Moldavite
“The stone of magic and spirituality”

Moldavite is a tektite which is found near the Moldau river called Vltava in Czechoslovakia and was formed during meteoritic action which produced a strew field of this beautiful green stone. It is a rare variety of tektite formed over 15 million years ago and also known gem-quality stone of extra-terrestrial origin.
Moldavite is a mysterious gemstone, the ancients called all clear green gemstones "Emeralds", and Moldavite is the only known crystal to have fallen from the sky. Moldavite resembles Obsidian. Moldavite are amorphous crystals, or natural glasses, has a singly refractive glass-like substance with many included minerals like: Iron, Magnesia, Aluminum, Lime etc. primarily made up of Silica (Quartz) at anywhere from 70 to 80%. Moldavite contains hundreds of minute air bubbles while Obsidian contains microscopic crystals.
Moldavite crystal is a deep green color. It is the only variety of tektite suitable for cutting and faceting as a gem, and crystal-healing jewelry has been made out of it for literally thousands of years. It can be cut, polished, and forming the crystal into certain geometric shapes - such as pyramids, spheres and gems, which are round, triangular, oval or emerald cut - can enhance the focus and intensity of its healing energy.
This Crystal is confused with Peridot - with the lighter colors. Iron mineral, provides the greens in both Peridot and Moldavite and when polished and faceted it is impossible to tell apart. Original theories stated that Moldavite was created when lightning struck sand rich in Quartz. Geologists remained skeptical since this did not happened in other parts of the world.
In the early 1900's a Professor Suess began to theorize that Moldavite formed as a result of a series of major meteor impacts in the area we now call the Czech Republic. A popular conjecture today describes intense meteor shower that impacted the region between 15 and 20 million years ago. Great pressures and heat caused by the collision created a sort of "instant magma", which exploded back into the atmosphere. This molten mass then fell back to Mother Earth in droplets. As these "drops" fell back through the atmosphere the friction against the cooling magma created the rough linear markings so common to Moldavite.
For centuries Moldavite had little value as a gemstone and could buy the stone for less than $0.10. Soon after the Meteorite theories were accepted, you could buy the stone at $2.00 to $3.00 a gram or retail cost as high as $20.00. Recognizing the value of this rare natural treasure, the Czech government is now more restrictive in releasing specimens. Moldavite is brittle and damage easily and can only be mined by hand adding to the high cost. Large specimens are impossible to find and very rare to find pieces larger that 20 grams.

History, Myth, Legend and Lore:
Neolithic of Eastern Europe - regarded the dark-colored glassy crystal as a spiritual talisman more than 25,000 years ago.
Venus of Willendorf - uncovered a significant number of Moldavite crystals, amulets, arrowheads and cutting tools.
Czech folklore - Moldavite crystal was believed to bring harmony, healing to marital relationships, and for centuries used the green crystal was used as a traditional betrothal gift.
Arthurian legend of the Holy Grail - the Grail was said to be not a cup, but a stone; a crystal Emerald that fell from the sky or the Grail cup carved from the crystal Emerald. Like the Stone of the Grail, a healing Moldavite crystal seems to be a harbinger of one's higher destiny and a helpful and healing talisman for the achievement of it. As a healing tool, Moldavite crystal can help one to bring about the right relationship, right livelihood and can align the rest of one's life into harmonious accord with the divine pattern.
Middle Ages - Moldavite history in magic and spirituality. It was believed to be one of the stones in the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail also fell from the skies and was said to give eternal youth and immortality to anyone that drank from it.
Tektite: Are believed to have formed in much the same way as Moldavite, however, they lack the greens found in the more sought after stone. Most Tektites tend to be brownish or black in color and are found outside the Czech Republic.
The Book of Stones - explains Moldavite genesis: "Some Scientific theorists contend that Moldavite is earthly rock melted by the heat of the meteorite crash, while others suggest that the material is of extraterrestrial origin, possibly a type of obsidian ejected by a lunar volcano. A third theory holds that Moldavite is a fusion product of meteoric material and earthly rock which were vaporized in the tremendous heat of the impact explosion, the resultant gas being propelled high in the atmosphere. This gaseous material would have then cooled and condensed into a liquid glass, which 'rained', down on the crater and surrounding areas. Regardless of which, if any, of these ideas is correct, it is known that Moldavite indeed fell from the sky because of the aerodynamic shapes of certain pieces, and virtually all scientists associate it with the meteoric collision which formed the Bohemian plateau and surrounding mountains."

