This is a North card and it is white. When the shield carrier reaches the top of the mountain, she never seeks approval because approval is based on doubt. Your strength and wisdom are celebrated in your unique ability to view the experience of life with new vision. Power lies in individuality and the ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. To be in power you must take your power and exist within your own individuality.
The painting on the face of the card is entitled, “Meeting the Members of the Board”. People are so stuck in their ruts of everyday life, that anyone with unusual ideas cannot be accepted. The Native American Chieftain in full ceremonial dress is considered a freak in this civilized setting in which the men are speaking of architecture and building a city. What the board members don’t understand is that the Chieftain is a great individual in his own culture and he might have the answers to survival that all of us need and so many of us are afraid to hear.
We are afraid because the answers may come out of the unknown, out of something that is unfamiliar to us and because it is unfamiliar, we do not understand it therefore; we feel the need to destroy it, that is our tragedy. To be in power you must first be an individual. This is a North card because individuality takes strength and wisdom and the teachings of spirit.
Prayer
Great Spirit, Mother Earth, Powers of the Four Directions, our Ancestors, and all the Great Beings of Light who surround us at this time and share their wisdom, thank you for being with each and every one of us. Feel the presence of the Sacred Ones within your heart and know that differences in life create a tapestry of vivid color, interest, and joy. Celebrate your differences. Do not try to change them unless they create a violence of some kind against someone else’s personal ethic. To live on this earth is to understand that there are the four leggeds, the winged ones, the two leggeds, and the screded pipe. All of which create a Sacred Whole to be celebrated in your personal ceremony of life.
