The ruins of Masada. Rather than allow themselves to be taken from Jerusalem in chains, with hooks in their jaws, and enslaved by the Romans, men drew lots to kill their own families, and then, each other. The Roman legion took Masada, only to find 960 Jewish men, women and children dead. Two women and a child survived by hiding, and related the tragedy to Joesphus.

Isaiah 29

29:5 But the multitude of thy foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones as chaff that passeth away; yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly--

29:6 There shall be a visitation from the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.

29:7 And the multitude of all the nations that war against Ariel, even all that war against her, and the bulwarks about her, and they that distress her, shall be as a dream, a vision of the night.

29:8 And it shall be as when a hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth, but he awaketh, and his soul is empty; or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh, but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite--so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

Joel 3

3:1 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions;

3:2 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit.

3:3 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

3:4 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

3:5 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as the Lord hath said, and among the remnant those whom the Lord shall call.

Joel 4

4:1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

4:2 I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land.

4:3 And they have cast lots for My people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, and have drunk.

4:4 And also what are ye to Me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the regions of Philistia? will ye render retribution on My behalf? and if ye render retribution on My behalf, swiftly, speedily will I return your retribution upon your own head.

4:5 Forasmuch as ye have taken My silver and My gold, and have carried into your temples My goodly treasures;

4:6 the children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the sons of Jevanim, that ye might remove them far from their border;

4:7 behold, I will stir them up out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your retribution upon your own head;

4:8 and I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the men of Sheba, to a nation far off; for the Lord hath spoken.

4:9 Proclaim ye this among the nations, prepare war; stir up the mighty men; let all the men of war draw near, let them come up.

4:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears; let the weak say: 'I am strong.'

4:11 Haste ye, and come, all ye nations round about, and gather yourselves together; thither cause Thy mighty ones to come down, O the Lord!

4:12 Let the nations be stirred up, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat; for there will I sit to judge all the nations round about.

4:13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; come, tread ye, for the winepress is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

4:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

4:15 The sun and the moon are become black, and the stars withdraw their shining.

4:16 And the Lord shall roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall shake; but the Lord will be a refuge unto His people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.

4:17 So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain; then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

4:18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall flow with waters; and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the Lord, and shall water the valley of Shittim.

4:19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

4:20 But Judah shall be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.

4:21 And I will hold as innocent their blood that I have not held as innocent; and the Lord dwelleth in Zion.

Zechariah's Tomb

Zechariah 12

12:1 The burden of the word of the Lord concerning Israel. The saying of the Lord, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him:

12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of staggering unto all the peoples round about, and upon Judah also shall it fall to be in the siege against Jerusalem.

12:3 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a stone of burden for all the peoples; all that burden themselves with it shall be sore wounded; and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered together against it.

12:4 In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with bewilderment, and his rider with madness; and I will open Mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the peoples with blindness.

12:5 And the chiefs of Judah shall say in their heart: 'The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength through the Lord of hosts their God.'

12:6 In that day will I make the chiefs of Judah like a pan of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire among sheaves; and they shall devour all the peoples round about, on the right hand and on the left; and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

12:7 the Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem be not magnified above Judah.

12:8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that stumbleth among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as a godlike being, as the angel of the Lord before them.

12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they shall look unto Me because they have thrust him through; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born.

Zechariah Chapter 13

8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith HaShem, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say: 'It is My people', and they shall say: 'The HaShem is my G-d.'

Zechariah Chapter 14

2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, but the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3 Then shall HaShem go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fighteth in the day of battle.

4 And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleft in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, so that there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azel; yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah; and HaShem my G-d shall come, and all the holy ones with Thee.

6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that there shall not be light, but heavy clouds and thick;

7 And there shall be one day which shall be known as HaShem'S, not day, and not night; but it shall come to pass, that at evening time there shall be light.

8 And it shall come to pass in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem: half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the western sea; in summer and in winter shall it be.

9 And HaShem shall be King over all the earth; in that day shall HaShem be One, and His name one.

10 All the land shall be turned as the Arabah, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; and she shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananel unto the king's winepresses.

11 And men shall dwell therein, and there shall be no more extermination; but Jerusalem shall dwell safely.

12 And this shall be the plague wherewith HaShem will smite all the peoples that have warred against Jerusalem: their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their sockets, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from HaShem shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

14 And Judah also shall fight against Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the nations round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in those camps, as this plague.

16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, HaShem of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

17 And it shall be, that whoso of the families of the earth goeth not up unto Jerusalem to worship the King, HaShem of hosts, upon them there shall be no rain.

18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, they shall have no overflow; there shall be the plague, wherewith HaShem will smite the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Obadiah 1

Obadiah's prophecy concerns the destruction of Edom. It is HaShem's vengence upon the United States for its arrogance and betrayal of Israel. This prohecy is currently unfolding. The following links provide how this is being done, and why:

1:1 THE VISION of Obadiah. Thus saith the L-rd GOD concerning Edom: We have heard a message from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the nations: 'Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.'

1:2 Behold, I make thee small among the nations; thou art greatly despised.

1:3 The pride of thy heart hath beguiled thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, thy habitation on high; that sayest in thy heart: 'Who shall bring me down to the ground?'

1:4 Though thou make thy nest as high as the eagle, and though thou set it among the stars, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the Lord.

1:5 If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night--how art thou cut off! --would they not steal till they had enough? If grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes?

1:6 How is Esau searched out! How are his hidden places sought out!

1:7 All the men of thy confederacy have conducted thee to the border; the men that were at peace with thee have beguiled thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread lay a snare under thee, in whom there is no discernment.

1:7 Obadiah warns of the trap that the US and the nations have set for Israel under the guise of "peace." Obadiah warns Edom that G-D sees their evil and will destroy them.

1:8 Shall I not in that day, saith the Lord, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and discernment out of the mount of Esau?

1:9 And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one may be cut off from the mount of Esau by slaughter.

1:10 For the violence done to thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.

1:10- 1:18: HaShem enters judgement against the US for abandoning and trapping Israel in their time of distress, invading and taking part in the division of Jerusalem and attempting to destroy the land of Israel. In these verses, we find that the punishment is the total destruction of the house of Esau. Israel will survive.

1:11 In the day that thou didst stand aloof, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

1:12 But thou shouldest not have gazed on the day of thy brother in the day of his disaster, neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

1:13 Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of My people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have gazed on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity.

1:14 Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

1:15 For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations; as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee; thy dealing shall return upon thine own head.

1:16 For as ye have drunk upon My holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and swallow down, and shall be as though they had not been.

1:17 But in mount Zion there shall be those that escape, and it shall be holy; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

1:18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken.

Ezekiel 36

1 And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say: Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of HaShem.

2 Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Because the enemy hath said against you: Aha! even the ancient high places are ours in possession;

3 therefore prophesy, and say: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the rest of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;

4 therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the L-rd GOD: Thus saith the L-rd GOD to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about;

5 therefore thus saith the L-rd GOD: Surely in the fire of My jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed My land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with disdain of soul, to cast it out for a prey;

6 therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because ye have borne the shame of the nations;

7 therefore thus saith the L-rd GOD: I have lifted up My hand: Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.

8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to My people Israel; for they are at hand to come.

9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown;

10 and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded;

11 and I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings; and ye shall know that I am HaShem.

12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel, and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance; and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.

13 Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Because they say unto you: Thou land art a devourer of men, and hast been a bereaver of thy nations;

14 therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the L-rd GOD;

15 neither will I suffer the shame of the nations any more to be heard against thee, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to stumble any more, saith the L-rd GOD.'

16 Moreover the word of HaShem came unto me, saying:

17 'Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings; their way before Me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.

18 Wherefore I poured out My fury upon them for the blood which they had shed upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;

19 and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries; according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

20 And when they came unto the nations, whither they came, they profaned My holy name; in that men said of them: These are the people of HaShem, and are gone forth out of His land.