Today - considered to be one of the stones very important for this particular phase of human evolution. Many people feel that at this time there are countless souls who are not originally from Planet Earth, but from the Pleiades, Sirius, Orion, and other systems. It is believed that for our Earth to fully heal itself, new races of beings are needed, those with what might be described as a more cosmic view of existence. These souls, incarnating for the first time on this planet, (and in some cases for the first time in a physical body) need a way to be grounded in the unique energies of this planet, and Moldavite is one of the helpers for this.
Many of us are working towards a Spiritual Evolution in Mankind and Moldavite has become a very important stone. With it's combined cosmic and earth energies it has been very beneficial to those amongst us, who are for the first time incarnated in physical, human bodies. It helps these celestial souls understand and cope with the physical limitations of the human body.

Moldavite is the stone to serve the inhabitants of this planet. It stimulates cooperation between those of extra-terrestrial origins and those experiencing life on Earth. It carries one beyond the mirage of life, the image of eternity and the vision and energy to translate the image into reality. It holds direct interdimensional accessing of higher dimensional galactic energies, to draw into the Earth plane those thought-patterns and light-vibrations, which are optimal to ones, preparation for ascension and illumination.
The stones have been prized early humans as far back Paleolithic times and have used sharp-edged Moldavite as tools and also wore pieces as amulets. The two most important properties of Moldavite are its catalyzing effect on ones spiritual evolution and it's opening of one's ability to ground Light for the healing Earth. The typical reactions of holding Moldavite is the sensation of heat, sometimes accompanying feeling of pulsating energy, warming often heats up the whole person, sometimes causing sweating and/or flushing. In certain cases activates the heart chakra which maybe felt as a pounding pulse or a gentle flowerlike opening, and emotional release can accompany running the gamut from laughter to tears. What is occurring is that each cell of your body, being its own cosmos, reacts to the stone, and when there are imperfections in the cellular system, it is crossed into the energy of the Moldavite. And since it is of the potency that it is of the creative Source, it goes to the source of the imbalance or disease, seeking to re-establish the vibration of wholeness or perfection.
Healing:
It stimulates the metabolism, treats spinal and cellular disorders, purifies and reenergizes blood, heart, lungs, and regenerates DNA. It also assists assimilation of vitamins and minerals. It is a useful stone to have during challenges and lawsuits teaches relaxation and going with the flow, inspires service and cooperation. It enhances fertility and aids assimilation of Vitamin A. Garnet is excellent for arthritis, rheumatism, fortifies the kidneys and beneficial for the mucus membranes and skin.
ANDRADITE: It stimulates creativity and attracts what you need most for your development, dissolves feelings of alienation and or isolation and attracts intimate encounters. Garnet realigns magnetic fields, cleanses and expands aura, opening psychic vision. It encourages the formation of blood and energizes the liver and aids assimilation of calcium, magnesium and iron.
RED GARNET: It is attuned to the heart energy, revitalizes feelings and enhances sexuality. Red Garnet controls anger especially toward the self.
The Iron inclusions help with anemia and give physical strength. It is a great heart healer and can magnify the healing energies in other stones. When you work with crystals and gemstones, you may want to wear a Moldavite. It aids one in calling upon the Universe for assistance in healing, while increasing the output of the other crystals working with.
It works well with quartz, which adds the factors of amplification, stabilization, and a wide energy range, to the focused and specific access capabilities of Moldavite. It works well with many member of the Quartz family, as Moldavite itself is about eighty percent silica. Its ability to harmonize is not limited to quartz; one is encourage furthering exploring its potential use with other minerals. The Platonic Solids reform and qualify the energy of Moldavite in ways that can open the doors to different interdimensional realms.
