S.O.L.A.R.®—INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW
Welcome to the first installment of this new section dedicated to the ideas, perspectives, and practices of the new organization, S.O.L.A.R.®!
The name S.O.L.A.R.® sounds like something that has something to do with alternative energy sources, right? Not quite! Although, it certainly has something to do with energy and power—in particular, the energy and power of conscious and intentional living.
What is S.O.L.A.R.®?
As an ideal, S.O.L.A.R.® is essentially a new way of life—a way of living more consciously and intentionally.
As an organization, S.O.L.A.R.® consists of a growing community of like-minded people dedicated to the practical pursuit of spiritual and material healing, growth, transformation, enlightenment, guidance, and evolution of consciousness—individually and collectively.
S.O.L.A.R.®’s aim is to offer practical spiritual and material services and products to those seeking to become more complete human beings. Given that many people today are looking for meaning, purpose, growth, healing, transformation, love, and guidance, among other things, and may feel a little let down by existing the spiritual and material offerings of the world, the aim of S.O.L.A.R.® is to bring together the great spiritual and material Truths of the many different spiritual and material traditions throughout history and to take these to a new level of integration and understanding.
Specifically, this involves the unification of the material and spiritual worlds, science and spirituality, astronomy and astrology, ancient knowledge/wisdom (Eastern, Native, and Western) and modern knowledge, physics, metaphysics, and psychology, and much more.
You might already have noticed that wherever the word “spiritual” has been mentioned, the word “material” is not far away. Which bring us to what sets S.O.L.A.R.® apart from so many other existing spiritual traditions (including most modern religions) and alternative/New Age systems of living.
What sets S.O.L.A.R.® apart is the fact that it embraces both sides of our lives equally—the spiritual and the material, spirituality and science, metaphysics and physics, astrology and astronomy, and so forth. In S.O.L.A.R.®’s view, we need both sides of the coin—both sides of life.
One side appeals to the intellect, and the other side appeals to the feeling. S.O.L.A.R.® feels that one side without the other can only lead to lopsided understanding, biased viewpoints, fundamentalism, illusions, ignorance, misunderstandings, confusion, conflict, divisiveness, separation, disconnectedness, and so forth. We see this in our everyday lives, locally/personally and globally/collectively, not least in the polarized perspectives of both religions and science.
S.O.L.A.R.® promotes the essential unity and interconnectedness of everything in existence—all sides of our lives and of the world around us, without exception.
The S.O.L.A.R.® Way
The S.O.L.A.R.® way of life is formalized in The S.O.L.A.R.® Way, which consists of practical, step-by-step spiritual guidance, facilitation, instruction, and counseling toward our spiritual and material growth, healing, transformation, enlightenment, and evolution of consciousness... toward our return to Spirit, Truth, Light, Love, and Oneness.
The S.O.L.A.R.® Way brings together:
* The inner wisdom, knowledge, and mysteries of numerous ancient and not-so-ancient spiritual, religious, mystical, and Native traditions.
* The elements and practices of ancient and not-so-ancient spiritual/mystery schools.
* A variety of personal development, healing, and vision quest methods
* Cutting-edge scientific knowledge, theory, and understanding.
The jewel in the crown of The S.O.L.A.R.® Way lies in the S.O.L.A.R.® Presence services—a complete school of conscious and intentional living for the 21st century and beyond.
In upcoming issues of this ezine, we will be offering many S.O.L.A.R.® Way perspectives, ideas, and practical suggestions for living a more conscious and intentional life.
Why is it called S.O.L.A.R.®?
One might be wondering by this stage why such an organization would be called S.O.L.A.R.®, which appears to be about the Sun! What does this actually stand for? And does this mean that it is a solar cult?
Answering the first question, S.O.L.A.R.® is an acronym for “Solar Oneness, Love, and Reconnection.” We will get to the reasons for this in minute.
Answering the second question, no, S.O.L.A.R.® is not a solar cult. Nor is S.O.L.A.R.® related to, or associated with, any past or present religion, spiritual organization, cult, splinter group, political or social group, philosophical ideology, financial concern, scientific endeavor, or the New Age movement. It is an independent and new organization.
The word “cult” is generally associated with extremist, negative, violent, and/or perverse groups (and their actions) that occupy, and often go beyond, the fringes of social sanity. S.O.L.A.R.® is certainly not one of these groups. S.O.L.A.R.®’s ideals and tenets are based on the acknowledgment and dissemination of Universal Love. With this as its basis, among other things, S.O.L.A.R.® is committed to healing and dissolving extremist thinking, feeling, and actions, globally and personally, through the power of Universal Love.
So, if this is so, why is S.O.L.A.R.® associated with the Sun? In short, S.O.L.A.R.® regards the Sun not as a god, but as a fellow traveler and guide on the journey of spiritual/material transformation—upon the vision quest of our earthly lives.