21 But I had pity for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whither they came.

22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: I do not this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye came
.
23 And I will sanctify My great name, which hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am HaShem, saith the L-rd GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean; from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep Mine ordinances, and do them.

28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be My people, and I will be your G-d.

29 And I will save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.

31 Then shall ye remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 Not for your sake do I this, saith the L-rd GOD, be it known unto you; be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

33 Thus saith the L-rd GOD: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.

34 And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.

35 And they shall say: This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited
.
36 Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I HaShem have builded the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate; I HaShem have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 Thus saith the L-rd GOD: I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed seasons, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am HaShem.'

Ezekiel 37

1 The hand of HaShem was upon me, and HaShem carried me out in a spirit, and set me down in the midst of the valley, and it was full of bones;

2 and He caused me to pass by them round about, and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

3 And He said unto me: 'Son of man, can these bones live?' And I answered: 'O L-rd GOD, Thou knowest.'

4 Then He said unto me: 'Prophesy over these bones, and say unto them: O ye dry bones, hear the word of HaShem:

5 Thus saith the L-rd GOD unto these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am HaShem.'

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a commotion, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.

8 And I beheld, and, lo, there were sinews upon them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.

9 Then said He unto me: 'Prophesy unto the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.'

10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great host.

11 Then He said unto me: 'Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say: Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.

12 Therefore prophesy, and say unto them: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, O My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.

13 And ye shall know that I am HaShem, when I have opened your graves, and caused you to come up out of your graves, O My people.

14 And I will put My spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I will place you in your own land; and ye shall know that I HaShem have spoken, and performed it, saith HaShem.'

15 And the word of HaShem came unto me, saying:

16 'And thou, son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it: For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions; then take another stick, and write upon it: For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and of all the house of Israel his companions;

17 and join them for thee one to another into one stick, that they may become one in thy hand.

18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying: Wilt thou not tell us what thou meanest by these?

19 say into them: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions; and I will put them unto him together with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.

20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thy hand before their eyes.

21 And say unto them: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, whither they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land;

22 and I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Israel, and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all;

23 neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them; so shall they be My people, and I will be their G-d.

24 And My servant David shall be king over them, and they all shall have one shepherd; they shall also walk in Mine ordinances, and observe My statutes, and do them.

25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob My servant, wherein your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children's children, for ever; and David My servant shall be their prince for ever.

26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them--it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will establish them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them for ever.

27 My dwelling-place also shall be over them; and I will be their G-d, and they shall be My people.

28 And the nations shall know that I am HaShem that sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for ever.'

Ezekiel 38

1 And the word of HaShem came unto me, saying:

2 'Son of man, set thy face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

3 and say: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal;

4 and I will turn thee about, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed most gorgeously, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords:

5 Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;

6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah in the uttermost parts of the north, and all his bands; even many peoples with thee.

7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou guarded of them.

8 After many days thou shalt be mustered for service, in the latter years thou shalt come against the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out of many peoples, against the mountains of Israel, which have been a continual waste; but it is brought forth out of the peoples, and they dwell safely all of them.

9 And thou shalt ascend, thou shalt come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many peoples with thee.

10 Thus saith the L-rd GOD: It shall come to pass in that day, that things shall come into thy mind, and thou shalt devise an evil device;

11 and thou shalt say: I will go up against the land of unwalled villages; I will come upon them that are at quiet, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates;

12 to take the spoil and to take the prey; to turn thy hand against the waste places that are now inhabited, and against the people that are gathered out of the nations, that have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the middle of the earth
.
13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the magnates thereof, shall say unto thee: Comest thou to take the spoil? hast thou assembled thy company to take the prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take great spoil?

14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say unto Gog: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: In that day when My people Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the uttermost parts of the north, thou, and many peoples with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company and a mighty army;

16 and thou shalt come up against My people Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the end of days, and I will bring thee against My land, that the nations may know Me, when I shall be sanctified through thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

17 Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Art thou he of whom I spoke in old time by My servants the prophets of Israel, that prophesied in those days for many years, that I would bring thee against them?

18 And it shall come to pass in that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the L-rd GOD, that My fury shall arise up in My nostrils.

19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath have I spoken: Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

20 so that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep upon the ground, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at My presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the L-rd GOD; every man's sword shall be against his brother.

22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will cause to rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many peoples that are with him, an overflowing shower, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23 Thus will I magnify Myself, and sanctify Myself, and I will make Myself known in the eyes of many nations; and they shall know that I am HaShem.

Ezekiel 39

1 And thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say: Thus saith the L-rd GOD: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal;

2 and I will turn thee about and lead thee on, and will cause thee to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel;

3 and I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the peoples that are with thee; I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort and to the beasts of the field, to be devoured.

5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field; for I have spoken it, saith the L-rd GOD.

6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and on them that dwell safely in the isles; and they shall know that I am HaShem.

7 And My holy name will I make known in the midst of My people Israel; neither will I suffer My holy name to be profaned any more; and the nations shall know that I am HaShem, the Holy One in Israel.

8 Behold, it cometh, and it shall be done, saith the L-rd GOD; This is the day whereof I have spoken.

9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall make fires of the weapons and use them as fuel, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the hand-staves, and the spears, and they shall make fires of them seven years;

10 so that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests, for they shall make fires of the weapons; and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the L-rd GOD.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place fit for burial in Israel, the valley of them that pass through on the east of the sea; and it shall stop them that pass through; and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude; and they shall call it the valley of Hamon-gog.

12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land.

13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them, and it shall be to them a renown; in the day that I shall be glorified, saith the L-rd GOD.

14 And they shall set apart men of continual employment, that shall pass through the land to bury with them that pass through those that remain upon the face of the land, to cleanse it; after the end of seven months shall they search.

15 And when they that pass through shall pass through the land, and any seeth a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog.

16 And Hamonah shall also be the name of a city. Thus shall they cleanse the land.

17 And thou, son of man, thus saith the L-rd GOD: Speak unto the birds of every sort, and to every beast of the field: Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to My feast that I do prepare for you, even a great feast, upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh and drink blood.

18 The flesh of the mighty shall ye eat, and the blood of the princes of the earth shall ye drink; rams, lambs, and goats, bullocks, fatlings of Bashan are they all of them.

19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of My feast which I have prepared for you.

20 And ye shall be filled at My table with horses and horsemen, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the L-rd GOD.

21 And I will set My glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see My judgment that I have executed, and My hand that I have laid upon them.

22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am HaShem their G-d, from that day and forward.

23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they broke faith with Me, and I hid My face from them; so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they fell all of them by the sword.

24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions did I unto them; and I hid My face from them
.
25 Therefore thus saith the L-rd GOD: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have compassion upon the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name.

26 And they shall bear their shame, and all their breach of faith which they have committed against Me, when they shall dwell safely in their land, and none shall make them afraid;

27 when I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.

28 And they shall know that I am HaShem their G-d, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them unto their own land; and I will leave none of them any more there;

29 neither will I hide My face any more from them; for I have poured out My spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the L-rd GOD.'

Jeremiah 49:

1. Concerning the children of Ammon. So said the Lord: Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why has Malcam taken possession of Gad, and his people have settled his cities?

2. Therefore, behold days are coming, says the Lord, and I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and it shall become a desolate mound, and its villages shall be burnt with fire, and Israel shall possess those who have possessed their possessions, says the Lord.

3. Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai has been spoiled, cry out, O villages of Rabbah, gird yourselves with sackcloth, lament and mobilize in companies, for Malcam shall go into exile, his priests and his princes together.

4. Why do you boast about the valleys? Your valley is flowing, O backsliding daughter, who depends on her treasures, saying, "Who shall come to me?"

5. Behold I bring fright upon you, says the Lord God of Hosts, from all those around you, and you shall be driven, each man forward, and no one shall take in the wanderer.

