10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1Blast off! Unfortunately, for many people that’s how their daily lives feel to them. Rush here, rush there, talk, talk, do, do. Most of us live lives defined by deadlines, multitasking, long lines and bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Our planet’s vibration is increasing and everything and everyone feels as if they are in a fast forward mode. Written communication in long hand is almost a lost art, being reduced to e-mails and text messaging. Verbal conversations are conducted in sound bites, due in part, to poor listening skills. It’s not uncommon for people to have the TV and TV on, as well as other electronic equipment going on simultaneously in their homes.
What do you give your attention to when you are driving, working or otherwise engaged? Visually we are bombarded with advertising, by a never-ending display of products and information. Auditorily, there is sound, all around! Silence is in short supply. We become so accustomed to the sights and sounds in our lives that we sometimes are unaware of why we are tired, irritable and feeling out of sorts. Do you ever ask yourself, “is this all there is to my life?”
When I get to this point, I stop, look around and assess what is going on in my life. I physically, emotionally and spiritually take a long, slow, deep breath and look within. What is missing? What is too much or too little in my life? Our companion animals have this marvelous ability to help us ground ourselves and connect to Mother Earth and to ourselves. They watch us every day, caught up in the busyness and melodrama in our lives. They think to themselves, “boy, for being human’s they certainly don’t know how to take care of themselves!”. They see us as not knowing how to relax and play. Most animals I work with definitely prefer to be animals and not be encumbered with all the schedules and demands that we have created for ourselves. All they ask for is to be loved and treated humanely.
Animals in their natural state don’t suffer from hypertension and other physical problems that we deal with. Yet, many animals that I have communicated with mirror physical complaints or problems that are the same or similar in nature to their owners. Our pets love us so much that they are willing to take on our anxieties and physical diseases as well. When we take a deep breath and slow down, we are not only doing ourselves a favor, but our pets benefit as well. Our personal world is a nicer, calmer place to be in and everyone we encounter benefits.
Animals are very sensitive to subtle energies and immediately notice when we are relaxed. They will instinctively seek a person who is calm and centered. When energy work is done with animals, the practitioner is usually engaged in deep breathing as animals find this soothing and allows them to be more open to receiving the energy treatment. If an animal is in crisis, ask the animal to breathe with you and begin to breathe slowly and deeply to become more calm and stable.
We are all one and connected by one Life Force. Oxygen is needed by all living beings to survive. Breathing links all of us together. There is a song that has a line that says, “let there be peace in the world and let it begin with me.” Why not let your deep breath begin your time of peace and tranquility?
Thank you.
