High Magic

An evolution based on man being material only ends in determinism -- an accumulation of matter that has no freedom; an evolution based on man being spiritual preserves all the laws of Nature and Spirit and leads to pure thought, and therefore, to greater freedom. The world does not hold together "from below," but "from above." When everything earthly is dissipated and passed away, spirit will remain. High Magic is only for those who have learned that the inner life is determining our outer reality. To walk the path of the Magician" we learn to inwardize.


The art or science of persuading a god or beneficent superpower to do or refrain from doing something specific is called Theurgy or White Magic. All metaphysical art falls under this heading, all ways in which the operator by means of self-purification and discipline, sacred rites and knowledge of divine signatures in Nature is held to be capable of evoking or utilizing the aid of divine and beneficent spirits. Methods of High Magic are human acts, processes, powers or states of supernatural efficacy or origins. All divine works.


High Magic brings normal human consciousness into operative linkage with Otherworld energies, with Spirit. And helps us develop control over our elements of existence. It's a psychospiritual procedure that breaks material bounds through mental dimensions, and increasing inwardly when there's no opening to do so outwardly. High Magic is the technology of the creative imagination, one of our highest types of cognition that's almost been lost during these past 200 years of scientific objective and rational-mind dominance. It is "irrational" wisdom as it works with the intuition and inspired focus upon one's subjective visions and dreams.


Today, given the state of our world, we must remember that we know how to break past the artificially imposed barriers of awareness and enter new states of consciousness, extending ourselves into dimensions that have few purely human occupants that reside in the Inner Life, also known as entering the Kingdom of Heaven.


The modern-day White Magician is very active today in our collective human consciousness as the Aquarian Age is ruled by the 7th Ray, the Ray of Magic and Order, here to synthesize and manifest the good produced in the Piscean Age. Currently, our world is experiencing the ending of the Piscean Age. Therefore, all the "dross" from that era that has not been resolved is staring us in the face: separatism, fanaticism, unnecessary self-sacrifice, and all the wrong uses of devotional energies. This is clearing out the human psyche to make ready for our next right step in evolution.


As a reflection of the 1st Ray of God's Will and Power, the power of the 7th Ray is inherent in physical matter -- the power stored in the atom, in mountains, volcanoes, hurricanes and earthquakes. The first powerful effects of the 7th Ray on our world are changes along the line of destruction of old forms that have crystallized and lost their meaning. These are destroyed in order to release the true value hidden in the forms, which are law, order and peaceful coexistence.


Unity in Diversity is its keynote. And the Laws that function under this keynote will bring peace to our world. Unity in Diversity honors and stores all the unique "goods" of each culture's individual essence, while joining us in the Unity of the oneness that we are. Neither individuality nor union with the All is sacrificed. This new energetic force brings together the will of spirit and matter, no longer viewed as separate. The White Magician spiritualizes forms through the right use of thought and Words of Power.


Through reflection and ritual we bring into materialization the cosmic-concepts, those related to Spirit's ways. And all work is designed to place us in service to humanity. As said by Peter Senge in his book The Fifth Discipline:

"No one can increase someone else's personal mastery. We can only set up conditions which encourage and support people to increase their own."


 High Magic is living energies, a dynamic Force that comes from our true heritage as sons and daughters of our Creator God. The transformative energies are capable of auto-reaction to each other in ways that we become consumed in the flames of Love and Inspiration and are never again the same -- made now into someone new who functions upon a higher plane of Reality.


Symbols are our spiritual shorthand for creating what we desire. Symbol-codes hold a consciousness-content that are mediators between dimensions, as I've written about in an earlier article. Symbols are outer signs of inner Grace. They open lines of communication between the subjective and objective realities by giving soul to body, meaning to matter. They create energy exchanges that put life together with consciousness. You can think of symbols as entities, carriers of meaning and energy.


For example, some of you are already tuned into the Tarot cards. The purpose of Tarot symbolism is to be the currency used to exchange ideas with other Intelligent Beings in differing states than our own. From the standpoint of High Magic,

Rods are Edges
Swords are Points
Cups are Cavities
Pentacles are Surfaces


We learn to wield the Rod (stand in our true Power); point the Sword (focus our energies); absorb through Cups (open to what comes from Spirit); and manifest through Pentacles (actualize or demonstrate).


The Rod can be a pen or brush. The Sword can be our focused mind. The Cup is our inkwell. And the Shield can be our canvass or message pad.


A White or High Magician works with symbols by becoming them. For instance, until you can walk around as the Rod, having taken it into you as you, you cannot wield it. It must be "brought alive" inside us. All magical work is an "inside job." All magic happens in the subjective realities.


So we must symbolize now that which we hope to manifest for the sake of our troubled world.
The Laws of Manifestation work like this. And for the sake of practice, let's say we wish to manifest Peace on Earth:

1. First, we intend that which we wish to create -- the "Is-ness" of what we seek is defined and called down. (Truth)

2. Next, we allow ourselves to become totally attracted to what we are envisioning, and we long to move its energies for the sake of the Whole. (Goodness)

3. Now we start to imagine how our world would look with this new quality, Peace on Earth, functioning within it. (Beauty)

4. Next, we go inward and remove any conflicts, doubts, or negativity that could be in the way of having Peace on Earth. (This is a clearing process that enables us to resonate with Spirit.)

5. Now our intellects tune in and we align our ordinary thinking with higher mind and Nature. (We are starting now to actually manifest the soul quality, Beauty)

6. Next, our emotions must balance and refine so that we can feel the soul's impulses (Our masculine and feminine polarities of mind and heart blend; we are manifesting Goodness).

7. And finally, we embody the Soul; we become the Truth of the new quality Peace on Earth.


Now we are being required to stand and act in all seven levels of being with the courage of being our true selves because High Magic is needed to help save our world. And then, what will happen is we'll find ourselves in unison with many others who are already creating this new quality for our planet and her peoples. They will begin to appear before our very eyes.


To be a High Magician, we must commit to a condition of purity, meaning an unmixed condition of being where we keep burning the spark of the Divine at all times in the Temple of our Human Spirit. Once a channel is established between your Inner and Outer Self, surges of energy are exchanged.


The tension can be too explosive or erosive when subjective meets objective, and short-circuiting can occur. So every magical act you do must begin with some type of purification ritual, even if only in the mind. Once we can use discipline and will this kind of work, our lives become imbued with magic. It is literally true that "where there's a will, there is a way."