6. And afterwards, I will return the captivity of the children of Ammon, says the Lord.

7. Concerning Edom, So said the Lord of Hosts: Is there no more wisdom in the south? Counsel is lost from the sons, their wisdom has spoiled.

8. Flee! Clear out! Dwell deep, O dwellers of Dedan, for the misfortune of Esau have I brought upon him, the times I have visited upon him.

9. If vintagers have come upon you, will they not leave over gleaning grapes? If thieves at night, they destroy until they have enough.

10. For I exposed Esau, I revealed his hidden places, and he could not hide; his seed, his brothers, and his neighbors were spoiled, and he is not here.

11. Leave your orphans, I will sustain them, and your widows shall trust in Me.

12. For so said the Lord: Behold, [if] those who did not deserve to drink the cup nevertheless shall drink; should you then be cleared? You shall not be cleared, but you shall surely drink.

13. For by Myself have I sworn, says the Lord, that Bozrah shall become desolation, reproach, waste, and a curse, and all her cities shall become perpetual wastelands.

14. I have heard tidings from the Lord, and an emissary is sent among the nations: Assemble and come upon her, and arise for war!

15. For, behold, I have made you small among the nations, despised among man.

16. Your hastiness has enticed you, the wickedness of your heart, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill; if you raise your nest like an eagle, from there will I bring you down, says the Lord.

17. And Edom shall become a desolation; whoever passes by her shall be astonished and shall hiss at all her plagues.

18. Like the overturning of Sodom and Gemorrah and her neighbors, said the Lord, no man shall dwell there, and no man shall sojourn there.

19. Behold, as a lion that ascends from the heights of the Jordan to a strong dwelling place, for I will bring the moment when I will hasten him away from her, and he who is chosen I will appoint to her, for who is like Me and who will appoint Me a time, and who is a shepherd who will stand before Me?

20. Therefore, hearken to the counsel of the Lord, which He advised concerning Edom, and His plans that He planned concerning the dwellers of the south, if the young of the flock will not drag them, if He will not make desolate their dwellings with them.

21. From the sound of their fall, the earth quaked; a cry whose sound was heard in the Red Sea.

22. Behold like an eagle he shall ascend and soar, and he shall spread his wings over Bozrah, and the heart of the mighty men of Edom on that day shall be like the heart of a travailing woman.

23. Concerning Damascus, Hamath and Arpad are shamed for they have heard bad news, they melted; there is worry in the sea, it cannot be quiet.

24. Damascus has become feeble, she has turned to flee, and trembling has seized her: distress and pangs seized her like a woman in confinement.

25. "How was the city of praise not fortified, the city of my joy?"

26. Therefore, her youths shall fall in her broad places, and all her warriors shall be destroyed on that day, says the Lord of Hosts.

27. And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of the Ben-hadad.

28. Concerning Kedar and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon smote. So said the Lord: Go up to Kedar and spoil the children of the east.

29. Their tents and their flocks they shall take, their curtains and all their utensils and their camels they shall take for themselves, and they shall call upon them a terror on every side.

30. Flee, wander far off, dwell deep, inhabitants of Kedar, says the Lord, for Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon has taken counsel against you and has devised a plot against you
.
31. "Rise and go up to a peaceful nation, dwelling confidently," says the Lord; he has neither doors nor bars, they dwell alone.

32. And their camels shall be for a prey and the multitude of their cattle for spoil, and I will scatter them in all directions, cast to the ends, and from all its sides I will bring their misfortune, says the Lord.

33. And Hazor shall become a habitat of jackals, desolate to eternity; neither shall any man dwell there nor shall any man sojourn therein.

34. The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah the king of Judah, saying:

35. So said the Lord of Hosts: Behold I am breaking the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

36. And I will bring against Elam four winds from the four ends of the heavens, and I will scatter them to all these winds, and there shall be no nation where the exiles of Elam shall not come.

37. And I will break Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their lives, and I will bring upon them evil-the kindling of My wrath, says the Lord, and I will send the sword after them until I completely destroy them.

38. And I will place My throne in Elam and I will destroy from there a king and princes, says the Lord.

39. And it shall be at the end of days, [that] I will return the captivity of Elam, says the Lord.

Micah-2

2:12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will render them all as sheep in a fold; as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

Micha 4
The Prophecy of Micha speaks of the gathering of the 70 wolves who come to destroy Israel. However, since they do not know HaShem's Will, or the prophecies, they will do evil and thus, will fall.

4:11 And now many nations are assembled against thee, that say: 'Let her be defiled, and let our eye gaze upon Zion.'

4:12 But they know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they His counsel; for He hath gathered them as the sheaves to the threshing-floor.

This Prophecy of Micha speaks Israel's re-establishment as a nation, and flourishing in all endeavors. Syria, with the assistance of other nations will attack. Syria will be destroyed.

5:1 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days.

5:2 Therefore will He give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth; then the residue of his brethren shall return with the children of Israel.

5:3 And he shall stand, and shall feed his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide, for then shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

5:4 And this shall be peace: when the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes among men.

5:5 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod with the keen-edged sword; and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our border.

5:6 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, as dew from the Lord, as showers upon the grass, that are not looked for from man, nor awaited at the hands of the sons of men.

5:7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he go through, treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and there is none to deliver.

5:8 Let Thy hand be lifted up above Thine adversaries, and let all Thine enemies be cut off.

5:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and will destroy thy chariots;

5:10 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and will throw down all thy strongholds;

And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the nations, because they hearkened not.

Micha 7

HaShem promised that miracles/events will take place much like those that occured when Moses faced off with Pharoah to free Israel from bondage. The nations will be destroyed, and the remaining peoples will then know that HaShem is G-D.

7:12 There shall be a day when they shall come unto thee, from Assyria even to the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.

7:13 And the land shall be desolate for them that dwell therein, because of the fruit of their doings.

7:15 'As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt will I show unto him marvellous things.'

7:16 The nations shall see and be put to shame for all their might; they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.

7:17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent; like crawling things of the earth they shall come trembling out of their close places; they shall come with fear unto the Lord our God, and shall be afraid because of Thee.

Amos 9

The Prophecy of Amos speaks of the time after the war of GoguMogog. Moshiach Ben David will build the 3rd Temple, and those that survived among Israel will rebuild the land. It is here that HaShem promises that the Jewish people will never fear of being exiled from the Land of Israel.

9:11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof, and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old;

9:12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations, upon whom My name is called, saith the Lord that doeth this.

9:14 And I will turn the captivity of My people Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

9:15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God.

Zephaniah 2

1. Gather yourselves together! Yea, gather together, O nation that has no desire,

2. before the decree is born, as chaff that passes..the sun; before the fierce anger of the Lord comes upon you; before the day of the Lord's anger comes upon you.

3. Seek the Lord, all you humble of the earth who executed His judgment; Seek righteousness, seek humility! Perhaps you will be concealed on the day of the Lord's wrath.

4. For Gaza shall be deserted, and Ashkelon shall become wasteland. Ashdod-At noon they shall drive her out, and Ekron shall be uprooted.

5. Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of Cherethites! The word of the Lord is against you, Canaan land of the Philistines, and I will destroy you so that there shall not be an inhabitant.

6. And the seacoast shall be breakfast nooks for shepherds and sheepfolds.

7. And it shall be a lot for the remnant of the house of Judah, whereupon they shall pasture. In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down in the evening, for the Lord their God shall visit upon them and return their captivity.

8. I heard the taunts of Moab and the jeers of the children of Ammon, who taunted My people, and they aggrandized themselves on their border.

9. Therefore, as I live-says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel-for Moab shall be like Sodom, and the children of Ammon like Gemorrah; a rattling of nettles, and a salt mine, and desolation forever. The remnant of My people shall plunder them, and the remnant of My nation shall inherit them.

10. They shall have this instead of their haughtiness, for they taunted and aggrandized themselves over the people of the Lord of Hosts.

