Grow, Grow
|
|
 |
by Rev. David Ault |

There is a quote translated from The Talmud that reads - Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over it and whispers, "Grow, grow."
I continue holding a deep appreciation for the comfort and wisdom this portrays because it beautifully reminds each of us how supported we are.
Whether in physical form or from the ethereal, the energies at work are ready and willing to assist us in our expansion.
Always.
If we are allowing that expansion, casting aside our doubts and fears, then life affords us rich, fulfilling growth experiences.
Blades of grass could certainly be a perfect mentor when it comes to this.
Think about it.
You've never seen a blade of grass resist its innate sense of growth because it feels unworthy. It grows without questioning its abilities.
You've never heard of one blade of grass being jealous and vindictive over another blade's growth. Each gets that there in it together. There's more than enough to go around.
And you'll never hear a blade of grass try to qualify or make excuses for its various growth patterns, colors, textures or lack of them. It doesn't fear being cut down. It simply trusts that its time and place is an opportunity - so, it's going to thrive as long as it can and have faith that over time it will rise again.
Oh, to have the trust of a blade of grass…
…to have absolute trust in the processes and changes of life and in ourselves, that we unabashedly show up for the adventures that await us.
What are the determining factors that keep us locked in a padded cell called our Comfort Zone and away from such trust in change?
It seems that at the threshold of every new experience looms the possibility of failure or rejection leaving us wrestling with (or simply giving in to) an enormous dose of fear.
And it is these very fear-based projections that tend to hold us back from dreaming big or stepping out into unknown territory.
Life coach Marta Kagan writes that behavioral scientists insist this fear response is a healthy manifestation of our survival instinct. We are programmed to move away from things that make us physically or emotionally uncomfortable.
“However,” continues Kagan, “the simple truth is that fear is, more often than not, one of life's greatest saboteurs. It robs us of our happiness. It causes us to settle for far less than we're capable of. It introduces a melee of negative emotions and conflicts that unravel our relationships and lead us to even greater levels of fear.”
When we consider that we are spiritual beings and that it is our natural state to expand and grow, then staying in ANY kind of man-made Comfort Zone due to the "what-ifs" will always cause us to feel disconnected, depressed and futile.
As Eleanor Roosevelt so beautifully implored, “Do one thing every day that SCARES you.”
Do ONE THING every day that scares you.
Do one thing EVERY DAY that scares you.
Why? Because as we gain a heck of a lot, we also lose. We lose our attachment to emotional imprisonment. We lose our loyalty to the naysayer’s of the world. We lose our excuses. And, wow, do we GROW!
By committing to a life of adventure, then life brings us adventure. By committing to a life of joyous expansion, then life brings us joyous expansion.
Step out of the Comfort Zone and into the Conscious Zone. You'll be greeted by Infinite Possibility.
Become like the blades of grass - take a moment and see if you can hear the whispers of encouragement that are beckoning you to be all that you came here to be. They are unfailing in their presence and persistence to get our attention.
Listen.
They are bending over us and faithfully repeating, "Grow, grow."

David Ault
Visionary Vocalist, Author & Motivational Speaker
|
 |
David Ault is highly regarded as one of the finest visionary vocalists and motivational speakers within the New Thought/transformational movement.
His focus on remembering the Divine within and reclaiming that connection has empowered hundreds of thousands on their spiritual journey. The union of Davids charismatic message and heartfelt singing has elevated him to guest speaker of choice in many nationwide churches and global organizations.
As a licensed minister and practitioner through Religious Science International, as well as author, songwriter/recording artist, David has traveled and shared his gifts for well over fifteen years.
Working closely with notables Louise Hay and Marianne Williamson and sharing the stage with many cherished mentors ranging from the late Og Mandino to Dr. Barbara King, Jerald Jampolsky, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Father Leo Booth and Mary Manin-Morrisey, David harvested that experience and developed his own unique style of teaching. His compassionate presence, warmth and humor continue to be an unforgettable guidepost for audiences as they rediscover and reawaken to their personal magnificence.
Starting out as a professional actor and singer, David worked extensively in Broadway tour shows, film and television winning critics awards in both New York and Los Angeles.
Throughout the 1980s, David, along with the late Jerry Florence and Keith Kimberlin made their mark in New thought history by helping pioneer an unexplored musical genrevisionary vocal music. Known as Alliance, their remarkable blend became legendary, helping establish them as one of the most successful vocal groups in the Spiritual recording field.
David continues this musical path with the release of his critically acclaimed recordings, The Healing Bridge, Travelin With The Angels, All Is Calm, All Is Bright, And Then It Is Morning, all distributed through his Los Angeles based organization, The Conscious Company. Now, his highly anticipated literary debut, Where Regret Cannot Find Me, is heralded as a fresh and exciting discovery in Spiritual literature ... a work of pure heart!
I feel extremely blessed and grateful in following this path, says David. It is my ongoing intention to create a message in word and music that assists us all in reawakening to our personal magnificence!