MOLDAVITE WITH OTHER STONES
CLEAR QUARTZ: With Moldavite, clear quartz serves to harmonically increase the power of what is already there; this combination is especially powerful for meditation, contacts with spirit guides, creation of grid works, light tools and energy environment.
HERKIMER DIAMONDS: They are the most spiritually uplifting of the clear quartz crystals, and known as vision crystals. The combinations expand the visual aspect of meditation, and soar to the heights.
AMETHYST: The Crown Chakra is activated with Amethyst. The Crown or Seventh Chakra is the spiritual pinnacle of the mind centers.
ROSE QUARTZ: The energy of Moldavite is quite intense, for those sensitive persons who wish to soften it, Rose Quartz makes the perfect stone, its gentle loving energies remedies any overwhelming feelings.
CITRINE: This stone is often used for mental clarity, and the combination can facilitate enhanced performance of the rational mind, as well as the bridging of concepts and the creation of new metaphors.
RUTILATED QUARTZ: This stone adds an electrical-feeling zap of intensity and this combination also tends to enhance ones physical energy.
SMOKEY QUARTZ: This stone provides a graceful counterbalancing energy that helps one stay grounded, even while ones consciousness roams the cosmos. This combination also helps us go inward to the Depths of our beings, to know and heal ourselves.
AMPHIBOLE ANGEL QUARTZ (RED PHANTOM QUARTZ): Rare crystal that brings in the red ray of the first chakra, which can catalyze the rising of the kundalini. This combination together are physically energizing and strengthening releasing of old held angers, judgments, fears, and aggressions.
QUARTZ WITH BLACK TOURMALINE: Quartz laced with Black Tourmaline, called Tourmalinated Quartz is thought to offer protection through the elimination of negative energy. Combining this with Moldavite synchronizes the strength of both stones and lends amplification to ones spiritual intent.
SUGILITE: This highly spiritual stone, discovered in Africa, is one of the best combination stones with Moldavite. Sugilite is also known as Luvulite, is a deep purple, and is a powerful activator for the Third Eye and Crown Chakras. The combination of stones can bring deep spiritual energy into ones whole auric field. When the stones are held together in mediation or worn, a deep harmonic energy reverberate throughout the entire body, which can be awaken and empower gentle spirits that have been beaten down the psychic violence of life on Earth.
LAPIS LAZU: This stone is thought to awaken royal virtues of wisdom, compassion, truthfulness and inner sovereignty. It is also a stone of emotional healing, Lapis Lazuli can be combined with Moldavite and Amethyst to do deep healing work in the area of the emotions.
PHENACITE: This is a truly rare stone, a clear beryllium silicate crystal that usually grows in a naturally faceted disc-shaped form. Phenacite with Moldavite can quickly energize the Third Eye and the Crown Chakra; Phenacite seems to instantly center one, while at the same time allowing for a gentle, cloudlike expansion of conscious awareness. Alignment, expansion, peace, and inner silence are the words that summarize the effect of these stones together.
AQUAMARINE: This stone can cool off fire, helps focus the energies of Moldavite at the Throat Chakra, facilitating ones opening to better communication, which also raises the level of ones communication to a higher spiritual octave. This combination assists in removing blocks in the realms of mediumship or of channeling ones own higher wisdom.
GEM SILICA (CRYSTALIZED CHRYSOCOLLA): Gem Silica is a blue stone, similar in shade with Turquoise, characterized translucent blue quartz crystallization. Combined together, this yin power is elevated to the level of the archetypal Goddess energy. In meditation they facilitate the unearthing of old negative emotions for healing. Though often worn women, they can be a boon to men who need to open their feminine side.
RHODOCROSITE: This stone brings gentle nurturing quality and can engender a state of mind, which it feels safe to allow suppressed memories to surface. When Moldavite and Rhodocrosite is combined, can facilitate deep healing of these wounds from the past.
SELENITE: A stone that activates perception of the psychic world, Selenite with Moldavite, can induce deep meditations and out-of-body travel. The wands and swords are good for directional channeling of subtle energies and easily lends to the transmission of the energies of Moldavite and the combination of these stones is promising to the creation of Light Tools and energy environments.