11. The Lord shall be feared by them, for He weakened all the gods of the earth. And every man shall prostrate himself to Him from his place, all the isles of the nations.

12. You, too, Cushites-they are the slain of My sword.

13. And He shall incline His hand on the north, and destroy Assyria and make Nineveh desolate wasteland like the desert.

14. And flocks shall lie down in its midst, all the beasts of the nations. Also, both the pelican and the owl shall lodge in its lintels. Their voice shall sing in the window; desolation, in the doorpost-for the cedarwork has been destroyed.

15. This is the joyful city, dwelling securely, saying to herself, "I am, and there is none besides me." How did it become desolate, a resting place for the beasts? Yea, everyone who passes by her shall hiss and wave his hand.

The Book of Daniel

Daniel 7

1. In the first year of Belshazzar, the king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream, and the visions of his mind [while asleep] on his bed; then he wrote the dream and said the beginnings of the matters.

2. Daniel raised his voice and said: I saw in my vision during the night, and behold the four winds of the heavens were stirring up the Great Sea.

3. And four huge beasts were coming up out of the sea, each one different from the other.

4. The first one was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle, until its wings were plucked and it was taken from the earth, and it stood on feet like a man, and the heart of a mortal was given it.

5. And behold another second beast, resembling a bear, and it stood to one side, and there were three ribs in its mouth between its teeth, and so did they say to it, 'Get up, eat much meat.'

6. After this, I saw, and behold another one, like a leopard, and it had four wings of a bird on its back, and the beast had four heads, and dominion was given it.

7. After this, I saw in the visions of the night, and behold a fourth beast, awesome and dreadful and exceedingly strong, and it had huge iron teeth. It ate and crushed, and trampled the rest with its feet, and it was different from all the beasts that were before me, and it had ten horns.

8. I looked at these horns and behold another small horn came up among them, and three of the first horns were plucked out before it, and behold eyes like human eyes were on this horn, and a mouth speaking arrogantly.

9. I was looking until thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days sat; His raiment was as white as snow, and the hair of His head was like clean wool; His throne was sparks of fire, its wheels were a burning fire.

10. A river of fire was flowing and emerging from before Him; a thousand thousands served Him, and ten thousand ten thousands arose before Him. Justice was established, and the books were opened
.
11. I saw then from the sound of the arrogant words that the horn spoke, I looked until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to a flame of fire.

12. But as for the other beasts, their dominion was removed, and they were given an extension of life until a set time.

13. I saw in the visions of the night, and behold with the clouds of the heaven, one like a man was coming, and he came up to the Ancient of Days and was brought before Him.

14. And He gave him dominion and glory and a kingdom, and all peoples, nations, and tongues shall serve him; his dominion is an eternal dominion, which will not be removed, and his kingdom is one which will not be destroyed.

15. My spirit-I, Daniel-became troubled within its sheath, and the visions of my mind terrified me.
16. I drew near to one of those standing [there], and I asked him the truth of all this, and he told it to me, and he let me know the interpretation of the matters.

17. [He said] "These huge beasts, which are four, are four kingdoms, which will arise from the earth.

18. And the high holy ones will receive the kingdom, and they will inherit the kingdom forever and to all eternity."

19. Then I wished to determine the truth of the fourth beast, which was different from all of them- excessively dreadful; its teeth were of iron and its nails of copper; it ate and crushed to powder, and the rest it trampled with its feet.

20. And concerning the ten horns that were on its head, and the other one that came up and [the] three [that] fell before it, and the horn that was like this and that had eyes and a mouth speaking arrogantly, and its appearance was greater than [that of] its companions.

21. I looked and the horn that was like this waged war with the holy ones and overwhelmed them.

22. Until the Ancient of Days came and gave revenge to the high holy ones, and the time arrived that the holy ones inherited the kingdom.

23. So he said, "The fourth beast [represents] a fourth kingdom [that] will be on the earth, which will be different from all the kingdoms, and it will devour the whole land and trample it and crush it.

24. And the ten horns that [sprout] from that kingdom [represent] ten kings [that] will rise, and the last one will rise after them, and he will be different from the first, and he will humble three kings.

25. And he will speak words against the Most High, and he will oppress the high holy ones, and he will think to change the times and the law, and they will be delivered into his hand until a time, two times, and half a time.

26. And the judgment shall be established, and they will remove his dominion to be destroyed and annihilated until the end.

27. And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under all the heavens will be given to the people of the high holy ones; its kingdom is a perpetual kingdom, and all dominions will serve and obey [it]."

28. Until here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts terrified me greatly, and my colors changed upon me, and I kept the matter in my heart.

Daniel 8

1. In the third year of Balshazzar's kingdom, a vision appeared to me-I, Daniel-after what had appeared to me in the beginning.

2. And I saw in the vision, and it came to pass when I saw-and I was in Shushan the capital, which is in the province of Elam-and I saw in the vision that I was beside the river Ulai.

3. And I lifted my eyes, and I saw, and behold a ram was standing before the river, and it had horns, and the horns were high, and one was higher than the other, and the higher one sprouted last.

4. I saw the ram goring westward, northward, and southward, and no beasts could stand before it, and no one could save [anyone] from its hand, and it did according to its will, and it grew.

5. And I was pondering, and behold a he-goat came from the west over the surface of the entire earth, and it did not touch the ground, and the goat had a conspicuous horn between its eyes.

6. And it came to the horned ram that I saw standing before the river, and it ran toward it with the fury of its power.

7. And I saw it coming up to the ram, and it fought with it, and it struck the ram and broke both of its horns, and the ram had no strength to stand before it; so it cast it to the ground and trampled it, and there was no one to save the ram from its hand.

8. And the he-goat waxed exceedingly huge, and when it became strong, the great horn broke, and an appearance of four sprouted in its stead, to the four directions of the heavens.

9. And from one of them emerged a small horn, and it became very great to the south and to the east and to the coveted land.

10. And it grew until the host of heaven, and it cast down to the ground some of the host and of the stars and trampled them.

11. And until the Prince of the host it grew, and through him the daily sacrifice was removed, and the base of His Sanctuary was cast down.

12. And a time will be given for the daily sacrifice because of transgression, and it will cast truth to the earth, and it will do and prosper.

13. Then I heard one holy one speaking, and one holy one said to the anonymous one who was speaking, "How long will be the vision of the daily sacrifice and the mute abomination, permitting the Sanctuary and the host to be trampled?"

14. And he said to me, "Until evening and morning, two thousand and three hundred, and the holy ones shall be exonerated."

15. Now it came to pass when I, Daniel, perceived that vision, that I sought understanding, and behold, there stood before me one who appeared like a man.

16. And I heard the voice of a man in the midst of the Ulai, and he called and said, "Gabriel, enable this one to understand the vision."

17. And he came beside the palace where I was standing, and when he came, I became frightened, and I fell upon my face. Then he said to me, "Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end."

18. Now, when he spoke to me, I fell into a sound sleep upon my face to the ground, and he touched me and stood me up where I had been standing.

19. And he said to me, "Behold I am letting you know what will be at the end of the fury, for it is the end of the time.

20. The ram that you saw, the one with the horns, represents the kings of Media and Persia.

21. And the he-goat is the king of Greece, and the great horn that is between his eyes-that is the first king.

22. And the broken one, in whose stead stood four, represents four kingdoms [that] will rise from a nation, but not with its strength.

23. And at the end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have been destroyed, there will arise a brazen-faced king who understands riddles.

24. And his power will become strong, but not through his strength, and he will destroy wondrously, and he will prosper and accomplish, and he will destroy the mighty and the people of the holy ones.

25. And through his intellect, he will cause the deceit in his hand to prosper, and in his heart he will become proud, and in tranquility he will destroy many, and over the Prince of princes he will stand, and without strength he will be broken.

26. And the vision of the evening and the morning that was said is true, and you close up the vision, which will be for many days."

