Being Willing
|
|
 |
by Rev. David Ault |
|
|
I’ve often heard the idea that saying I Can't simply means I'm Not Willing.
And not being willing most likely has its origins dug deep into a hard-baked soil of personal fear and misguided loyalties to failure.
But as silent screen legend Mary Pickford once said, “You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call 'Failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
Being a person who is willing requires us to get up and move forward.
Anything learned can be unlearned and anything more expansive, more promising, more in alignment with our authentic nature can be newly re-learned. Anything.
The apostle Paul expressed it beautifully in his letter to the Romans by describing creation as standing on tip-toe in wait to see the marvels that God will do.
You and I have the same opportunity to stand mentally on tip-toe with explosive expectancy for our seeds of willingness to find fertile terrain.
There is an audience, a partner, a buyer, a boss, that craves exactly what it is that we have to offer…..if we continue to be willing and open in allowing it.
Willingness is the key that unlocks the door to new beginnings and introduces us to our spiritual authority. Willingness is beautifully pro-active, pliable, untainted.
All mystics, all spiritual masters first began with seeds of willingness. Past failures or doubts weren’t barriers but refinements. Refinements became fuel to power their exploration into the gifts they inherently felt they possessed. It became the first stepping stone towards the discovery of their knowing.
I often joke of what a different experience it would have been had Jesus arrived at Lazarus' tomb filled with doubt and unwillingness. Instead of the command, "Lazarus' rise!", we may have heard something more along the lines of, "uuuumm, hey you think you might want to get up?"
Jesus didn't ask or plead - he commanded from a place of knowing and as metaphysicians we are given the opportunity to speak our word with authority and to know that the desired outcome is now making its way into our experience.
I've seen so many of us struggle with that kind of authority - having thoughts of "who am I to have such power?" Yet, brilliantly stated in the words of Marianne Williamson, “Your playing small doesn't serve the world.”
Denying our power and authority does not make us more humble, more saintly - it only gives us more of what we don't want. Living from authority doesn't make us arrogant. Denying it does. Being unwilling does.
If judges exercise their authority by striking the gavel on the mallet then opt to create a fall where your mental gavel is willing to keep connecting to your highest and best mallet of desire. No ifs, ands or buts - only knowing that we each deserve, we each can prosper.
This fall I choose to embrace and celebrate my inner knowing by:
Being willing to take the time to be still and listen.
Being willing to take the time to treat this physical body as the precious temple that it is.
Being willing to take the time to be of service and to give from my heart.
Remember, being willing makes you able.

David Ault
Visionary Vocalist, Author & Motivational Speaker
|
 |
David Ault is highly regarded as one of the finest visionary vocalists and motivational speakers within the New Thought/transformational movement.
His focus on remembering the Divine within and reclaiming that connection has empowered hundreds of thousands on their spiritual journey. The union of Davids charismatic message and heartfelt singing has elevated him to guest speaker of choice in many nationwide churches and global organizations.
As a licensed minister and practitioner through Religious Science International, as well as author, songwriter/recording artist, David has traveled and shared his gifts for well over fifteen years.
Working closely with notables Louise Hay and Marianne Williamson and sharing the stage with many cherished mentors ranging from the late Og Mandino to Dr. Barbara King, Jerald Jampolsky, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Father Leo Booth and Mary Manin-Morrisey, David harvested that experience and developed his own unique style of teaching. His compassionate presence, warmth and humor continue to be an unforgettable guidepost for audiences as they rediscover and reawaken to their personal magnificence.
Starting out as a professional actor and singer, David worked extensively in Broadway tour shows, film and television winning critics awards in both New York and Los Angeles.
Throughout the 1980s, David, along with the late Jerry Florence and Keith Kimberlin made their mark in New thought history by helping pioneer an unexplored musical genrevisionary vocal music. Known as Alliance, their remarkable blend became legendary, helping establish them as one of the most successful vocal groups in the Spiritual recording field.
David continues this musical path with the release of his critically acclaimed recordings, The Healing Bridge, Travelin With The Angels, All Is Calm, All Is Bright, And Then It Is Morning, all distributed through his Los Angeles based organization, The Conscious Company. Now, his highly anticipated literary debut, Where Regret Cannot Find Me, is heralded as a fresh and exciting discovery in Spiritual literature ... a work of pure heart!
I feel extremely blessed and grateful in following this path, says David. It is my ongoing intention to create a message in word and music that assists us all in reawakening to our personal magnificence!
