The Naked Emperor

We are now firmly in the time period when the Boy King’s nakedness is obvious to all but himself. The Clothingless Emperor has recently let it be known that he is giving pointers to Hillary and Obama about how to continue his Iraq policies into the next term and beyond. They may be cautious, but they are not insane. He has also hosted a rather feeble conference on climate change, an issue he now feels called upon to lead after years of sabotage and disdain. Needless to say, no one is buying.
This pathetic walk in the clouds is indicated astrologically by the progressed Moon in Bush’s chart square to natal Neptune (late September through October 20) and setting off the year-long solar arc progressed Ascendant conjunct natal Neptune (exact in October). Though Bush may be a touch more grounded for a while starting in November, we have to hope he doesn’t do anything too outrageous in October while his thinking cap is inside out and upside down. The Jupiter/Uranus square, from October 4 through October 10,will be a prime time for trouble and turmoil in numerous areas, including Pakistan, Myanmar, Iran, and Iraq, and Bush enters mid-month on a two-week high from October 11 through October 24, when Jupiter sextiles his natal Moon/Jupiter conjunction. It is unclear what he will have to be happy about, but that is not comforting.
As predicted in the Fall Equinox chart, violence in Iraq is heating up as the Sunnis launch a campaign to kill as many officials as they can.
Closer to home, the Hillary juggernaut is gaining momentum. Using an 8 AM birth chart for her (until something more accurate comes along), I am wondering if things will begin to dim a bit for her in October. The progressed Moon opposition to natal Jupiter (00Sagittarius31) peaked on September 21, and the progressed Moon trine to progressed Venus (00Aquarius53) is peaking September 30. Will she lose some steam thereafter, especially with Saturn moving to cross her Midheaven? This latter aspect suggests some need for consolidation, belt-tightening and some not insignificant challenges to her power. We should watch carefully the period from October 1 through October 11 to get a feel for what the coming Saturn transit will do (assuming the birth time is correct). This aspect remains active through July 1, 2008. Will it consolidate her power or challenge it irrevocably? The very strong Neptune transits in January 2008 to her chart, square Mercury and opposite Saturn, suggest the potential for some significant disappointment.