27. And I, Daniel, became broken and ill for days, but I rose and did the king's work, and I was terrified about the vision, but no one realized it.

Daniel 9

1. In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus of the seed of Media, who was crowned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans.

2. In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, contemplated the calculations, the number of the years that the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah the prophet, since the destruction of Jerusalem seventy years.

3. And I turned my face to the Lord God to beg with prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

4. And I prayed to the Lord my God, and I confessed, and I said, "Please, O Lord, O great and awesome God, Who keeps the covenant and the loving- kindness to those who love Him and keep His commandments.

5. We have sinned and have dealt iniquitously; we have dealt wickedly and have rebelled, turning away from Your commandments and from Your ordinances.

6. And we have not obeyed Your servants, the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, and our forefathers, and to all the people of the land.

7. To You, O Lord, is the righteousness, and to us is the shamefacedness as of this day, to the people of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel both near and far, in all the lands to which you have driven them for the treachery that they have perpetrated toward You.

8. O Lord, to us is shamefacedness, to our kings, to our princes, and to our forefathers, who sinned against You.

9. To the Lord our God are the mercies and the pardons, for we have rebelled against Him.

10. And we have not hearkened to the voice of the Lord our God, to follow His teachings, which He placed before us by the hand of His servants, the prophets.

11. And all Israel have transgressed Your teaching, turning away, not heeding Your voice, and the curse and the oath, which are written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have befallen us, for we have sinned against Him.

12. And He has confirmed His word, which He spoke about us and about our judges who judged us, to bring upon us a great evil, which was not done under all the heavens, as was done in Jerusalem.

13. As is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us, and we did not entreat the countenance of the Lord our God to repent of our iniquities and to contemplate Your truth.

14. And the Lord hastened with the evil and brought it upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous with all His deeds which He performs, and we did not hearken to His voice.

15. And now, O Lord our God, Who took Your people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand, and You have made for Yourself a Name as of this day; we have sinned, we have dealt wickedly.

16. O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, may Your wrath and Your anger return now from Your city, Jerusalem, the mount of Your Sanctuary, for because of our sins and because of the iniquities of our forefathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a mockery to all those surrounding us.

17. And now, hearken, O Lord our God, to Your servant's prayer and to his supplications, and cause Your face to shine upon Your desolate Sanctuary, for the sake of the Lord.

18. O Lord, incline Your ear and hearken, open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city upon which Your name is called, because not for our righteousness do we cast our supplications before You, but for Your great mercies.

19. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do, do not delay; for Your sake, my God, for Your Name is called upon Your city and upon Your people."

20. Now I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and casting my supplication before the Lord my God about the mount of the Sanctuary of my God.

21. While I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I saw in the vision at first, approached me in swift flight about the time of the evening offering.

22. And he enabled me to understand, and he spoke with me, and he said, "Daniel, now I have come forth to make you skillful in understanding.

23. In the beginning of your supplications, a word came forth, and I have come to tell it, for you have desirable qualities; now contemplate the word and understand the vision.

24. Seventy weeks [of years] have been decreed upon your people and upon the city of your Sanctuary to terminate the transgression and to end sin, and to expiate iniquity, and to bring eternal righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.

25. And you shall know and understand that from the emergence of the word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until the anointed king [shall be] seven weeks, and [in] sixty-two weeks it will return and be built street and moat, but in troubled times.

26. And after the sixty-two weeks, the anointed one will be cut off, and he will be no more, and the people of the coming monarch will destroy the city and the Sanctuary, and his end will come about by inundation, and until the end of the war, it will be cut off into desolation.

27. And he will strengthen a covenant for the princes for one week, and half the week he will abolish sacrifice and meal- offering, and on high, among abominations, will be the dumb one, and until destruction and extermination befall the dumb one.

Daniel 10

1. In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a word was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar, and the word was true, and for a long time, and he understood the word and he understood it in the vision.

2. In those days, I, Daniel, had been mourning for three weeks of days.

3. I ate no white bread, neither did meat nor wine enter my mouth, and I did not anoint myself until the completion of three weeks of days.

4. And on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, when I was beside the great river, the Tigris.

5. I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold a man clad in linen, and his loins were girded with a girdle of gold studded with jewels.

6. And his body was like tarshish, and his face was like the appearance of lightning, and his eyes were like firebrands, and his arms and his legs were like the appearance of brandished copper, and the sound of his words was like the voice of a multitude.

7. And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, but the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great quaking fell upon them, and they fled into hiding.

8. But I remained alone, and I saw this great vision, and no strength was left within me, and my complexion was turned in me into corruption, and I could not summon up strength.

9. Then I heard the voice of his words, and when I heard the voice of his words, I fell into a sound sleep on my face, and my face was to the ground.

10. And behold, a hand touched me and moved me on my knees and the palms of my hands.

11. And he said to me, "Daniel, man of desirable qualities, contemplate the words I speak to you and stand upright, for now I have been sent to you." And when he spoke to me this word, I stood quaking.

12. And he said to me "Fear not, Daniel, for since the first day that you set your heart to contemplate and to fast before your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words.

13. And the prince of the kingdom of Persia has been standing against me for twenty-one days, and behold Michael, one of the first princes, has come to help, and I remained there beside the kings of Persia.

14. And I have come to enable you to understand what will happen to your people at the end of the days, for there is yet a vision for those days."

15. And when he spoke to me according to these words, I set my face to the ground, and I was dumbfounded.

16. And behold [one] like the image of the sons of man was touching my lips, and I opened my mouth and spoke, and I said to the one standing opposite me, "My lord, in the vision my joints turned upon me, and I did not summon up strength.

17. Now how will this servant of my lord be able to speak with this my lord?" And for me, from now on, strength will not stay in me, and a soul is not left in me.

18. And the one having the appearance like that of a man continued to touch me, and he strengthened me.

19. And he said, "Fear not, man of desirable qualities; peace be to you, be strong and be strong," and when he spoke to me, I gained strength, and I said, "Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me."

20. And he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? And now I shall return to battle with the prince of Persia; then I shall leave, and behold the prince of Greece is coming.

21. Indeed, I shall tell you what is inscribed in a true script, but no one strengthens himself concerning these matters except Michael, your prince."

Daniel 11

1. As for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood as a supporter and a stronghold for him.

2. And now, I shall tell you the truth. Behold three more kings will arise in Persia, and the fourth one will become wealthy with great wealth, and when be becomes strong with his wealth, he will arouse all against the kingdom of Greece.

3. And a mighty king will arise and will rule a great dominion and do according to his will.

4. And when he arises, his kingdom will be broken, and it will be divided to the four directions of the heavens, but not to his posterity, and not like the dominion that he ruled, for his kingdom will be uprooted and to others besides those.

5. And the king of the south will overwhelm [the king of the north] and his officers, and he will rule with great dominion over his ruling.

6. And at the end of years they will join, and the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make a compromise, but her arm will not retain strength; and he and his arm will not prevail, and she and those who brought her and he who begot her and supported her in those times will be surrendered.

7. A scion of her roots will arise in his position, and he will come to the army, and he will come into the stronghold of the king of the north, and he will succeed in them and take hold.

8. And also their gods with their princes with their coveted vessels of silver and gold he will bring in captivity to Egypt, and he will remain for years, more than the king of the north.

9. And he will come into the kingdom of the king of the south and return to his land.

10. And his sons will agitate and gather a multitude of great armies, and he will come and inundate and pass, and he will return and agitate until his stronghold.

11. And the king of the south will wage war, and he will go forth and wage war with him, with the king of the north, and he will raise a great multitude, and the multitude will be given into his hand.

12. And the multitude will be raised up, and its heart will be haughty, and he will fell myriads, but he will not prevail.

13. And the king of the north will return and raise a multitude greater than the first, and at the end of the times of years, he will come with a great army and with great possessions.

14. And in those times, many will rise up against the king of the south, and the sons of the renegades of your people will exalt themselves to bring about the vision but they will fail.