The Sun is an icon for Love and reconnection. The Sun mirrors our spiritual Hearts in all ways. As the planets orbit the Sun, aspiring to reconnect with the Sun’s greater Oneness and Love, so the pieces of our lives and of ourselves revolve around our Hearts, aspiring to reconnect with the Heart’s greater Oneness and Love.
As we get further into S.O.L.A.R.® ideas, perspectives, and practices in coming issues, it will become increasingly clear what place the Sun plays in our lives as an icon of Love and reconnection.
Another question that might come up is: is S.O.L.A.R.® a religion? In short, no. At least not in the modern sense of the word. S.O.L.A.R.® is what religion was originally intended to be—before religion became what it is today. Religion was originally intended as a way of bringing together the pieces of our world, our lives, and ourselves into greater unity, thereby opening the way for our personal reconnection to Spirit. The word itself is derived from many sources, not the least of which are “re,” meaning again and “lig,” meaning to connect and to gather.
And this is what S.O.L.A.R.® is about, i.e. gathering the pieces of ourselves, our lives, and the world around us into greater unity in our Hearts, thereby opening our personal doorway to Spirit.
The S.O.L.A.R.® Worldview
A worldview is the way a person or a group views life, people, and the world at large. This is intimately connected to core values and beliefs about existence.
The essence of the S.O.L.A.R.® Worldview can be summed up in a few short points:
* The universe is a hologram: you are in the universe (the Cosmic One) and the universe (the Cosmic One) is in you.
· As a “particle” of the Cosmic One—literally a “particle” of Light—you have a Seeker Nature™ that ever longs to reunite with the Cosmic One.
· The journey of your Seeker Nature™ is mirrored in hero and creation myths, fairy tales, nursery rhymes, Native wisdom and worldviews, religions, spiritual disciplines, and more throughout history.
· The journey of your Seeker Nature™ is an astronomical journey of Light through the universe and can be seen mirrored in the skies though astronomy, astrology, astrophysics, and more.
· For your Seeker Nature™, the spiritual aim of this leg of your journey is to align with the spiritual consciousness of the Sun.
· The Sun mirrors your spiritual Heart in all ways. As the planets orbit the Sun, aspiring to reconnect with the Sun’s greater Oneness and Love, so the pieces of you and your life revolve around your Heart, aspiring to reconnect with your Heart’s greater Oneness and Love.
· Your Heart, mirroring the Sun, is your personal doorway to Spirit.
· It is your Destiny to Shine, for you are a Star in embryo.
The Defining Feature of S.O.L.A.R.®.
If one were to ask what is the defining feature of S.O.L.A.R.®—of its ideas, perspectives, and practices—I would have to say “Presence.” What does S.O.L.A.R.® mean by Presence?
One of the S.O.L.A.R.® catch-phrases, “Wake up! Get real! Come alive!”, says it all. Presence is about waking up—beyond what we call our waking consciousness, which is only a shadow of what it could be. It is about awakening to reality—beyond what we call our reality, which is but a pale reflection of the greater Reality that awaits us. It is about snapping out of our half-dead “normal” state of consciousness and becoming witness to a larger and living awareness of our lives.
Presence is awareness—not just awareness in the ordinary sense of the word, but the awareness of Self in the midst of life. It is a moment of acknowledgment that says, “Here I am, in this place, in this time,” and the sense of awe, wonder, and miraculousness that accompanies this. It is synchronicity times infinity. It is attention simultaneously directed inwardly and outwardly, like a line with opposing arrowheads. It is the simultaneous experience of the Seer, the Seeing, and the Seen and the acknowledgment of their essential Oneness.
In the past it has also been called “enlightenment,” “detachment,” “self-remembering,” “the second attention,” “Christ consciousness,” and many other such names. However, in the end, all such names, definitions, and representations pale in comparison to the actual experience.
We will be exploring Presence in future issues.
The Living, Singing Universe
In the meantime, one of the realizations that comes when one attains even a relative state of Presence, is that everything in the universe is alive and is part of a vast symphony of consciousness, from the lowest bass notes of the material world to the most ethereal melodies of expanded awareness.
Moreover, it is all a hologram. If we call the infinite universe the “Cosmic One” (as S.O.L.A.R.® does), then we are each holograms of this Oneness. The Cosmic One is all around us, as well as being in us. As above, so below, and as it is below, so it is above. We simply have not yet awakened to our infinite nature. And this is certainly what S.O.L.A.R.® is all about.
Although S.O.L.A.R.® does not officially open its doors until June 6 this year, the website already has lots of things to explore. And we will be exploring much in the coming months, right here in this Meta Arts section.
