Kristi Huggins, known as Mirabai to the online community, moved to WA State 5 years ago on a "whim". The first person she met was Linda Glendenning, owner of Cove Crystals, who placed the very first crystal in Kristi's hand, thus beginning her love and passion for the crystal community.
Kristi has spent the last 5 years in ongoing self-study of crystals, minerals and stones in the metaphysical, spiritual and healing modalities.

Red, pink, rose pink, orange-red, and brownish-red. Massive specimens usually have black manganese oxide veins running through it. Some specimens tarnish black or brown upon exposure to air.e.

Location(s) Found:
Some of the finest crystals came from Franklin and Ogdensburg, both in Sussex Co., New Jersey. Large masses occur in abundance there, but the fine crystals seem to be exhausted.In Langban, Sweden, crystals similar to those found in the Franklin area are found. Other worldwide localities include the Ural Mountains of Russia (Sverdlovsk); Chikla, India; Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia; and Minas Gerais, Brazil. A blood-red, transparent variety is from Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia.Three other U.S. localities are Cummington, Massachusetts; Cumberland Hill, Rhode Island; and the Cowee Creek District (near Franklin), Macon Co., North Carolina.

Healing Applications:
Rhodonite has been used in the treatment of emphysema. It can also be used in the treatment of inflammation of the joints, light sensitivity, strep throat infections, heart disorders and arthritis.

It activates and energizes the heart chakra and conveys the resonance of unconditional love to the physical plane. It can help one to attain calm assurance in all activities.

Configurations that can assist you in consciously choosing a crystal based on intent and need.

Just as we have individual characteristics which set us apart from each other, crystals have similar individual characteristics. We, as humans, have librarians, teachers and doctors among us. Certain crystals share these same unique qualifications as Record Keepers, Phantoms and Laser Wands. They assist us in accessing information energy to energy.
When readying oneself to purchase a crystal for a specific purpose, the type of crystal is our first thought. The configuration may play a minor role….or a major one. For instance, someone who uses crystals in healing may want a crystal that can focus in on one area and remove a blockage with pinpoint accuracy. Another may want a crystal that can raise their vibration in meditation to perhaps meet a teacher/guide to further their growth.
Record Keeper
One of the most popularly sought after crystals is the Record Keeper. A Record Keeper Crystal is one that has triangular shaped symbol(s) which can be raised or engraved on one or more of the crystal's faces. These are not easy symbols to see with a one time glance, they must be held to the light and looked at closely. Record Keepers are believed to be one of the most sacred of the crystals because it holds the knowledge of the universe. The ancient Atlantians programmed the Record Keepers before the fall of that great civilization in order to record and safeguard their knowledge.When one is properly attuned to this crystal, this ancient knowledge may reveal itself. One must be of pure heart and open mind to access the secrets of the Record Keeper.
Phantom Crystal
A Phantom Crystal is recognizable by a "phantom" crystal within the crystal, usually comprised of a white or colored mineral being partial or complete. The Phantom crystal symbolizes universal awareness. The energy of the Phantom works to bring together the participants of humanity to save the planet. Melody, author of Love is in the Earth-A Kaleidoscope of Crystals states, "It is also an excellent tool for meditation and for assisting in the connection with the higher realms, ESP those of knowledge. May also assist one in meeting a personal guide. Promotes inner growth and transcendence." A great crystal for "gazing" as well.
Manifestor Crystal
The Manifestor Crystal is characterized by a crystal growing totally inside another crystal. A crystal growing half in and half out of a crystal, some term as an inner child crystal, but I also feel these are manifestors and I use them as such. Manifestation crystals are believed to help people who have had traumatic, physical or emotional, childhood. They are helpful for those who block painful memories. They help bring the cause of the pain to the surface allowing one to successfully deal with it, while shielding from the pain those memories can cause Work well for those working through current family problems or issues. Also very helpful in assisting with manifestation of any kind. If there is something wished for by using manifestation techniques, some questions may be, "Do I really want this?" or "Are there reasons I may not want this?" Be very clear!! If the crystal perceives mixed messages it may not facilitate the manifestation.
Laser Wand
The Laser Wand crystal is recognized as a long slender crystal with small faces comprising the termination. The crystal tapers inversely (i.e., from the base to the termination). Katrina Raphaell, the foremost crystal healing authority staes that Laser Wands, "…can be used to help heal relationships by cutting the emotional cords of jealousy, insecurity, anger, sorrow or guilt. They can also be used to assist in breaking attachments towards people or things. When these cords are cut, one must rebuild the identity based in self love and security." Rapheall suggests using Rose Quartz, Kunzite, Pink Tourmaline in a heart chakra trinity and adding Green Aventurine.
Rutilated Quartz Crystal.
This is a beautiful example of Rutile or Rutilated Quartz Crystal. This crystal is easily recognized by the "needles"( usually formed from titanium dioxide) encased in the crystal. The Rutilated crystal draws universal life force energies into the body, is a regenerator and enhances energy in other stones. Rutilated Quartz also promotes self-determination, self-control, strength of will, resolve, self-reliance, volition, steadfastness. Good for people who have trouble making decisions. Also associated with happiness, communication with spirit guardians and general healing. Gets to the root of problems. Aids astral travel, absorbs mercury poisoning.
These, and other crystal configurations can be sought after for use in a specific manner or can sometimes be chosen intuitively. Once I learned what a Record Keeper was, I sat down with all of my crystals and began looking for the triangular pattern and was excited and thrilled to find I had some in my collection!
This helped me gain yet more insight into my crystal friends as I began to utilize these energies for a more expanded purpose than originally intended.
For instance, I may have intuitively chosen an Amethyst Quartz point to assist me in one area and not even realize it was a Record Keeper at the time. As I worked and grew with the Amethyst and gradually learned what a Record Keeper was, I entered into a deeper realm of work and understanding as to the energy potential this particular piece possessed. It was just waiting to show itself until I was ready to receive.
I also found out what works best for me is to hold the recordkeeping crystal in my non dominant hand (receiving) and use my thumb to rub the record keeper triangles downward, thus opening up the vast amounts of information for retrieval. Once I am done, I rub my thumb upwards over the triangle which effectively closes the records until such time as I am ready to access them again.
If I was to use any of these crystals for another purpose outside of my own work, say, to heal another, I hold them in my dominant hand (giving) which allows a steadier flow of energies outward. Of course, as always, there is no one way to utilize crystal energies that is more "right" than another. Pick what feels best for you and go with it.
So, as you grow with your crystals, you will begin to see both a broader array of uses for one of these specially configured pieces. Enjoy!
