Kristi Huggins, known as Mirabai to the online community, moved to WA State 5 years ago on a "whim". The first person she met was Linda Glendenning, owner of Cove Crystals, who placed the very first crystal in Kristi's hand, thus beginning her love and passion for the crystal community.
Has spent the last 5 years in ongoing self-study of crystals, minerals and stones in the metaphysical, spiritual and healing modalities.
Created MoonCave Crystals 2 years ago to share love of crystals with online community.
Just recently completed a compilation booklet entitled Gemstone Healing Guide-A Healing Apothecary

Questions, Answers and Opinions: Crystals
by Mirabai
Crystals are unique-each exhibits a set of characteristics all its own. Every crystal has a purpose and more often than not, are chosen for that specific purpose. While we can group and subgroup crystals, which may make it helpful when choosing what is needed, we also may take into consideration the "configuration" of that piece. When working in a healing modality, one may specifically look for a laser wand. When creating a grid, another may choose Lemurians for their specific configuration and properties.
Can't tell the difference between a laser and a Lemurian? A "singer" and a Diamontina? This article will hopefully give you some answers to these confusing configurations. And just remember--everyone has their own idea of what is what--you will get several different responses. The answers provided here are with extensive research, intuition and what I feel to be true for me.
Laser Wand--Laser Wands were first utilized, it is believed, by those in the healing temples of Lemuria. They were laid to rest by the elders in secret chambers before the fall of the Lemurian Empire and have recently begun to be found on the continent of South American. Laser wands can be recognizable by their rugged and ancient appearance. To some, who find they are attracted to more flawless and clear pieces, this would not be a first choice. Laser wands are long, slender crystals tapering to a very fine point with small to tiny faces making up the termination. Katrina Raphaell compares them to fingers--"the nail being the faces forming the termination and the body being lengthy and narrow, yet expanding in width at the bottom of the crystal."
Lemurian Crystal--A Lemurian crystal has a very specific type of configuration which can be easily seen. It is distinguished by horizontal striations and smooth sides in an alternating pattern. Likewise, it may be distinguished by subtle wavelike etchings upon its faces and/or sides. The striated edges of these crystals are said to hold the Lemurian knowledge left for future generations to contemplate. While Lemurians appear matte like in finish, beneath these surfaces is a clarity that is unique. Some may be an opaque "pink" in color, basically meaning that it contains a light dusting of iron. Lemurians are found loose in sand banks, not in clusters as quartz is customarily found. They also found in specific Brazilian mines.
Seed Crystals or Star Seed Crystals are mined in Brazil. They were found at the top of a hill that was being strip-mined for quartz. These naturally formed generators were found separately in sand and..... Whoa!!! Isn't this a Lemurian??? YES :) It can be ...
Terminology is confusing at times, isn't it? A seed crystal, to me, means it is not found in clusters as quartz normally is. To continue, "..these beings existed on the earth plane before the time of Lemuria and were part of the natural seeding of star systems. It was during the last days of Lemuria that these crystals were planted within the earth with their specialized purpose. It is believed that the race of Lemurians, having seeded our world, left the earth plane for other star systems when life on the surface of the planet could no longer be sustained. However, many of the Lemurians also went into inner earth and it is from within that domain that they still care for the earth and are responsible for these crystals surfacing now. One of the main purposes of these seed crystals is to create complete holographic unity. It only requires one Lemurian Seed Crystal to holographicaly connect to all of seed crystals. This energetic connection forms an energy grid around the earth which links us to inner and outer worlds." Katrina Rapheall
Diamontina Quartz Crystal is also known as a Star Seed Crystal. It is identified as a Diamontina because it is found at the Diamontina mine of Minas Gerais, Brazil and are usually characterized by remarkable clarity. They may appear to have been polished or enhance, but, have not been. It is just part of the magic of Diamontinas. These also are believed to have been "planted" or "seeded" by an alternative race to be found and utilized by humanity at the proper time. Many Star seeds on planet Earth at this time were preprogrammed to awaken at this critical moment in time. These awakened Star seeds are here to help Earth and its inhabitants shift into a higher vibrational dimension.
I am soooo confused?!?!? Diamontina Star Seeds, Lemurian Seed crystals.....
Just remember--some crystals can have several or some of the same identifying characteristics and still not be the same type of crystal. The best way to identify any type of star seed is by the fact it is not found in cluster formations, but instead, in pockets. Brazil is the only location that I know of, where these are found in such pockets.
"Singers" or "Singing Crystals" are normally found in any one of the configurations above. Simply put, a singing quartz is one, when clicked lightly with its "mate" produce a tinkling sound. It is NOT a tone or long lasting vibration as produced by a crystal or Tibetan bowl. Although, it is my belief, that while we may not HEAR a long, lasting tonation, Singers do produce an unheard, powerful vibration which can be used in healing or toning.
Rule One: Diamontina Crystals are NOT Lemurian Crystals
Rule Two: Both Diamontina and Lemurian Crystals can be Star Seeds
Rule Three: Laser crystals can be any type of quartz, as long as the configuration holds true.
Rule Four: Singing crystals can be found in any of the above configurations, but not every crystal will sing
** For anyone studying configurations, I highly recommend Crystal Healing by Katrina Raphaell.