15. And the king of the north will come and pour a mound and seize the fortified city, and the arms of the south will not stand up, and the people of his chosen ones will have no strength to stand.

16. And the one who comes to him will do as he wishes with no one rising up before him, and he will stand in the land of beauty, and he will destroy it with his hand.

17. And he will set his face to come upon the strength of his entire kingdom, and the upright will be with him, and he will succeed. Now the daughter of the women he will give him to destroy her, but it will not stand, and she will not be for him.

18. And he will set his face to the isles, and he will seize many, and the prince will terminate his blasphemy to Him; besides his blasphemy He will recompense him.

19. And he will return his face to the strongholds of his land, and he will stumble and fall, and he will not be found.

20. And one who removes the oppressor will stand on his base, the glory of the kingdom, but in a few days it will be broken, but not with anger and not with war.

21. And a contemptible person will stand on his base, and they did not place the glory of the kingdom upon him, and he will come in peace and seize the kingdom with flattery.

22. And the arms of inundation will be inundated from before him and be broken, and also the king with whom they made a covenant.

23. And from the alliance with him he will work deceitfully, and he will go up and overpower with few people.

24. With peace and in the fat places of the country he will come, and he will do what his fathers and his fathers' fathers did not do; plunder and spoils and belongings he will distribute to them, and about the fortresses he will devise his plans until the time.

25. And he will arouse his strength and his heart upon the king of the south with a great army, and the king of the south will stir up war with a great and exceedingly strong army, and he will not stand because they will devise plans against him.

26. And those who eat his food will break him, and his army will inundate, and many will fall.

27. As for the two kings-their hearts are to do evil, and on one table they will speak lies, but it will not succeed, for there is still an end to the appointed time.

28. And he will return to his land with great possessions, and his heart is on the covenant with the holy ones, and he will succeed and return to his land.

29. After a time he will return and come into the south, but it will not be like the first nor like the last time.

30. And companies will come upon him from the Kiffites, and he will be crushed, and he will return and be wroth with the holy covenant, and he will succeed, and he will return and contemplate those who abandoned the holy covenant.

31. And arms from him will stand, and they will profane the Sanctuary, the stronghold, and they will remove the daily sacrifice, and place a silent abomination.

32. And those who deal wickedly against the covenant he will flatter with smooth speech, but the people that knows its God will adhere and perform.

33. And the wise of the people will allow the public to understand, and they will stumble by the sword and with flames, with captivity, and with plunder for days.

34. And when they stumble, they will be helped with a little help, but many will join them because of smooth speech.

35. And some of the wise will stumble to clarify some of them and to select and to cleanse until the time of the end, for there is yet until the time appointed.

36. And the king will do as he wishes, and he will exalt himself and magnify himself over every powerful one, and about the God of the mighty he will speak wondrous things, and he will succeed until the fury is spent, when it will be finished and executed.

37. And he will not contemplate the gods of his fathers, and the most desirable of women and any god he will not contemplate, for he will magnify himself over all.

38. But the god of the strongholds on its base he will honor, and the god that his ancestors did not know he will honor with gold and with silver and with precious stones and with desirable things.

39. And he will construct for the fortresses of the strongholds with a foreign god; whomever he will recognize, he will honor increasingly, and he will give them dominion over multitudes, and he will apportion land for a price.

40. And at the time of the end, the king of the south will clash with him, and the king of the north will storm over him with chariots, with horsemen, and with many ships, and he will come into the lands and inundate and pass.

41. And he will come into the land of beauty, and many will stumble, and these will escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the choice of the children of Ammon.

42. And he will stretch forth his hand upon lands, and the land of Egypt will not survive.

43. And he will rule over the treasures of the gold and silver and over all the precious things of Egypt, and the Lybians and the Cushites will be at his steps.

44. And tidings will terrify him from the east and from the north, and he will go forth in great wrath to destroy and to exterminate many.

45. And he will pitch his palatial tents between the seas and the beautiful holy mountain, and he will come to his end, and no one will help him.

Daniel 12

1. Now at that time, Michael, the great prince, who stands over the children of your people, will be silent, and it will be a time of distress that never was since a nation existed until that time, and at that time, your people will escape, everyone who is found inscribed in the book.

2. And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awaken-these for eternal life, and those for disgrace, for eternal abhorrence.

3. And the wise will shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who bring the multitudes to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

4. And you, Daniel, close up the words and seal the book until the time of the end; many will run to and fro, and the knowledge will increase.

5. And I, Daniel, saw, and behold two others were standing, one on this side of the river bank, and one on that side of the riverbank.

6. And he said to the man clad in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be until the secret end?"

7. And I heard the man clad in linen, who was above the waters of the river, and he raised his right hand and his left hand to the heavens, and he swore by the Life of the world, that in the time of [two] times and a half, and when they have ended shattering the strength of the holy people, all these will end.

8. And I heard, but I did not understand, and I said, "My lord, what is the end of these?"

9. And he said, "Go, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.

10. They will be clarified and whitened, and many will be purified, and the wicked will pervert [them], and all the wicked will not understand, but the wise will understand.

11. And from the time the daily sacrifice was removed and the silent abomination placed, is one thousand, two hundred, and ninety.

12. Fortunate is he who waits and reaches days of one thousand, three hundred, and thirty-five.

13. And you, go to the end, and you will rest and rise to your lot at the end of the days."

Signs of Moshiach:

The first sign:

The Holy One, blessed be He, will cause three kings to arise who are apostates from their religion. They will behave deceptively, for they will make themselves appear to people (as if) they serve the Holy One, blessed be He, but they (in fact) do not serve (Him).

They will lead astray and confuse the entire created order, and all the nations of the world will become apostates by following their laws. Moreover, (certain) wicked ones of Israel who have given up hope in (Israel’s) eventual redemption will commit apostasy against the Holy One, blessed be He, and abandon His veneration.

Regarding this generation scripture states: ‘truth will be driven away’ (Isa 59:15). What does ‘driven away’ (ne‘deret) mean? It means that those in possession of the truth will become like herds of animals (‘ederim ‘ederim) and they will depart and flee and hide themselves among caves and underground burrows.

All the mighty ones of that generation will perish, faithful ones will cease to exist, the ‘gates of wisdom’ will be hidden, and the world will become different. At that time there will be neither king nor prince in Israel, as scripture says: ‘Israel will dwell for many days without a king or a leader’ (Hos 3:4). Jacob will have no academy heads, no gaon, no faithful shepherds, no pious ones, and no wonder workers. The celestial doors will be locked, and the gates of support and sustenance will be closed.

At the time that the Messiah is revealed by His power, a generation will depart and collapse into its grave while still alive due to the harsh, fickle, and disturbing things which those three kings decree.

And while they are decreeing that one should commit apostasy against the Temple, the Lord, and the Torah, the Holy One, blessed be He, will decree that the evil empire will enjoy world sovereignty for no longer than nine months, as scripture states: ‘therefore He will give them until the time when she who is pregnant [has given birth]’ (Mic 5:2), and the word ‘therefore’ (laken) signifies here an oath, as where it is said: ‘therefore (laken) I have sworn an oath to the family of Eli’ (1 Sam 3:14). They shall issue harsh decrees, and they shall increase the tax on Israel tenfold.

Whoever formerly paid ten now pays one hundred, and everyone who formerly paid eight now pays eighty, and they will cut off the head of all those who do not have it. During all these nine months they will issue one new decree after another, each one harsher than its predecessor.

Then some extremely ugly people from the end of the earth will appear, and everyone who sees them will die due to the terror evoked by them. They will not need to wage war, for they kill everyone by fear of them alone. Each one of them has two heads and seven eyes; they will glow like fire and be as swift in their movement as deer.

At that time Israel will cry out and say, ‘Woe! Alas!’ Children from Israel will become frightened, and each of them will come and hide themselves beneath their father and mother, saying, ‘Woe, my father! Alas, my mother! What shall we do?!?’ Their parents will respond to them (saying): ‘Now we must rely on the (promised) redemption of Israel!’

