I am longing to be in a relationship. I have never been married and I feel as if life is passing me by. I am perfectly happy and content within myself but I wonder if there is that special “someone” out there?

Dear Meredith,
There is indeed that special someone out there. It is just waiting to happen. Sounds trite but I believe that this is true. If you want to hear a story to give you a little hope and encouragement, read on.
I was married for 21 years and I had 2 beautiful daughters. My husband and I grew apart and we divorced in 1986. I was on my own for 18 years. Time passed quickly, I was building my career and several nice men came into my life but no one that I would “sign on” with. Like you, I thought that the universe had forgotten about me and that life was passing me by. Never give up. One day, when I was least expecting it, a man walked into a class that I was teaching. He was not especially noticeable – just another student in the class – or so I thought.
After the class, I figured I would never see him again.
Lo and behold he turned up 4 weeks later at a dinner I was attending for a mutual friend. We met again – this time I noticed him. He had radically changed. In the month since I had first met him, he had lost weight, had better energy and looked positively radiant. I was instantly attracted. A month later we met by chance at a meditation retreat and as they say the rest is history.
How did this happen? I was ready. I called out to the heavens, visualized this man in my life and left it up to the universe to deliver. He is so right for me. Our lives and careers are totally aligned and on purpose. We have fun together, are great travel companions, can discuss anything and learn a lot from each other. We are very happy. Worth the wait? You bet.