OBSIDIAN: Chemically closer to Moldavite than almost any other stone, nonetheless Obsidian has different energy, which aligns with Moldavite in a very interesting way. While Moldavite opens spiritual upliftment of ones consciousness and protection, Obsidian absorbs negative energy in the environment at the same time helps one to keep grounded.
AZURITE WITH MALACHITE: This combination of both stones is helpful for those who wish to focus on the task of healing the Earth. Provides both grounding and healing, and in its blue/green coloration similar to the Earth viewed from above, Azurite/Malachite characterizes the energies of our planet. When one brings to this the heavenly energies of Moldavite, the flow between them is microcosm of the dynamic healing process now beginning here. Holding these two together, while visualizing the follow of Divine Light from the cosmic Source through us into the Earth, we can feel the expansion of our capacity to act as channels for planetary healing. In so doing, we can feel the enlargement of our health in all levels.
KUNZITE: Kunzite provides the highest-level activation of the heart chakra. The Pink Kunzite enhances qualities of self-love and emotional stability. Moldavite is the heavenly representative of the heaven and earth heart union, opens one to the inflow of Light, and to its expression in the world through us. Kunzite centers the energies of both Moldavite and itself at the heart and allows one to express the full power of Divine Love. Moldavite and Kunzite are best worn together at the center of the chest, and this is also a good placement for body layouts in which heart chakra activation is a goal.
DIAMOND: Is a good amplifier/intensifier of the energies of other stones. Moldavite energies can be brought into laser-like focus when used with diamond; which is one of the highest vibrational stones for activation of the crown chakra and connection with Infinite Source. Together, these stones provide a powerful doorway to the perception of Cosmic Oneness and Unity.
OPAL: magnifies our feelings to the point where we cannot ignore them and it can thus be very helpful in rooting out fears and resentments that have slipped below our levels of awareness. Moldavite high vibration makes all this happen faster and on deeper levels. Opal brings the classic Moldavite Cleansing into focus on the emotional realm.
HEMATITE: Hematite is a good grounding stone recommended after a session of using Moldavite. The grounding of Moldavite energy is usually accomplished with Smokey Quartz.
KANSAS POPS (BOJI STONES): these strange pyrite concretions from the plains of western Kansas look like eggs laid alien space ships. They are said to be healing to the etheric body or aura and find them both cheerful and grounding. With Moldavite, they tend to facilitate grounding while allowing one to remain at high energy.
MOONSTONE: in India, it is a traditional gift of good luck for marriage, thought to harmonize relationship. In Western tradition, it has been associated with the Goddess energy, used as a means of connecting with ones feminine power. Pairing Moonstone and Moldavite softens the intensity of the Moldavite while energizing the Moonstone to a higher octave of the Yin power.
CELESTITE:
Celestite's energy offers a gentle lift into the higher realms of consciousness. The realms opened Celestite are tranquil and placid, the kind of heaven-image in which all the angels sit playing their harps on the clouds. Combining both can give access to inner-celestial domains in which the mode of experience is a kind of high-energy calm, like the eye cyclone, which can be enjoyable but not grounding.
FLUORITE: the initial feelings brought about Moldavite with spaciness and rushing energies is localized and easier when holding or carrying Fluorite. The natural octahedron Fluorite is the form suited for this purpose. It is encouraged to experiment with Moldavite alone or with other stones to realize the potential of the stone within ones inner quiet. Raw Moldavite alone is a powerful tool, bringing one into resonance with a higher and clearer vibration.
Room Charges: quartz clusters with Moldavite can be used in meditation rooms or healing chambers can be filled with Moldavite high vibrations simply placing one or more pieces of raw or faceted Moldavite on a quartz cluster somewhere in the room. Clusters have the ability to amplify and disperse the energy in all direction and Moldavite also helps keep the quartz free of negative energies, although advisable to cleanse crystals when you feel the need.
Moldavite Water: To bring Moldavite energy inside the body, one-way to do it is Moldavite Water. Place a glass container of spring water with a Moldavite in it outdoors in the sun for at least two hours. The solar energy charges both the Moldavite and the water. It is suggested to keep a record of your experiences over several months. Channeled sources have said have said that drinking Moldavite with water will help awaken the Kundalini energy. You may want to combine other stones such as Amethyst and Quartz in the water infusion and you must determine that the minerals do not release toxins into the water. If you don't know, don't try.
