Wise One Wheel

All the world’s a stage and life is the hero’s journey. Let’s use our imagination and perceive the journey as a four-act play and place it on the Wise One Wheel in the four directions. In the South, our play opens with an archetype of the heroine, our Traveler. Having heeded the call to adventure, she slips into a crack between the ordinary and extraordinary aspects of life. She goes on a trip, the mystical journey.
Night casts long shadows on the forest of the Traveler’s terrain and she becomes lost. This challenge brings the gift of a Wise Sage, a guide who leads her into the West direction. The guide is the Hermit wisdom archetype of the forest who assists the Traveler in act two of our play. Following the Hermit’s wise advice, the Traveler finds her way through the dark night of her soul.
Moving North in act three, our Traveler encounters the Avatar who places her in service to the Queen, who represents the Higher Self, the throne of wisdom. Our heroine now learns to make her own decisions and she stands up for herself when challenged. She learns to listen to her inner Avatar, the aspect of self that represents the Teacher Within.
Act four moves us toward the East, to the realm of the Magus, the one who discovers the elixir of life. Having completed the quest, our heroine transforms base metal into gold, casting her brilliant spiritual light upon her shadow. This is the prize of finding the meaning in all the struggles and triumphs of her travels. She returns home to share the treasure with her family, friends, and community. Our traveling heroine becomes the bestower of wisdom.
The Traveler, the Hermit, the Avatar, and the Magus are all aspects of your soul’s light. Their spirit drives you forward in life, providing the energy required to realize your potential and become the Master of your destiny’s fulfillment. True mastery is achieved when you courageously take this journey and consciously live out the drama in each direction on your wheel of life. Mastery of the wisdom within you is the greatest expression of self-love, which propels you along the spiraling journey of your enlightenment.
At each direction on the Wise One Wheel there are gateways offered by the varied archetypes of the Inner Sage. For example, the Traveler represents all possibility. The Traveler is an adventurer of all unknown territories, who is open to every avenue and path available. She follows the call to adventure with wonder and excitement. Pursuing the inner journey along the path of life is her purpose as a South Guardian of the wisdom archetype on your wheel. She is a pathfinder and can counsel you on what road to take and what road to avoid. Her voyages are taken with the intent to understand the mysteries of life.
