color! This technique was taught to me by the Tibetan Buddhist Lamas, and they are probably the most formidable meditators and visualizers on the planet. It was by picturing gold light streaming into my liver that I overcame my hepatitis when I was in Nepal in the 1970's.
Most importantly, once you get the Priestess' counsel, put it into action as soon as you can. Remember, we are our own oracle and that means to fulfill the prophecy, to fulfill our visions and dreams by our own action. To manifest the life that you desire, keep doing this. It's the voice of your deepest most self wanting you to hear the call of your soul and to live it!
