Over the past few months I have been hearing a lot of buzz about a new film and workshop entitled, "The Secret." My higher self kept taking notice every time one of my clients brought it to my attention. In the past, when I would hear about a new project over and over, I always investigated why it might be important to me or my practice. Imagine my surprise when in switching channels on my television one afternoon, I saw the author of the Book/DVD, Rhonda Byrne on Oprah! I always find mystery a bit intriguing and only caught the title of the work and decided to sit a while and listen. Did you know that if you can imagine or visualize what you want to become or gain or bring forward, you can do so? Could this possibly be the mysterious secret?
Stepping back, I need to point out to you that I have been teaching metaphysical studies for 30 years. In my five decades, I have heard this above wisdom from the likes of the Dalai Lama, John Randolph Price, Norman Vincent Peale, Wayne Dyer, Shakti Gawain and the indubitable, Deepak Chopra, to name but a few. The Law of Attraction or positive thinking or creatively visualizing a new way of life, is hardly new. But, I am reminded that when Shirley MacLaine wrote her classic tale, "Out On A Limb," she brought up many spiritual concepts that few in mainstream ever thought about - at least not since Edgar Cayce and Jean Dixon had their fleeting fame in the '50's and '60's. Then, we have "The Celestine Prophecies," which took the country by storm and even its author, Mr. Redfield, admitted that he had the idea for years and was surprised more people were not writing or talking on the subject. So why is "The Secret" such a surprise hit now? Why is it gaining recognition now, when we are coming down from a 35-year, spiritual revolution? I can only hazard a guess.
It seems that the hundredth monkey concept is shortening its required turn around time, just as mankind is moving more quickly into a shadowy future. My guess is that the Divine Mother, (she holds the creative principle now, doesn't she?), is attempting to send out the answer to our collective prayer for sanity at this time on intensely expanded channels. As J.K. Rowling knows, the "muggles" of this world are clueless at times about how to turn this great ship of chaos around. I have believed for a long time that those hundredth monkies, like J.K.'s, Harry Potter, are the magicians or enlightened ones among us. Now, do not for a minute believe I think the monkies should get all the credit for saving the world or that they are superior to the muggles! They have a different job to accomplish and when they break bad, they carry failure to new heights.
This is a time in history where communications and weapons of mass destruction are allowing many unenlightened people to come to the global bargaining table with a command chip. We are being forced, bit by bit, to acknowledge that we are not envisioning a very loving, healthy planet. Yes, you and I have not been listening to our higher selves very closely or we would not now have to be reminded of what our parents told us all along. "Whatever you want to be...you can become." "Or, if you can imagine it, you can become it." The reality is pretty simple but, the dimension of responsibility for our own success and belief systems, seems to overwhelm even the lowliest of Harry Potters' among us.
The concept of being a co-creator with God is mind-boggling to most people and a sacrilege to many others. I have always believed many of us just cop-out on this issue rather than test our unique, divine powers. Or, we play at lower levels with the idea. It is simple to play with magnets and consider gravity in school but, not all of us get to be weighless astronauts in the vacuum of outer space, far from Earth's gravity. We don't like change under any circumstances so, why do you think we would like use our power to change the direction we see the planet moving? Maybe because we might have to stick out our necks and step up to the Throne? Or, if we start growing and accepting credit for all our decisions on Earth, will we be able to maintain our growth curve? Or even wish to?
It is always a good thing when classic concepts of God get re-invented or described in new public relations' campaigns. I am very sure that I don't care who gets credit now or, for that matter, 15 years ago, for reminding humanity that we are all in this together. What I keep wondering is why the Kremlin and White House don't ever seem to read any of these mainstream books? Or watch Oprah? Or rent DVD's? What do we call people who aren't magicians or muggles? I live for the day when any of our leaders come on television and say,
"You know, we all must take credit for the lives we live and for change to come. Let us all agree that we will immediately start envisioning this world of ours as healthy, loving and peaceful. Please remember we are all counting on each other. Help your neighbors by organizing weekly affirmation vigils and, be ready to assist those who are facing crises of beliefs, as they will help you in yours."
Yes, I am a dreamer but, my world is going to get rosier every day from now on. And, it is going to have more smiles, more healthy adventures and more enlightened folks in it. My house and yard are going to be cleaner and, I am going to smile more in the face of adversity. Will you come out and play with me? Yes, I know the secret to change and against all the odds of my birth, I am going to try to be the world I want to live in. From my mouth to the Ear of God!

Dr. Gwen G. MacGregor is a nationally recognized intuitive life coach and metaphysical teacher with clients in 37 states and 7 countries.
She is also a Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist with a thriving practice helping clients modify addictive thinking through spiritual, mental and magical means.
Conducting seminars and Master's Classes nationwide, she travels several months out of each year to such cities as Charlotte, NC, Charleston, SC, Philadelphia, PA, Los Angeles, CA and Pittsburgh, PA, to name but a few.

physical, mental and spiritual levels. She has worked with "Indigo"children for most of her adult life.
Dr. Gwen has also volunteered for the American Red Cross, and The Washington Home Hospice of Washington, D.C.
Dr. MacGregor is a regular contributor on radio stations in Washington, DC, Baltimore and Annapolis and has appeared as a guest on the "Art Bell Show." She has also appeared on "Inside Edition," "America's Most Wanted," and the New Age television series, "Strange Universe."
Known for her clear receptionand accurate spirit readings, she is often called upon to assist in locating missing children, and has consulted on Civil Defense Air and Sea Rescue Missions. Her work with angels and spiritual mastery led to a splendid article being written in The Washington Post.
She consults with medical doctors, acupuncturists, psychologists and chiropractors to assist in patient diagnosis. She has been teaching for Prince George's & Howard County, MD, Community Colleges,' Continuing Education Programs for over 10 years as well as conducting ongoing Master's Classes in Ascension Studies. Dr. MacGregor has a B.A. in Sociology (U of MD), an M.S. inSocial Work (U of MD), a Doctorate in Divinity (ULC-CA) and a ChT in Transpersonal Hypnotherapy (NATH).
Dr. MacGregor regularly takes her innovative approach to intuitivecounseling on the road presenting informative seminars at community centers, corporate board rooms, festivals and New Age Expos. Her individual spiritual consultations address issues such as personal health, success, loving relationships and self-empowerment techniques for corporations and individuals. She is a distinguished Reiki Master, and incorporates healing touch and esoteric ceremonial techniques into much of her work.
As a spiritual counselor and clairvoyant, Gwen G. MacGregor has dedicated the last 26 years of her life to promoting balanced spiritual and physical integration. Her readings move clients to take greater responsibility for their own lives and success.
