“As darkness comes, the mirrors of your spirit reflect different images. It is the time when the world changes and your being begins to glow. Reflect on the new vision that has been living on the perimeter of your consciousness. An idea is stalking you and awaits your invitation, a place within you to begin life. The totality of your creativity comes after you have begun your work on the sacred painting of your life. It is then that the muses of inspiration surround you like eagles and cheer you on to illumination. Take responsibility for your work and your life, and then illumination will follow.”

How do you take responsibility for the sacred painting of your life? Most of us live lives filled with responsibility, and that is a good thing. When you are not working on the sacred painting of your life, idleness can become an invitation down the road to nowhere.
Is it time for you to look at the totality of the responsibilities you have taken on? Have you filled your life with things that support your own dream for your life? Or is your life filled with too many demands that you wish would just go away because they really do not grow out of nor support your own beautiful truth and purpose in the world?
Only you can answer these questions for your own life. Only you can choose to be true to your dream, the dream that comes from the center of your being and is a glorious reflection of your relationship with Great Spirit and all of the forces of life and love, creativity and joy in the universe.
There are times when it is difficult to know whether some of the responsibility you carry is really meant to be such an important part of your life. Like the Buddha sitting before the altar of illumination, sit in a place of quiet beauty and reflect on what surrounds you. Know that everything that you see is what you have chosen to be there as an object of your focus. Are you caring for a loved one who is going through a time of difficulty, perhaps illness or financial or other distress? Are you in a temporarily difficult work environment, perhaps because right now you need to stabilize your finances or weather some growing pains at what is otherwise a very good job for you? These aren’t things that anyone wishes for in life, but they happen to everyone and when you make a conscious choice to honor your commitment to yourself and the things you love then you will grow spiritually and become stronger and wiser in many important ways.
Or is it chaos and confusion that claim your attention? The more you take on responsibility because you need to be needed or you don’t know how to say “no” or establish healthy boundaries, the more chaos and confusion will seek you out. But like the braying from a TV screen, you can turn them off at any time. That is when you will truly begin work on the sacred painting of your life.
The golden eagle of illumination is the messenger from the earthly spirit to the Great Spirit. Know that Great Spirit and the entire universe are there to support you and encourage you and give you strength and love in this world. So send your doubts and your indecision to Great Spirit on the wings of the eagle, and become ready and willing to be filled with a new sense of life and a renewed purpose in the world. No one else can do it for you.
Prayer
I am a new warrior of spirit. I exist in a world of sacred balance.
I balance with one foot in the physical world of material substance
And one foot in the dimensions of spirit and sacred life.
My course is set by my ally – the winds of time.
Mother Earth gives me life force, the life blood of my sacred body.
The plants give me nourishment and healing as I ride the windhorse of my intent,
My sacred warrior’s transport of buoyant joy,
Into a new and unknown world of harmony.
I am truly a new warrior, an androgynous spirit being of light.
My weapons are the shields of awareness, the symbols of ancient truth
And the sacred giveaway.
Like the angels that surround me, few see me for who I really am.
I do commerce in the world. I raise my family. I live a life dedicated to freedom.
I immerse myself in the physical world, so that one day I can give it up,
Because I can give up only something that I truly have.
People learn from me through example, because of the integrity
Of my own life spirit. I move into the world with confidence and wisdom.
I am always open and learning tools of knowledge,
And I share these tools with my sisters and my brothers.
I am a warrior of the light, and I live the integrity of that truth with great care
And from a center within myself that is pure goodness –
The embodiment of the peaceful soul.
I walk with confidence the path of heart and personal power. HO!