The second sign:

The Holy One, blessed be He, will introduce heat into the world from the heat of the sun, along with consumption and fever, many terrible diseases, plague, and pestilence. Every day there will die among the gentile nations one million people, and all the wicked ones among Israel will perish. (This will continue) until the nations of the world weep and cry out: ‘Woe to us! Where can we go and to where shall we flee?’

Everyone will dig their own grave while they still retain strength and then they will wish for death. They will conceal themselves in arid places and among towers and crevices in order to cool themselves, and they will go into caves and earthen caverns. And if you should ask how the righteous will be delivered from the heat of the sun, (the answer is that) the Holy One, blessed be He, will render that heat medicinal (for them), as scripture says: ‘O those who revere My name, a sun of righteousness will rise for you, and it will heal (you) with its wings’ (Mal 3:20). Balaam the wicked prophesied about these troubles (when he said): ‘Woe to whoever is alive when God brings it about!’ (Num 24:23).

The third sign:

The Holy One, blessed be He, will cause a dew of blood to fall, but it will appear to be water to the gentile nations. They will drink of it and die. Moreover the wicked of Israel—those who have abandoned all hope of redemption—will drink of it and die. However, the righteous—those who have maintained faith in the Holy One, blessed be He—will suffer no harm at all, as scripture states: ‘the wise will shine like the brightness of the sky’ (Dan 12:3). The whole world will become blood for three entire days, as Hosea (sic) has said: ‘I will place portents in the heavens and on earth: blood, fire, and columns of smoke’ (Joel 3:3).

The fourth sign:

The Holy One, blessed be He, will cause a dew of healing to fall in order to counteract the blood, and those who were wavering will drink of it and be healed of their illness, as scripture states: ‘I will be like dew for Israel: he will bloom like a lily and extend his roots like Lebanon’ (Hos 14:6).

The fifth sign:

The Holy One, blessed be He, will turn the sun to darkness for thirty days, as scripture says: ‘The sun will be changed into darkness, and the moon to blood’ (Joel 3:4). After thirty days the Holy One, blessed be He, will return it to its former state, as scripture says: ‘they will be gathered together like a group of prisoners in a pit and locked away in prison, and after many days they will be recalled’ (Isa 24:22).

The gentile nations will feel fear and shame, for they will realize that it is on account of Israel that all these signs are occurring, and many of them will secretly become Jewish, as scripture has envisioned: ‘those who observe (a religion devoted to) worthless vanities will abandon their faith’ (Jon 2:9).

The sixth sign:

As we stated above, the Holy One, blessed be He, will grant the wicked Edom sovereignty over the entire world. A final king will arise in Rome, and he will rule the entire world for nine months and bring about the destruction of many regions. His wrath will increase against Israel and he will burden them with a heavy tax.

At that time Israel will experience great distress due to the multitude of restrictive edicts and disturbances affecting them which will recur every day. Israel will undergo decline and be subject to annihilation at that time, and there will be no one to help Israel. Isaiah prophesied about this time when he said: ‘he saw that there was no person; he was astonished that there was no one to interpose’ (Isa 59:16).

When the nine months are completed, the Messiah of the lineage of Joseph—whose name is Nehemiah b. Hushiel—will appear accompanied by the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, Benjamin, and some of the tribe of Gad. Israelites who dwell in every region will hear that the Lord’s Messiah has come, and a small number from every region and every city will assemble around him to fulfill what is said in Jeremiah: ‘Come back, O apostate children—utterance of the Lord! For I have been your Lord, and I will take one of you from the city and two of you from a family and bring you to Zion’ (Jer 3:14).

The Messiah of the lineage of Joseph will come and fight a battle with the ruler of Edom. He will win a victory against Edom, kill great heaps of them, and also kill the king of Edom. He will devastate the province of Rome. He will recover some of the Temple vessels which had been deposited in the palace of Julianos Caesar and come to Jerusalem.

Israel will hear (about this) and gather themselves to him. The ruler of Egypt will make a peace treaty with him. He (Nehemiah) will slay all the people of the regions surrounding Jerusalem up to Damascus and Ashkelon, and all the people of the world will hear (about this), and a great fear will fall upon them.

The seventh sign:

The Holy One, blessed be He, who is the Master of Marvels, will effect a miracle in the world. They say that in Rome there is a marble statue (in) the likeness of a beautiful maiden: she was not fashioned by a human hand; rather, the Holy One, blessed be He, created her so by His power. Certain wicked ones belonging to the gentile nations will come—utterly worthless fellows—and excite ‘her’ and have sexual relations with her, and the Holy One, blessed be He, will preserve their seminal emissions within the statue. He will make a creature with it and form with it an offspring: she will (suddenly) split open and a human form will emerge from her.

His name is Armilos the Satan; this is the one whom the gentile nations term ‘Antichristo(s).’ He is twelve cubits long and twelve cubits wide, and the distance between his two eyes is a span’s length, and they are deep-set (and) bloodshot. The hair on his head is like the color of gold, the soles of his feet are green, and he has two heads.

He will come to the wicked Edomites and say to them: ‘I am the Messiah! I am your god!’ They will immediately believe him and elevate him over themselves as ruler, and all the descendants of Esau will join forces with him and come to him. He will march forth and subdue all the regions. He will say to the descendants of Esau: ‘Bring before me my revelation which I gave to you!’ They will bring him their ‘frivolity,’ and he will respond to them: ‘This is indeed what I gave to you!’ He will address the nations of the world (saying) ‘Believe in me, for I am your Messiah!’ They will immediately put their trust in him.

At that time he will send for Nehemiah b. Hushiel and for all Israel, saying to them: ‘Bring to me your Torah and bear witness to me that I am God!’ Suddenly they will grow fearful and be perplexed. But at that time Nehemiah b. Hushiel will arise with thirty thousand warriors from among the forces of the tribe of Ephraim, and they will bring a Torah scroll and read aloud before him: ‘I am the Lord your God! You shall have no other gods before Me!’ (Exod 20:2-3).

He (Armilos) will say to them: ‘There is nothing like this at all in your Torah! Come and bear witness to me that I am God just as all the gentile nations have done!’ Immediately Nehemiah will rise up to oppose him. He (Armilos) will command his attendants (saying) ‘Seize him and bind him!’ But Nehemiah b. Hushiel will arise, along with the thirty thousand who are with him, and do battle with him, and they will kill two hundred thousand of his (troops).

The anger of Armilos the wicked will increase in intensity, and he will assemble all the forces of the nations of the world in ‘the Valley of Decision’ (Joel 4:14). They will do battle with Israel, and they (Israel) will slay great heaps of them, whereas they will fatally strike only a small number of Israelites, but the Lord’s Messiah will be killed. The ministering angels will come, take him, and conceal him among the ancestors of the world.

The courage of Israel will immediately fail and their strength will dissipate. Armilos the wicked will not know that the Messiah is dead, for if he knew (that were the case), he would not allow Israel to have a single survivor or fugitive. At that time all the nations of the world will expel Israel from their territories and will not permit them to dwell alongside them in their countries.

They will say: ‘You see this despicable and lowly people who rebelled against us; can they possibly raise up a king?’ Israel will experience trouble the like of which has never happened to her before during the days of the world up to that time.

At that time Michael will arise to purge the wicked from Israel, as scripture states: ‘At that time Michael, the great prince who watches over the sons of Your people, will arise, and there will be a time of trouble such as not has taken place from the time (Israel) became a nation until that time, and at that time all of your people who are found inscribed in the book will escape’ (Dan 12:1).

All of Israel will immediately flee into the deserts, whereas everyone who is entertaining doubts about their religion will turn to the nations of the world and state: ‘This is the redemption for which we have been waiting, for the Messiah is dead!’ All those who are no longer anticipating the redemption will be embarrassed by it (i.e., the Messiah’s demise) and they will turn to the gentile nations.