Energy Environment: in referring to energy environments, envisioned situations in which the whole body is placed in an area permeated with Moldavite energy. Such immersion can sometimes bring about the awakening of the Light Body or Etheric Body, and can clear and open all the chakras. As with all the modalities mentioned for working with Moldavite and other stones, different people react differently and at different rates.
The Bath: To cleanse your aura and charge yourself with Moldavite energy, try a Moldavite bath. Place your Moldavite pieces in a warm or hot tub to which sea salt has been added. Place in piece of Moldavite on each side and piece at both the head and foot of the tub and can be combined with other stones as long as the stones are not toxic or porous. Moldavite baths are helpful in overcoming physical exhaustion and stress and great for self-healing and over all strengthening, as well as chakra activation.
The Bed: For those who want enhanced dream states, and who want to do more than tape a Moldavite to the third eye, there is the Moldavite bed. At the four corners of the bed, place quartz crystals to which Moldavite has been glued, with terminations pointing to the center of the bed. Then place a number of raw Moldavite under the mattress in a lengthwise line beneath where you will be sleeping. If you wish, you may hang downward pointing quartz crystals with attached Moldavite over the bed as well. Needless to say, this creates a highly charged atmosphere for sleep. In fact, you may be unable to sleep in this environment. The ideal situation would be to use a set up in a spare room with a bed that can be used for meditation and occasional sleep. Sleeping with Moldavite has brought vivid dreams going to some kind of spiritual school, as well as enhanced action-adventure dreams.
The massage table: People who are receiving bodywork are often very open to receiving healing energies. A good practitioner is sensitive to this and uses the sessions to channel healing and Light to the client. Attaching Moldavite to the underside of the massage table is a way of helping the client open and resonates to its high spiritual vibration. This can help recharge the individual with Life Force, and that it can help open the chakras for release of blocked energies and recommend that Practitioner let their clients know that they are working with Moldavite or any other stones. Or you can infuse the healing room atmosphere with Moldavite energies through the placement of quartz clusters with attached Moldavite in various placed throughout the room.
The pyramid: You can create a charged environment for meditation sitting under a copper tubing pyramid with Moldavite at its vertices and can be amplified attaching them to quartz crystals pointed inward from all the corners. If you want to make it zoom, you can gold plate the whole thing.
The floatation tank: The tanks are derived from the original isolation tanks created Dr. John Lilly. They consist of a soundproof, lightproof box about eight feet long and four feet wide, filled to a depth of about one foot with a supersaturated solution of Epsom salts and water. The water is kept at skin temperature, and one floats on it in the dark and silence. The Epsom salt solution makes one buoyant, so you can relax and meditate in surroundings more secluded and comfortable than a Tibetan cave. Underwater stereo speakers make it possible to use music or guided meditations as well. The floatation tank offers the deepest possible physical and mental relaxation, and the non-stimulating environment makes it easier to tune in to subtle energies and sources of information below our normal levels of awareness.
On guided channeling, the question was asked if Moldavite needed to be cleared or cleansed energetically. It is not required once it has been established, and is being used an individual working with the Light. However, if it falls into the hands of an individual of negativity, it creates a force field that turns the energy back inwards towards the Source, and does not act as a radiating flow, and would need to have the barrier which it sets into motion removed, in order for it to be useful once again individuals of the Light. This can be done placing the stone into direct sunlight in an area outdoors.

Raven is a Reiki Level 3 Practitioner and a student of Quantum Touch Healing. She channels Reiki Energy daily for distant healings and practices hands on healing several times a week.
Raven became interested in healing stones when she first became a student of Reiki. She was delighted with the beauty and qualities of the stones and decided she wanted to share them with friends and family. She began purchasing stones and studying the healing properties of each stone. Her desire grew and she wanted to provide unique, rare and hard to find items, as they were the most intriguing in shape and have such radiant colors along with their extraordinary energy and healing properties.
