Divination Systems: Be Your Oracle

Be Your Oracle The Fun Way

by James Wanless, Ph.D

"NEW YOU" PARTY FOR NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

My publicist kept sending me "leads" from magazines about a call for creative and effective ways of making New Year's Resolutions work. This is right up my alley as I give a New Year's party, but call it a "New You" Party. It's a "party of transformation" with resolutions and rituals for "home shamans" who want to bring change into their lives by making your living room a sacred place of renewal and rebirth. Remember though, it's still a party, lots of fun, and also meaningful!

It's never too late to have a party like this. Any time in January, or perhaps on a birthday, a solstice, Easter.

How to make this party work? First, know yourself and your people at the party... what you and they are capable of doing. Visualize the possibilities (see below) and feel them out as to which ones you sense will really play.

Utilize the unique place and space you are doing this. I have, for example, a great fireplace and a freezing pool, so will create a kind of alchemy of fire and water to create some real steam for this! We also have lots of costumes and masks and dj's., so we'll utilize that.

This is an opportunity to make a transformative event be more than just a talk process. It's a chance to utilize a circle of people, with rituals and actions that are upbeat, happy and celebratory!

There's gazillions of techniques and rituals for transformation.

Below are a few "New You" Resolution Rituals before and/or during the "party of transformation." Use your own experience, intuition and investigations.

• Smudging of the people and place to prepare the way for new energy to come in.

• Invocation and Invitation to the new spirits of 2007.

• Breathing process to energize! To bring in the new breath of new life.

• Circle of Intention... a voicing of each person's Resolution for their New You.

• Contributions of objects to the Altar of the New Year and New You that symbolize your commitment to the "new you."

• The Magician's Ritual of Resolution Into Results. (see previous post).

• Light a take home candle as a commitment to your resolution.

• Write out what you want to get rid of and burn it in a fire place.

• Write out your Resolution and plant it with a seed.

• Pick a take-home card from an oracle of wisdom as a sign and message from the mystery.

• Raw foods/fuel from mother nature for new beginnings.

• Dress up as your New You self.

• Photograph the participants.

• Dance and move the spirits of the New You into action and manifestation. Dance circle.

• Wowship. See and declare the wow in each other.

• Toast at midnight to the New You's!

• Take home the Altar objects that have become energetically charged as a reminder of your commitment to yourself.

• Some kind of follow-up ways after Jan. 1 (Spring Equinox/Easter renewal).

The very process of creating this "New You" event is all about using your intuition to manifest something new.

I will be using the following Magician's Ritual of Resolutions and Results in the evening, and it's good for us "party planners/change agents" to utilize for the realization of our own vision of how it's to go.

So, first visualize what you would like to see happening. Second, feel how great in your body it feels to be carrying this off. Third, affirm to yourself that you can and are making it happen. Fourth, see a "do-able" action to get this going. And ask for help, strength and guidance from the great spirit and universe! And thank the higher power for giving you the resources and talents and magic to make it happen.

Keep doing this, even during the day as you drive and shop and work and, and. The power of this "manifestation meditation" is in the repetition. Keep seeing, feeling, believing, asking and doing.

Again and again.

The biggest ingredient for making a "transformation party" successful or not is your belief in yourself. Now, beliefs are just that... beliefs – an idea that we somehow have faith in and follow.

Subscribe to the belief that you have all the tools, talents and time to pull this off. You could just as easily have chosen the belief that you don't have the capabilities, energy and time to do so. Since beliefs are often projections from the past and/or cultural conditioning from others, and are just an idea anyway, why not choose the most effective and productive belief?

Our intuition knows what belief to choose, but why don't we always select the best belief? Probably because we have been taught that we are our beliefs and hold on to them; and that they are based upon facts, but what is a fact anyway, but just a belief-based way of interpreting evidence. It's all a subjective mind game.

Instead of adhering to beliefs that sabotage us, trust your deeper knowing, your intuition, that is always, always your best ally. That little intuitive feeling is who you are and is what to believe in. If it says you want to do it, don't let old beliefs block you. Trust the impulse and simply create a belief to support it.

We often confuse intuition with beliefs. They are not the same. Pay attention to how your feelings may be distorted by beliefs that are not really you. Use beliefs, don't let them use you.

And have fun at your party!