At that time the Holy One, blessed be He, will test Israel and refine them like silver and gold, as it is said in Zechariah: ‘I will bring the third part through the fire, and I will purge them (of dross) as one purges silver’ (Zech 13:9), and as it is written in Ezekiel: ‘I will purge from among you those who rebelled and disobeyed Me’ (Ezek 20:38), and as it is written in Daniel: ‘They will be purged and made white: many will be refined and they will convict the wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand’ (Dan 12:10).

The entire remnant of Israel—the sanctified and purified ones—will remain in the desert of Judah for forty-five days. They will forage and feed on salt-plant and pluck leaves of shrubbery (cf. Job 30:4), and by them will be fulfilled what is said in Hosea: ‘Therefore, behold, I will entice her and lead her out to the desert, and I will console her’ (Hos 2:16). What is the scriptural basis of the forty-five days? Scripture states: ‘from the time of the removal of the daily offering and of the installation of the desolating abomination will be 1,290 days’ (Dan 12:11), and it is (also) written: ‘happy is the one who waits and attains 1,335 days’ (Dan 12:12).

Consequently one learns that the difference between these two figures is forty-five days. At that time all the wicked of Israel will perish, for they are unworthy of experiencing redemption. Armilos will come and do battle with Egypt and capture it, as scripture states: ‘and the land of Egypt will no longer escape’ (Dan 11:42). Then he will turn his face toward Jerusalem in order to destroy it a second time, as scripture says: ‘he will pitch the tents of his pavilion between the seas and the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he approaches his end, and no one will help him’ (Dan 11:45).

The eighth sign:

Michael will arise and blow three blasts on the shofar, as scripture attests: ‘and it shall come to pass on that day that a great shofar will be blown, and those who are lost in Assyria will come [along with those cast out in Egypt, and they will worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem]’ (Isa 27:13), and as it is written: ‘and the Lord God will blow the shofar and travel with the storm winds of the south’ (Zech 9:14).

At the first blast, the Messiah of the lineage of David and Elijah the prophet will be revealed to those proven righteous ones of Israel, the ones who had fled into the desert of Judah, at the end of the forty-five days. They will restore their hearts, invigorate their weakened hands, and strengthen their tottering knees.

All Israel—those who remain throughout the whole world—will hear the sound of the shofar and realize that God has remembered them and that complete redemption has arrived. They will gather together and come (to Jerusalem), as scripture says: ‘those who are lost in Assyria will come [along with those cast out in Egypt, and they will worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem]’ (Isa 27:13). Fear and trembling will fall upon the nations of the world on account of that sound, and terrible diseases will afflict them.

Israel will gird themselves for departure, and the Messiah of the lineage of David will come, together with Elijah the prophet and those righteous ones who returned from the desert of Judah and with all those who have assembled from Israel. He will enter Jerusalem, climb the steps of the Temple ruins, and take his seat there.

Armilos will hear that a king has arisen for Israel, and he will say: ‘How long will this despicable and contemptible nation behave this way?’ He will immediately muster all the forces of the nations of the world and come to do battle with the Lord’s Messiah. Then the Holy One, blessed be He, will deem it unnecessary for him (i.e., the Messiah) to engage in battle.

Instead, He will say to him: ‘Remain by My right hand!’ (Ps 110:1), and He will inform Israel: ‘Stand still and behold the Lord’s deliverance which He effects for you today!’ (Exod 14:13). Then the Holy One, blessed be He, will wage war with them, as scripture says: ‘and the Lord will go forth and wage war against those nations as at the time He fought on the day of battle’ (Zech 14:3).

The Holy One, blessed be He, will rain down fire and brimstone from heaven, as scripture states: ‘I will contend with him using plague and blood; and I will rain down flooding rains, hailstones, fire, and brimstone upon him, his troops, and the many peoples allied with him’ (Ezek 38:22). Armilos the wicked will immediately die, both he and all his army, and so too (will perish) the wicked Edom who destroyed the Temple of our God and exiled us from our land. At that time Israel will exact much vengeance against them, as scripture foretells: ‘the house of Jacob will become fire, and the house of Joseph will be a flame, and the house of Esau will serve as dry chaff: [they will burn them up and consume them, and no survivor will remain for the house of Esau, for the Lord has spoken]’ (Obad 1:18).

The ninth sign:

Michael will blow a loud blast (on the shofar), and the graves of the dead will split open in Jerusalem, and the Holy One, blessed be He, will resurrect them. The Messiah of the lineage of David and Elijah the prophet will then come and resurrect the Messiah of the lineage of Joseph, the one who expired by the gates of Jerusalem. They will send out the Messiah of the lineage of David for the sake of the remnant of Israel that remains scattered among all the lands. Immediately all the rulers of the nations of the world will lift them up on their shoulders and bring them to the Lord (cf. Isa 49:22).

The tenth sign:

Michael will blow a loud blast (on the shofar), and the Holy One, blessed be He, will lead forth all the tribes located beyond the river of Gozan and from Halah and from Habor and from the cities of Media (cf. 2 Kgs 17:6). They will come together with the ‘people of Moses’ (beney Mosheh), (a large group) impossible to number or to measure. ‘The land before them will be like the garden of Eden, and behind them a flame will burn’ (cf. Joel 2:3; note Ezek 36:35), and nothing will remain alive among the nations of the world.

At the time that the tribes depart, clouds of glory will encompass them, and the Holy One, blessed be He, will march before them, as scripture states: ‘the breaker will go up before them’ (Mic 2:13). The Holy One, blessed be He, will open for them springs connected with the Tree of Life in order to supply them with water on the way, as it says in Isaiah: ‘I will open rivers on the high places and fountains in the midst of the plains; I will turn the wilderness into a pool of water and the dry land into springs of water’ (Isa 41:18), and it is written: ‘they will not be hungry or thirsty; heat and sun will not afflict them, [for the One showing them mercy will lead them and He will guide them by springs of water]’ (Isa 49:10).

May the Holy One, blessed be He, grant us the merit to witness the redemption soon! May He grant us the merit to see the (rebuilt) Temple! May He fulfill for us the verse in which it is written: ‘Behold I will bring back the captives of the tents of Jacob and show mercy to his places of dwelling; the city (i.e., Jerusalem) will be rebuilt on its mound and the palace will reoccupy its proper place’ (Jer 30:18), and may He confirm for us all of His redemptive deeds and assurances which have been spoken through His prophets! For it is written: ‘at that time I will bring you, and at that time I will assemble you so that I might make you a name and (an object of) praise’ (Zeph 3:20).

So, where do we go from here?

For Jews, it is time to do Te'Shuva and return to HaShem and Torah. There are 2 ways that the Redemption could arrive. One is in peace, and the other in horror. It depends upon what we do as individuals, and as a people.

There are a variety of wonderful places on the web in which you can begin. They are listed in the credits below. Please, visit these sites. In the meantime, make it a point to add a daily mitzvah: Recite the Shema, both upon rising and going to bed.; Study some extra Torah; Do more acts of kindness; Give lovingly to charities; And help those in need. And..... daven, daven, and daven!

For non-Jews, and the 70 nations of the world, follow the 7 Noahide Laws:

These seven laws are the "pillars of human civilization", and are named the "Seven Laws of Noah," since all humans are descended from Noah. They are:

1. Do not murder.
2. Do not steal.
3. Do not worship false gods.
4. Do not be sexually immoral.
5. Do not eat a limb removed from a live animal.
6. Do not curse God.
7. Set up courts and bring offenders to justice.

The well of Miriam, the prophetic sister of Moses, was found among the pillars in the Kinneret, as written. The Talmud states that it was the source of water for the Israelites during their 40 years in the desert. When they arrived in the Promised Land, the Well was "deposited" in the Kinneret [Sea of Galilee], just south of the Tiberias Municipal Beach.
